Yep there is a Montessori in Buderim, and Noosa I think, and also Caboolture. The Buderim on is called Harmony (i think?) and goes from early childhood through to high school.

I think if you googled Montessori you'd find much more information than I could give you, my understanding is fairly basic (though there are mums on here who have kids attending a Montessori school who might be able to offer some insight), but my understanding is Montessori is a school based on the ideas of a woman called Maria Montessori. Her ideas are that childhood is firstly the most important educational time in a persons life, and secondly that children learn differently so some children need direction from a teacher, but others learn from experiences and doing rather than teacher-based learning, and it caters for all (though tends to focus on the later which is the opposite from traditional schools), and I quite like Montessori schooling as they tend to teach very holistically (ie. teaching about all religions and celebrations rather than a select few, teaching about different family structures instead of just mum-dad etc).

I hope this is right... thats what I believe Montessori to be? I'm sure theres so much more to it!
