Just a reminder to all: all LTers love seeing a fellow LTer achieve that longed-for BFP, and we all find hope in one of our own having success in this difficult journey. But please remember that there are those who cycled with you who may not have received good news at the end of their cycle. Please do not post baby/child/pg tickers or pg related signatures (eg blinking BFP icons) etc in this forum out of respect for them.
As it's easy to forget to remove your ticker, please be advised that we will remove it for you if it's posted in here. Just easier, is all.

Hi girls,
Very quiet in here just wondering how you are all doing?
Buliej: have you decided which FS to see for a second opinion and when will you start the cycle with your current FS?
Kel: hope you're going okay, not long now till your appointment.
Lisa: hang in their hun, hope the results will come soon.
WLAB: hope AF stays away.
CP: Cyclecbuddy - looks we'll be doing the antagonist cycle at nearly the same time, I'll probably be a week later than you.
WTH: Are you back from your holiday, hope your little one is going well.
Meredith: Hope things have settled down.
AFM: Not doing much at the moment apart from taking Wheatgrass ( starting to get used to it) and DHEA and trying to relax. Sailing last weekend was really nice was watching the sunset over the lake and taking an early morning walk listening to all the birds.

Just want to hot it up this thread and showing off my new avvy...
Not much to report from my end, waiting waiting and waiting for the next antagonist cycle. Sara, the Org. drug sounds so expensive I am scared. Lucky I am over safty net now so at least the cycle fee won't be too huge.
 to everyone and I hope the two pregnant ladies are doing well...;)
-
CP your avvy is gorgeous!
With the orgalutran just remember that Meredith only had two.

Hi
I just started my next cycle with my current FS - it's a "natural cycle" assisted by clomid. That's it. I'm not very optimistic and really already dreading the retrieval and the phone call about the egg not being good. I guess the one good thing is no jabbing or sniffing.
I also was "told off" by my acupuncturist for not waiting. She thinks I should not do back-to-back cycles - I told her my FS is very concerned about the tickety-tock of the biological clock, but the AP didn't care - she did explain that Chinese medicine looks at things very differently, and my body has to be tip-top to produce good eggs. Meanwhile, I've been spending tons of money on AP and horrible tasting herbs and, other than relaxing while there, it hasn't helped. I don't think it's her skills, she is very good - but I think it's my body. She also didn't like that I haven't been having all my herbs which she knows because I have left over and then don't want to spend more on new herbs. She explained that they are different formulas depending on where you are in your cycle and that I need to "commit" to the herbs.
I do have an appointment with a new FS on 22 April at a different clinic - I figure, I might as well change 2 variables. By that time I should be on the DHEA as well. I hope to start DHEA shortly after my next appointment with the "anti-aging" dr which is on 1 April.
CP - nice avvy!

