He he I'm first!!! liam was here ! (and yes he wrote it- with a little help)

Well we took Liam to the GP during the week to get a check up and to see if he thinks he should see a pead. I mentioned to him about the yellowish colour on his face which the baby lady at the pharmacy told me was from to much orange food and that i was concerned with the fact it had not gone away and could it be jaundice or something else. He said he looked well and was developing accordingly but would like some blood work done to check for jaundice and a few other things. So we will have to wait till Tuesday to find out results and will then go from there.
Gotta go cranky bums in the house!!

Poor Liam, is it common for babies of his age to get jaundice? I guess your paed will tell you!

Lucy has been having a great weekend and did her first crawl, one 'step' only, but I guess it's onwards from here. She keeps coming over to me while I'm sitting on the couch and she's playing on the floor. She's over her cold now, but DP and I are not! Thankfully she's sleeping back in her own bed until her early feed at least. She's trying to pull herself up on the couch as we speak - I can't believe how quickly they go from just lying there to being into everything!

She's loving finger foods at the moment and we've progressed to a cup without handles and just a sipper lid. She can hold the cup (with assistance) easier without the handles and just loves her drinks of water. She's eating all kinnds of things - biscuits, cruskits, grapes and a piece of apple a minute ago. She seems to prefer feeding herself to mushy foods fed by me, which would be great if it wasn't for her 'helping' put the spoon in her mouth!

No teeth yet and I've given up. She has two lumps on the bottom gum but they've been there for a couple of weeks now and still nothing.

I can see her turning into a toddler before my eyes and there's even a glimmer of the little girl she'll be soon enough!

Well, must go, one BAS done for the weekend and one to go...

Well - having said there was no sign of a tooth - her first tooth has just come through!! Bottom left hand side and the right hand side one is just about to pop through as well. A friend was over and noticed it when she was screaming before I fed her. No wonder she's been covering it with her tongue for the last couple of days, must feel a bit different!

I was getting ready to post a very similar story...believe it or not until i read your second one!

Liam managed to pull himself up beside the lounge yesterday and is getting ever so close to crawling, the wait is killing me - however i am sure once he starts i will wish he was still just sliding around. He spent the night with us on sat night...something DH really dislikes for safety reasons....as he had woken twice and was really unsettled and by the third time i spent 3/4 hour trying to comfort him but got no where so i took him to bed where he proceeded to still toss and turn in discomfort...i am guessing teeth moving but still no sign. Needless i got no sleep and was so tired yesterday, thankfully after being cranky all day yesterday he settled to sleep last night with a bit of disagreement but stayed that way...so i got my sleep too!!
Lets just see what today brings :confused:

Kas - I hope Liam is alright and it turns out to be nothing serious. How is his weight gain coming along?
Jen13 - Yay for Lucy's teeth!!! It's amazing how they just seem to appear sometimes. Cailan has 6 now and two of them I have no idea when they came through, not there one minute and there the next. I can't believe how mobile Lucy sounds, clever little duck pulling herself up onto the lounge! I hope you and DP get over your colds soon.

I have lost 14 kilos in the 11 weeks that I have been dieting. Still a long way to go but I will get there.

Hey girls

Pretty quiet in here... I'm pleased to say I've just finished off a whole heap of paperwork and only have to worry about my 'real' work now (and looking after Lucy of course!). Such a relief!

Well, Lucy's second tooth is just about to pop through. I had to put the side up on her cot now when she's asleep too, I went in there yesterday and she had pulled herself up onto her knees on the side. She now wakes up and amuses herself in her cot. I'm not wrapping her anymore, she likes to sleep on her side. She had a couple of days of not settling when I'd lie her down, so I tried not wrapping and rolling her onto her side instead. Hey presto - fixed straight away! So now she wakes up and amuses herself for a while. She can now reach to turn on her mobile and is desperately trying to grab the toys as they swing by. So cute to watch. They detach as they're only held on by magnets and in the cradle she could pull them all off. She's obviously remembered.

I got over the cold only to have come down with a shocking sore throat. I'm taking us both to the drs this afternoon, just in case. DP and I went out for our first dinner without Lucy on Monday night. It was the seven-year anniversary of when we started going out, so fairly significant for us. Lucy slept the whole time, didn't disturb her babysitter once. I went to a jewellery making night down the road on Friday and left her with DP and she cooperated then too.

Steph - huge congrats on dropping so many kgs!!! I think it's very impressive to have done it that quickly. How's settling in going? Wow at Cailan having 6 teeth!

