ray, yeh i know the feeling about the tingly breasts. I have had them also. how exciting about your ivf!
maz, great news about mr squiggly.... 140bpm is great! sorry about he m/s.. yucky dry crackers first thing in the morning to stop the upset stomach?
Kj, hi and welcome. yeh it is very exciting but also aprehensive..... i had a reversal in december 06 and had an ectopic last month after a hysteosalpingiogram (dye into the tubes). who is doing you reversal?
em, sad about the clomid- are you seeing the gyno? what has he said
storm, still running? when can we hear pittapatter from you?
Hi, again. Well I am nervous about getting it done and spending the 4600 canadian, and then no baby
The doctor is Dr. Gilligan. He is from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada. That is where I am from. He is giving me a 70% success rate. My four boys are from a previous marriage and now my new one has no children of his own and no siblings, I think he would be okay with none but would still like one. I am not sure if it doesn't work if he would want to do ivf? It is 10,000 here and then 1500 each next try for like 4 more tries and I am not sure if I am up to the ivf but if he wants I will try.
I am also scared about a tubal pregnancy but I guess if I don't try I will never know and then it will just be meant to be I guess.
It is really heartbreaking how many women have a tubal and then regret it. I know at the time I was just not going to have anymore boys but now I don't care about it. My best friend here just had her 4th and had a tubal done and only a week later she is feeling really guilty about it and you can tell anyone that they may regret it and they just don't see it until it is too late. Sad. Even though my family will freak when they find out what I am doing. Except my mom she understands.
luvchildren - if something happens and your tubes are blocked after slightly do they try and fix them or is it off to ivf?
hi ladies,
i had a great morning now i'm upset.I messaged in the ttc with assisted conception i explained my situation saying that i had my tubes clamped because i was falling pregnant on contraception and now decided to have another baby, then a lady wrote back "because i kept falling pregnant, wish we all had that problem" i seriously didn't mean to offend anybody . But it's hard on me as well that i had no problem getting pregnant, and now i have taken that out of my hands by having these clamps on. I haven't cried for so long now i am because i offended someone that i didn't mean to.
ray:cry:
hi ladies,
my message before i wrote it was a lady, i found out it was a man.
ray
Ray- dont take it so hard darl every one is different and we all have a different story to tell. We all had our tubes done for our own personal reason but things change and people change,we are only human. I swear people think im wacked in the head when i say i have 5 kids and im trying for another.
KJS-My tubes were blocked up until 3 months ago, A hysteosalpingiogram should clear your tube if they are blocked after you have your reversal. Wait a couple of months and then ask to have one done
hi kj:hello:
they have given you 70% success for reversal, have they given any % on ivf. Wow its very expensive in canada , 4 boys wow i have 3 boys hoping to have a girl we figure we have had 3 boys naturally we are doing ivf in a few months:D so we reckon we will get a girl.
we are the same no one but my mum knows what we are up to, my hubby reckon they will try and talk us out of it.
How old are you and you hubby?
ladies i have decided to see a clairvoyant ,i saw one in queensland when i lived there, she told me i was having 3 boys and 1 girl i want to hear what another one says so i can start to stop stressing.
ray:):):):)
hi mumof5,
thanks for that. I just have been very emotional this week taken things to heart.
How many cycles of clomaid do you have to do?,

ray:D
LOL at blonde day Ray, don't ya just hate them??
Um no pitter patter from me, I have enough!!
hi storm,
ya i hate them ,i dye my hair brown but i am a blonde but i still can't get away from the blond days.
how is angel doing now? is she improving.
ray
Yeah, she's getting there slowly, off to the pead on friday.
hi how's everyone doing. i am starting to get sore nipples. i have noticed that around my nipple itself its getting a little bit dark with little white pimples and on top there's a white spot. and also i went to the loo earlier and there was a couple of white spots on my pants. does that mean anything? thanks heaps
hi dea,
sore nipples a good sign, darker around the nipples a great sign,
do you mean in the nipple there are white spots?
when i was pregnant with brandon as of 4 weeks my nipples use to leak a little bit leaving white spots on my nipples.
don't know about the loo bit though. that could be a bit of thrush common in pregnancy
They sound like excellent signs im praying:pray: for you
ray:D
hi ray yeah there's one white spot on top of the nipple then there's .little spots around where i said it was getting dark there's a few little white spots there.
kjs, wow canada? do you have family there that you will stay with? 70% is good. do you know whether you have clips or cut?
storm, its hard when they are sick. 2 weeks ago everyone here except hubby was sick. its even harder when you are sick too. we just learnt about treating bugs....it was interesting
maz, still with m/s..... i feel for you
Hi there,
Ray- I am 33 and my hubby is 27. I hope you get a girl to. I have 2 nieces but it is not the same, I would love to have a girl but I used to be only for a girl I did not want another son but this time I expect to have a boy. And i welcome it whatever, my hubby has none of his own and I am not sure a girl could live in our household anymore the poor thing would never get a bf. My doc did not say anything about ivf yet as my hubby wants to try and have it this way first.