I'm back :D A little behind on things on this thread. Will do my best to catch up with you all. It was actually very weird not being able to log on these past few weeks. Went a little stir-crazy wondering how you were all doing.
Cuddlepie - a belated  for your BFN. I really thought it was your month. I hope your fibroids keep well away and you are back on your way in no time. The orgalutron sure IS expensive, but my pharmacist did a separate script for each syringe, so I got back I think about $50 for each $90. Then you can claim back another 20% at tax time. BTW I love your avvy, too :D
Sara - hi hon. I have replied to your PM, though I know it might be a little late now.
Buliej - have also replied to your PM. I really hope it has been of some help to you.
Kel - how you going???
Lisa - I have only skimmed the past thread, but from what I gather you are STILL waiting for those results. I know I would be going stir-crazy if I was in your shoes. Hold on - can't be much longer now!
AFM - after going 2.5 weeks with no BT's we had our first US yesterday and managed a beautiful HB. Bubs two days ahead of schedule at 7wks+4 and a good strong HB of 154 bpm. IVF clinic rang me today to say they are closing my file! DH and I are cautiously thrilled about this milestone. Things tend to go pear-shaped for us over the next couple of weeks. First official OB appointment on Friday...
Now, some very sweet people out there have given me two random acts of kindness. I am going to research what this entails, but grateful to be thought of all the same.
-
WTH - I was wondering when your HB scan was - I knew it was shortly after your return. I'm thrilled for you and your husband! Keep us posted with your progress.
-
WTH, welcome back and so looking forward to seeing your new avvy...well done of getting RAK x2! So glad all is going well and you have a strong heart beat, woo hoo!
About the drugs, as I only have hospital cover, I guess I won't be able to claim any back or is medicare covers part of it? How many of Orgorgalutron have you used in your cycle?
Julie, sorry you are feeling a bit pessimestic, its so hard itsn't it? All the anticipations and not even to mention the financial drain. I have to admit that I have lapsed on AP and herbs, for one is that my temp is keep up so APist said all is good to free of herbal medicines, second, my private health insurance is hospital only, so I get nothing back and its just getting all too expensive. I will still do prior and after transfer but stopped the weekly session. Hope this cycle works out for you hun!
-
CP- I am currently debating the same thing - only to use AP before/after transfer - I think that's a good compromise. Thanks for your wishes. Hope you can start your next cycle soon.
-
Hi girls
CP - The org was expensive for me too - I nearly fainted when the chemist said oh that will be $342.00 dollars thanks.. I didnt know you can claim it at tax time
WTH : Well done on a wonderful scan - you must be thrilled, welcome back
Sara : I have never tried wheatgrass - I hope it is the magic ingredient for you
Bullie: I thought you were going to do timed BD with Clomid, I didnt realise you are having an egg pick up, my FS has a patient on dheas, she reallyt did not elaborate a lot on it when I saw her. If you are off to Monash, let me know .. I hope this natural cycle is just what you need
AFM: Temps have been down, so I am waiting for AF to start a new flare cycle. My FS said she will be transfering at day 2, so unless I have little miracle embies, I wont get to PGD ..
I hope everyone's well researched differnt approaches work really well xx
-
Hi girls,
WTH: that is wonderful news, great everthing is fine with your bub. Will keep sending lots of sticky vibes.
Buliej: :goodluck: with your cycle. Wouldn't worry too much about the AP opinion, you have to do what you feel comfortable with.
CP: Think WTH means $50 from her health fund - there is a 20% tax refund for out-of-pocket expenses over $1500
Net medical expenses tax offset
This is per financial year so it makes sense if you need new glasses, go to the dentist etc and you're already over the $1500 to do all this in this financial year.
WLB: Sorry to hear that AF is on the way, keeping fingers crossed for the new cycle.

Have specifically logged back on tonight because I made the terrible omission of Meredith!
Meredith - how are you going, my sweet? I read you have two in there , but have had some bleeding. I  it has eased up and you are coping better with the MS
Cuddlepie - yes, the $50 was from my health fund, but you will certainly be able to get 20% back on your Medicare in your tax return now you have passed the threshold. By memory I had it 6 times the first cycle and 5 times the second cycle.
Wouldloveabubba - Good luck to you with your up-and-coming cycle :crossfingers:
-
Meredith - I have just replied to your post in the PAML thread today. Again, I am  for you and your little one :comfort: Please take care of yourself
-
Meredith have also replied in the other thread. for you.
Sara
-
WTH - It must be really exciting to be a 'closed file', the clinic must be very confident. Well done
Meredith - Hope you're still hanging in there and your 2 bubs are doing well
AFM - yes still waiting :wall: :wall: :wall:

Ladies, just a reminder that this thread is here to support those of you TTC. You are of course able to give your support to past members through PMs, Visitor Messages or through relevant threads elsewhere on the site. We encourage it if you wish to. However, it is not appropriate to have, or to ask, past members provide an update on their pgs in this thread.