Kas - See, Liam just can't be bothered with too much of that crawling, he's going to do his own thing! Lucy pulls herself up just high enough to pull things off the coffee table. Just as well I started implementing a child-friendly policy in the lounge at least.

Liz - hope Tallon has settled down with his teeth. And I think it's funny that he chucks little tantys when he doesn't get what he wants. Isn't it amazing watching their personalities shine through? Lucy's biggest thing is socialising, especially with other babies.

Well blood results report nothing......no jaundice....no liver abnormalities....no odd blood levels......no referal to Pead. I am trying to avoid all orange food and hopefully the yellowness will contintue to fade. I have noticed it mainly depends on the light as to the effect it has and 9in photos it is nowhere near as obvious as before. So fingers crossed it continues to fade.

I think...no-I am almost convinced that Liam is teething. He is still unsettled at times sleeping heaps more than usual (a friends DD did this when teething) and the most runny and expolsive poo's i've ever seen, not to mention the qty!

Steph - wow! at all of Cailan's teeth. As for the weight gain- we will see the CFHC lady next wednesday. I'm hoping for a good gain and hopefully some length so they will lay off on needing to see a pead. At least i can tell them the GP saw him and doesn't see the need. Hopefully that will keep them happy.

Jen - i agree with you about blinking and before you know it Lucy will be a toddler. Time has flown and Brad will be 5 and off to school in just a few short months. As for Liam it still feels recent that he came home with us and so many milestones have already passed. (sob :crying: sob) They look so cute as they try to stand or look over ot through the cot don't they? Thanfully Laim only pulls to standing if already sitting. I am not sure if he knows to or can be bothered going from lying to sitting to standing but i too should prob put the rail up just in case. Hopefully Lucy will get a break from teeth for a while and give you and DH time to recover from your colds/sore throats and shock at her achievements. I am glad you got to enjoy your dinner and jewellery night. It makes it alot easier to leave bubs when they behave and you don't have to worry about them being upset/unsettled.
Just over a week till xmas dinner...i can't wait to go and meet everyone, especially people i "chat" with. Are you still going?

Oh my goodness - I got left behind when the new thread started! Sorry guys!

OK - quick update, then I'll go back and read what all your bubbas are up to!

Crawling - soooooooooooooooooo close it's not funny. Trouble is he gets one foot stuck under him, so he ends up sitting up (which he worked out how to do quite a while ago now).

Teething - Well, we just cut 5 new teeth! yes FIVE!! all at once poor little man. All four across the top have cut through, and the one next to the bottom one. We certainly had some restless nights in there.. and me the unintuitive mummy didn't realise it was his top teeth all coming in, until one day he was hanging upsidedown off my lap, and I saw them all! We did use Brauer's teething releif a couple times during the unsettled times, but it was just a fluke, coz I had no idea he really was cutting those teeth, was just desperate to help him sleep, and thought his teeth might have been moving around. Coz during the day, you'd never know he's teething, except that he chomps on things.. but he does that anyway. His gums don't go red, or white, no teething poos or anything! Just screams when he wakes up at night. His teeth just suddenly pop through! I'm kinda glad he got a lot at once.. now it won't drag out too long. But he's gonna look so much older once they're down properly :(

Standing - he's very clever at pulling himself up on the furniture (altho he pulled the coffee table onto himself the other night). Now once he's up he stands there and hit's the lounge like he's drumming hehe.

Eating - eating forkmashed foods, rice etc. Haven't really progressed to finger foods, altho I know he'd love them, but I'm a bit scared! I gave him a bit of cold watermelon to chew on, and he promptly bit off a bit and choked and brought up all his dinner! erk! So I'm a bit scared with giving him toast and stuff, as much as I want to. How did you introduce it? I know he's got the teeth to chew it now.. so I spose I shouldn't worry too much. and LOL - how funny is it when they chew with their front teeth! He doesn't understand why everyone laughs when I give him rice or something that requires chewing. hehehehe

Oh... and the big announcement - HE ROLLS OVER!! LOL. Two nights ago, he rolled from back to front for the first time. He's known how to do it for aaaages, but just flat refused to do it.. and if he ever fell onto his back, was like a beetle stuck on its back! But he's been doing it a bit in our bed... reaching over to grab my hair. But now he does it of his own initiative when he's playing on the floor. Finally! And he does it with such ease.. just shows he 'chose' not to roll before. LOL.

OK.. better go, gotta do a few things while he's asleep. Swimming lesson this morning at 10!

Hi girls

Just about to pop off for an afternoon nap as Lucy woke up a couple of times last night and I'm feeling exhausted, specially with this throat infection as well.