Luvchildren- I have family here but how is it after the surgery? Do I need to stay with someone? My mom or my sister is going to stay with the boys until I come home but after that I hadn't thought much about it. I had mine cut, he said it was a good thing the way they were done but then they go with laproscopy and then look to see if they can and if they don't think it won't be a success they don't make the cut and then I will get all my money back as Sask health pays for laproscopy but not the reversal.
Sick kids and sick husband here too, at least the kids go about their daily playing and it is sad but my hubby is moaning and groaning on the sofa right now looking for massages and sympathy, what a baby!
Grr, men, they are always such babies when they get sick, it's like a competition here, when we all get sick & yep DH is always the worst.... nobody has ever been sicker than he LOL
Hi Ray, i take tablets 3 a day for 5 days on day 2 to day 5 of my cycle. I went to the specialist today and he is starting me on the pill when i get my next period ready for my first IVF cycle
hello ladies:hello:
i have some news, hubs and i have our appointment in august to see the ivf clinic in geelong and IF everything is fine and we have the money up to date when can try about 5 or 6 weeks later YEAH:dance::dance::dance::dance:
hi mumof5 thats great i'm very happy for you
Ray:D
ray,
I'm a mum of four, three from a previous marriage. I too got a tubal (at my XH's insistence) becaue I also 'kept getting pregnant'. I had a reversal that failed, and I went on to have 8 IVF/FET cycles before conceiving my son. I am also the moderator in the LTTTC forums, and I'm sorry that I missed you posting in there. You are very welcome to come back to find support there. It is there for all IVFers, not just first time mums, but those with secondary infertiliy too. I'd like to think that perhaps it was a mis-communication on both parts.
Email me if you want to discuss it further. My email is sushee@bellybelly.com.au.
Hi everyone, Im new to this site but really needed someone who is in the same position as me to talk to. I will start from the begining so you all can get up to speed, hope I dont bore you to much!!!
I am married and have 2 beautiful sons aged 8 and 9, had my tubes tied in 2003 aged 23 (was a good idea at the time) in 2004 started regreting our decision and after much soul searching decided to have tubal reversal op. Had the operation on 28 June 2006
and so far no luck. Just wondered how many of you ladies have succesful stories to tell.
I do!! I had mine in 2003 & it took me 12 months to conceive Zaccie. then when he was 9 months old I fell pregnant with Angel.
I've had 2 since my op & we are thinking about another :o which will make 6.
Sometimes I think your body needs to " get in order" before it can cope again.
Good luck, if your op was successful, then it's only a matter of time. Have you had a HSG done to check your tubes?
storm, so true lol
kjs, its not really that bad. i drove from sydney to townsville 2 days after the operation. if they say the cut was good, it means where they cut along the tube. hopefully things will be good for you. have they said they will open you up? i had mine done with the laprascopy.
Hi Storm,
I have been having iregular af`s since the op and have just recently had o and thyroid tests to see if that may be the problem and they all came back normal, my GP sugested I wait a couple more months and track af closly if not pg then look at having tubal patency(not sure if spelling is correct but you get my drift) test. It`s all just so frustrating as you can imagine. Op was all fine and done the dye thing, at time of op both tubes were open so will just wait and see. It`s great to hear some have the desired result, please any more happy endings would love to hear from you.
Hi Onemore,
i had the dye done at the time of my op too and they were both open and good but a couple of months after my op i asked to have another one done again. They were blocked and they managed to unblock one at that time i had it done. I also started having my af all over the place after my op and i went to a specialist. He put me on Clomid to make them regular and to help ovulation and there back to normal now.
