My Clarebear starts this year... I don't feel ready for it at all! She's extremely bright, but in some ways is still such a baby. She is also very young - won't be five until the middle of March. We ummed and ahhed over sending her but because she is so bright and getting bored at kindy, we felt we should give it a go.
She's so tiny, and her shorts and hat are huge on her. She's finding the whole transitioning thing out of babyhood quite difficult, and that's compounded with getting a new baby brother, as well. She is the youngest of five and has very much been the baby up until now.
I've already sent four kids off to school - you'd think I'd be used to it by now, wouldn't you?
ok my little man is suddenly excited lol. We are naming his gear and filling drink bottles to freeze and now he is all excited and dancing around with his bag and hat on
My Lucy is starting soon (Thurs week in Vic) and she is ridiculously excited. We are down to 10 sleeps now and she doesn't let me forget!
I haven't been nervous or teary, until tonight I ordered some iron-on and sticker name labels for her clothes and drink bottle etc, and it brought back memories of me going off to school. I can't believe she is 5.5 already!
She is VERY ready for it, and now her little brother keeps asking if he can go soon. I think he will notice the change the most, as he will be in childacre by himself without her there to play with....
I feel very honoured to be a kindy teacher (NSW prep) as well as scared LOL because this is such a huge thing for all the families involved and I get to be a part of it!
I have decided to take photos of all the kids on the 1st day and then give them to the parents at Christmas with another photo at the end of the year.