Kas - I am so excited to get to meet you and Liam too!! It is great to go to a catch up. Liz is coming too, I think.

Liz - wow on all of Tallon's teeth!! Lucy still has just the one and is almost there on no 2. You should give finger foods a go, Lucy loves to feed herself. She has toast in the morning, and a piece or two of fruit (doesn't eat it all, but it's obviouslyfun to play with ), corn thins, biscuits, fruit, celery, meat, you name it, if she can hold it, she can eat it! I make sure I watch her but the occasional 'went down the wrong way' cough clears anything quickly and she keeps munching away. Milk arrowroot biscuits are her favourite, but she only gets one every other day.

It's been a very big week for Lucy - yesterday she took off crawling properly, not just a step!! So she's into everything, especially cords. She crawls a bit like a crab, legs are straight, bent, bottom in the air, then bottom down, it's hilarious to watch. But boy can she go! She's very pleased with herself. The dogs are horrified, she chases after them!

Must go, nap to have, work to do... Baby to chase as soon as she wakes up!

Brad got the dreaded bug thats been circulating on thursday night whilst DH was at work. between sheet and multiple pj/clothes changes i have certainly done my fair share of washing-mind you three of those were during the night as i would hate to think of what it would be all like if i left all till the morning :eek: . I think he is coming out of the rut now and has not been sick or rushed to the loo since last night.

Liams nappies are still horendous....i'm still saying its teething related as today i noticed a lump at the bottom but off to the side, so who knows. I am sure if he had what brad has he would be off his food and bb's.

Busy weekend ahead!!
I have my work xmas party tonight at a Thai restaurant....YUM YUM YUM one of my most fav foods. Hopfully Liam will hold out for a feed till we return if not he can have some formula then i will top him up when we pick them up. ETA - Food did not live up to my expectations which was a huge letdown as i was so looking forward to it. Liam was happy to take 1/2 formula bottle at normal bb feed time then i fed him once we got home at 11.30pm
Christening tomorrow! ETA - DH had a big one and was in bed by 8.30pm....is now all refreshed and has gone to work on overtime.
DH's work xmas do monday night ETA Dont really feel like it but have been paid for so i guess i will go.

I think i will be nackered by the end of it all!!!

Hey guys, just popping in to say a belated WOOHOO that Tallon is crawling! Saturday afternoon he did his first crawl, to of all things, DH's laptop which was on the floor plugged into the telly. We just laughed and said we should have known that would be the incentive! But his crawl was so funny, hitching his legs up, making a step, then hitching his legs up agin... little bottom going up and down and side to side. His hands were totally normal doing the crawling things, but his legs were so funny.

Anyway, he's now off like a little pro. Crawls everywhere, and get into everything! As a result, we have a few bumps on the head too :( He pulled the barstool down onto him yesterday, so has a bump from that, he crawled headfirst into the table that the fish are on (LOL) altho, dont' think that made a bump.

He's also cruising the furniture now!! He crawls up to the lounge, and very proficiently climbs up, and proceeds to make his way across the lounge! Everything is happening so fast! :( Where's the little baby that would sit quietly on my lap? LOL. GONE!! Now I have a wriggly little toddler that's never satisfied - just wants to constantly explore!

It's even changed how we play now. He crawls around trying to find me, if I'm in the kitchen or something, and he crawls to us when we call him and stuff. It's like we've suddenly hit a new stage of his life, and that he's suddenly grown up.

Jen - I gave him toast the other day .. and watched him like a hawk! LOL. He did ok with it, altho yesterday I found a piece in his mouth he'd be sucking on for a while...I was trying to work out why he was coughing now and then, and then I discovered this square piece of soggy toast in his mouth, when I thought he'd finished! He also had a piece of rockmelon the other day, so I'm getting there with giving him finger foods :)

Oh - and swimming on Friday - poor little man swallowed so much water, that after his sleep when we got home, he threw up EVERYWHERE. And he was a bit miserable the rest of the day. Mum said she's not surprised, considering what would be in that pool. She saw a lady getting her baby changed ready for swimming, and she said she didn't wipe his bottom properly :eek: yuck!! No wonder his little tummy was like - no thank you! blerk!

Well, must go, since I'm up so early, I should make the most of it. Cya!

I haven't posted for a while so i have found some time to. Congrats to all babies crawling :clap: ! Batten down the hatches mums!!!!

Well i have been very very tired and had m/s alot lately so i have felt like a big blob on the couch, yesterday was a good day i actually felt good and not like $#####T. As you all know we are going to Perth for a 4 week holiday to see family and friends at Christmas/New Year Tayneesha keeps going to a picture of her Nanny and Grandad and pulling it out and saying nan nan nan, i don't know if it is just by pure luck or she is actually saying it, i would like to think she is Hee hee hee!