Hi mumof5,
Iv`e been to see my GP as i said before and had a few tests done which all came back normal, I think my GP is maybe a bit to relaxed and thinks I should wait a few more months and see what happens. I have been in contact with one of the nurses I had at time of op and she sugested I have the tubal patency test once 12 months are up(thats only a couple of weeks away) and have it done at Melbourne Royal Womens Hospital where I had the op, I think I will do that soon. My cousin keeps telling me I should try clomid, I`d be happy to if only to get af regular again, its such a downer when af doesn`t come and you start to get your hopes up only for her to arrive a couple of weeks later, It really drives me crazy and the emotional side of it is also yuk!!
mumofone,
I didn't want to reply because I'm not a TR success story, but wanted to say that yes, it definitely is worth you getting another tubal patency test if you haven't concieved in a year.
I had to have one done, I think it was about 9 months later too, the dye had to be pushed through several times before it went all the way through. So I think that having it done again helped clear them, cos there could have been some scar tissue blocking them.
Sushee- please don`t hesitate to reply and give give your opinion and thoughts as every bit of info helps, positive or negative. I have found there to be not a lot of information or first hand knowledge out there about this situation and I would love to hear what others in the same position have to say.
Storm- I think maybe I`ll contact the Melbourne Royal and make an appointment for myself to have the dye put through, Iv`e heard it can give you a bit of a weird feeling.
Thanks ladies for the replies.
Hi Onemore.... you dont have to have it done at the hospital you can just ask your GP for the refferal and most X-ray places do it
Hi Sushee..... I read your story not long after i joined Belly. Your jorney was so touching it made me cry. I guess i too am in the same boat you were and i hope i get the same results you did.
I just hope it doesn't take you as long, Mumof5! :) I wish you all the luck in the world.
one more, hi i too have my reversal done in december 2006. i had the patency checked in march to fall pregnant in may with an ectopic pregnancy. I am a christian and prayed that they would take the tube i just spent 8k to fix. it ended up being on the outer fimbrae. I won't be having another one as i have given my problem to God, but if you get the patency done as everyone says- it can clear the scar tissue.
em, how the clomid going? have you had to do anything else?
Hi LUV..
this is my last clomid cycle. My specialist is putting me on the pill next cycle. Its the first steps for my IVF treatment
hi mumof5,
I`m sure there are places here I could have the procedure done but if I go to Melbourne it a good excuse to visit my family over there, will see what the next couple of months bring.
The Dr`s keep telling me its early days yet and stress may be a factor(and also the dreaded trying too hard) the past year has just been full on. We lived in Kununurra WA last year(for the year) in that time I had to fly to Melb for the op then leave my Mum and sisters and head back to WA. Then we decided to head back to Tassie in Dec 06 to start our own business which to say the least has been hectic!! Stayed with the inlaws for 2 months while waiting for the tennants lease to finnish then move back into our house, then trying to fall pg while all this is going on.So I guess you could say it`s been pretty stressful.
Hi Onemore....
I would have to agree with you on the stress factor and moving and life in general. GP seem to be abit on the "easy come easy go side" thats why i have always gone to a specialist about any of this stuff. Having the dye done was good because i was starting to get somewhere and achive things and it only took 30 minutes and didnt hurt abit. Im only 9 months post op and i cant wait any longer (i hate waiting) so we have decided to do IVF.
Hey Maz how you been feeling???? Hope all is well.
My little Floss got the all clear from the pead too.
I've laughed, I've cried, I'm just so so happy!!
Hi mumof5,
I think your right, GP`s I think have an I told you so factor (well mine does) which is what he said in the begining!! I didn`t listen though and look at me now. Also over her in Tassie we dont have any surgeons that perform tubal reversals so I just think going back to the place I had the op would be a better choice, at least they know what they are dealing with. I know the feeling of not wanting to wait but we are not in a position at the moment to try for IVF but I`m sure as time goes by if nothing happens naturaly it will be an option we will hink about.
Hi Storm,
great to hear good news for your little one, and what a beautiful name!!
hi everyone:hello:
we have a change of plan. We are now going back to ballarat ivf clinic
a friend of mine had her baby 2 weeks ago, she went through ballarat ivf and some friends of hers went to geelong ivf. She was telling me 36hrs before they take your eggs you have to have a injection one of her friends forgot, they basically said too bad so sad next cycle, when she told dr dalton in ballarat he said they would of gave her the injection then and there and said come back in 36 hours. I like that feeling . So we have a appointment to see the nurse coordinator on 16th july then we go from there:dance::dance::dance:.
Maz how's the morning sickness going?
storm that great news.
mumof5 how's everything going are you getting closer to ivf?
hi onemore how are you going?
