Where to go Sleep School? I need help i've had enough!!!

I think it has to be done, DD's sleep is shocking for the most part. I've tried to just deal with it, accept that it's her but i know in my heart and in my mothering instincts that it isn't good enough.

Yes i'm a little nervous to go but i also don't want to keep going on like this.

Nights she is waking about 3 times so we're getting about 3-4 hours between feeds. Days she has two sleeps a day, usually about an hour at time if i'm lucky but lately she's been having half hour naps.

So i've been on the phone to QEC last month and they woudn't take any bookings and are currently closed. I was also told they were booked up for 3 months.

My understanding is Koo Wee Rup is for babies under 12 months.

Where else can i go, i'm located on the Mornington Peninsula but will obviously have to drive some distance if necessary.

Try O'Connell family services. They are part of Mercy Health.

Thanks for that, i just tried them and they are closed for the Christmas break also. They're back on Monday, i'll try then.

depending on $$ available tresillian also have tresillian at home - they will come to you amd help (they dont stay overnight but it is helpful)
i found i could get them almost immediately for some help (with eating not sleep but they do all sorts of things). i think it was about $300

so isnt your fault - but i know how you feel. x

Thanks Heather i just tried Sleep Rescue, she reccommded an overnight stay which will cost $540. I would seriously consider it but i better talk to DH first.

I used them in Melbourne. Let me see if i can find their contact details.

My sister went through Rosebud Hospital, stayed for 5 days last year.
Have you tried there?
It's a public though so I am assuming their would be a waitlist.
And potentially a referral was required from her GP but I can't remember.

I am getting to same point with DS2 my neighbour was just 20 mins telling me of a private sleep person who came to her home and helped her. She is going to find me number

EJ are you BFing? My DS was still waking every 2-3hours at night about 2 months ago I eliminated additives from his and my diets. I saw improvements after about 2 weeks. Now he sleeps minimum 6hours then a short wake for milk and he's out again for another 2 or 3! He does go to bed late, MIL can't get him to sleep during the day when I'm at work (over stimulation) so he sleeps late in the arvo. But when I get 6,7,8+ hours sleep IN A ROW I'm happy :happydance: I'm feeling like a different person :) Good luck :goodluck: and :hug: I know how it feels to be sleep deprived!

HotI i bought the book late last year and from reading that i have made some changes. She was feeding to sleep no questions asked but we're not so stuck with that now. The process of getting her to sleep can vary now as to what she will go along with (each day is different with her) but i think my main issue is the lenght of her sleeps.

Hi EJ, sorry you're having a hard time still. It's not you, ok? Have you ruled out all likely suspects - teeth, illness, developmental leap, food sensitivities etc?
Also, before going ahead, have a think about what you want to do exactly - your goal - and what you're willing to do (so you don't get pushed into something you're not really happy about).

Koo Wee Rup is only a day service, but it might be enough to help you out. Otherwise we went private through South Eastern Private Hospital. I got a referral from my GP and ensured that the referral was covered via my private health insurance, just had to pay the hospital excess. GL

The other thing was it was a five day stay & DH could come along, which he did. They took all our family history, as well as birth history, feeding history etc... and asked what we wanted to do ie: white noise, music, dummy, sooky toy - for sleep association and they had some other mother benefits too like a relaxation night, a dads night where the Dads come in and got to chat to a male social worked & had pizzas (men only), we also spoke to a Dr to rule out PND etc...

i asked Dh and i am pretty sure we used tweddle at home. mainly bc they could come right away and to me. i am not 100% sure - that period of my life is a blur. it didnt work miracles (i think i breed kids that start to sleep well at 2.5 yrs ish) but they did help. they were good at helping me to determine what i wanted to achieve and what i would be comfortable with. they also heloped Dh and i get on the same page.