Tayneesha is going through a tantrum and seperation anxiety stage at the moment. Little devil. I have nearly put a stop to it and DH did a round last night for me. What she does is she goes down at night then will wake up at about 1.30am and stand up in her cot and scream the house down till someone comes to her! AHHHHHH! I have had to let her scream for 5 mins then go in and settle her lay her back in her cot and she will go to sleep BUT as soon as i leave the room she starts up again so i repeat the process and then sit in the room not talking or looking at her until she goes to sleep herself and it works. It takes a good 1hr for it to work though. I have had to show her whos boss as she is starting to test the grounds now as they all do between 8 - 12mths old!!!!

She still has only two teeth no sign of any more yet, but i think they must be mucking around in there as she tends to get sooky and dribbly some days.

God i can not believe how fast they are growing up i can remember when she was born adn now she is just every where and getting into things and so mobile! Oh she has taken a few little steps as well with me holding her hands so dam cute she thinks she is so smart and the expression on her face is just adorable.:)

Solids and finger foods i give Tayneesha avocado, vegemite sandwiches, arrowroot biscuits,peach,watermelon, tomato, nectarine whatever really. She also has weekbix in the morning for breakfast mashed up she eats a whole one with a bottle of milk. She eats bannanas as if they are going out of fashion as well. Finger foods are great but messy thats for sure. I give her also mashed veges with gravy and all of that still, she is still not too keen on meat yet either not sure about anyone else but still trying the meat thing, maybe she is vegetarian?????:p Oh and she loves baby yogurt as well!!!

She is standing at the back door banging her little hands on it as if to say le tme out, and she is lalalalalalaing as she goes and giggling, so cute! Shes an outdoors girl and loves it thats for sure.

Well must be off and get some things done around the house and then have another sleep with Tayneesha as we did have broken sleep last night:crying:

I hear you on the broken sleep front. But I don't think Tallon's is tantruming, as he sounds truly heartbroken when he cries out, and really sobs. Only a cuddle from me is good enough for him, and he settles again, sometimes with a boobyfeed, other times he'll just fall asleep with the cuddle. He's also kinda doing it in his sleep, so I'm not sure he's testing the boundaries deliberately just yet. So he'll keep getting cuddles from me. hehe. He doesn't do it every night tho, which leads me to believe he only does it if he really needs me iykwim. So I'm happy to oblige.

As for the crawling - omg.. I can't get anything done!! LOL. I'm going shopping for a playpen today, but I have a sinking feeling that I've left it too late and he'll hate it coz he's had his taste of freedom! Oh well... i'm sure it'll resell on ebay or even here if it doesn't work for us. I can't even go to the loo coz that is waaaaay too much time for him to crawl up and get somewhere he shouldn't be.

Ok, gotta go. Want to go out and get home again before it's too hot! Going to be 40 degrees here today!! :eek:

Hey girls

Jen and Liz, exactly the same here with just about everything you girls said! Especially with the waking up in the night thing. Sometimes she will resettle herself but at least once or twice that doesn't work. Last night I waited a minute or two and this heartbroken little "Mum!" came out!

As for into everything, what is it about electrical cords??!! We are moving in the New Year, thank goodness, 'cause this place is too small to be able to move everything out of her way. Oh, and isn't it so cute when you're doing something and all of a sudden they attach themselves to the back of your leg?! Lucy can take a few steps as well when you hold her hands, but I don't think she really knows what she's doing. At least, I hope not... We're putting the Xmas tree up on the weekend, I think I might need a playpen for that!

Lucy has about three bruises across her forehead from various things she's run into head first. No fear...

Liz, I think they've crossed a stage for sure. And my Mummy friends keep saying Lucy has changed a lot in the last few weeks, even in her face. She's gotten heaps longer (still as skinny as ever) and just looks more "grown up", if that makes any sense.

She laps the water in the pool at swimming as well. Gross. And she knows how to kick! In fact, even the little arms move like in dog paddle. She loves swimming lessons, took a few times but she's having a blast when we go now.

Must go, work to do, I'm off this afternoon and it seems I can never get the house tidied, work done, Lucy's lunch made, my lunch made, etc, etc, before my friend gets here to watch her. In the New Year another client wants me (from home) for another day a week, so we're getting a nanny in part-time. Then I might be more organised. I'll still only be gone for two afternoons most weeks, but at least I'll be able to get things done while I'm at home!