Hi Girls,
The weekend is nearly here and I have got another dosage of wheatgrass behind me
Buliej: hope you're going well with the jabbing - when will you have your first ultrasound?
WLAB: Sorry that AF is on the way - what type of cycle are you starting?
CP: looking forward to catch-up
WTH: Hope you are well
:hello: Kel & Lisa
Sara
-
No jabbing for me - only using Clomid this cycle. My first scan is today - late morning.
-
Buliej - sorry don't know how Clomid works :goodluck: for scan
-
Morning Ladies
Julie: Good luck with your scan today, I hope the clomid is working well for you
Sara: Wheatgrass, is that the little shots, you get in a Health Food Shop ?
Cuddle: I too, have cut down on all the extra's, I am not even doing accu this cycle
Hi to all you ladies I have missed
Julie, I could of bumped into you today, I am going in to pay  for my Flare cycle today, and pick up my brown paper bag of goodies ... CD 2 for me ... These embryo's have to stick, or I will be out working two jobs
-
LOL about working two jobs, yeah, soon I will send DH to drive a taxi at the night
I do feel guilty about worrying about $$$, its not that we can't afford it, but its not that we have a money tree in the backyard either...its a fact all the expense is adding up and sometimes I wonder how much money I will save if my body is behaving itself.
Good luck WLB, a new cycle with new hope.
Julie, I hope clomid works wonder for you.
See u Sat morning Sara...
-
Buliej - I think Clomid worked wonders for BettyBoop who used to visit the TTC after MC thread. She was in our age range. I was looking into it before IVF because the higher estrogen levels it causes may improve egg quality. Good luck :goodluck:
Lisa - you are going to put a hole in the wall :wall: Surely, not too much longer....?
Sara - that wheatgrass sounds yucky - must be one of those no pain, no gain thingos right? Read positive things about it - it was the next thing in my bag of tricks to try.
WLAB - My :crossfingers: for you this cycle, hon
Cuddlepie and Meredith - :hello:
Have a great weekend everyone :D
-
Hi everyone
My scan was fine - still early days - lining looks good and 2 follicles are showing - now I just have to hope that there's at least 1 good egg. I have another scan on Monday. The whole issue with this kind of cycle is catching the eggs before they go on their own as you don't take anything to stop ovulation. (Sara - the clomid is just a pill - it's actually a really easy cycle as far as drugs are concerned)
WTH - thanks for that info about Betty Boop - it's encouraging!
You should see our kitchen bench - wheatgrass, vitamins, CoQ10, chinese herbs - the list goes on - sometimes I think what a wonderful business for all these people who support fertility - all of us will do almost anything to give ourselves a boost and they just have to say something may help and I jump.
CP - I wonder the same - we are very fortunate that we can afford to do however many cycles we can stomach - but I just looked at how little our savings has grown over the last 6 months compared to the 6 months prior and the only real variable is the IVF (and the many accupuncture sessions, vitamins etc.). It's rather depressing - if I knew there was a baby at the end of this journey I wouldn't care - but that it all could be for nothing - well, we don't need to go there yet.
Wouldloveabub - we very well could have seen each other - I was in the chemist at Freemasons refilling the Clomid right after my appointment - must have been there around 11:30-ish (I did not have to go back to the clinic after my FS appointment since all I needed was to book a 2nd scan with her)
Hi to everyone else - have a great weekend.
-
Hi Girls,
WLAB - :goodluck: for your new cycle, really hope it's the one for you. Sorry I don't actually know how the flare cycle works - are you using Lucrin but only for a shorter time?
Buliej: great that you scan was good. Hope your follies will grow nicely. Yep, agree about the vitamins my fridge is full of vitamins, can hardly fit any food in. Maybe the solution is we're going in the business of selling this stuff?
CP: did you try the wheatgrass?
WTH: hope things are going well - you are the google queen - is there anything else in your bag of tricks I should know about? :D Seriously, atm I am happy to try anything....
:hello: Lisa & Kel
AFM Agree with you girls with the money issue - it is something that really irks me, when I looked into IVF the first time round with my first husband we would have gotten everythign bulkbilled - probably because PGD was rather experiemental then and we had a genetic reason for it - know every cycle costs us $3000-$6000 out of pocket....and that's without supplements, Acupuncture etc. You shoudl have seen my face last August when the accountant told us.
But anyway, just trying to tell myself that the technique is so much further know and that I am really lucky not to have had children with my first husband anyway.

About the wheatgrass Sara, surprisingly I liked it...I was brave just to mix it with water and drink it and it tastes like Japanese green tea powder...since I like it so much I am definitely going to buy some next week. Can't do any bad right? Plus read the book 'inconceivable', so I might also add in jumping the rope for 15minutes and hot and cold showers tonight...

Hi everyone,
We had our FS appt this morning, and he?s not going to make me wait another month! Hooray! I start Synarel today, stop the OCP on Saturday, and start injecting on the 20th. I?m so relieved he?s not making me wait until next month. I?m going onto 100 IU of Gonal-F this time, not all the way down to 75 IU, which has taken that worry out of my mind that I won?t develop enough eggs. Because of the blasted translocation we need as many eggs as we can get, as you can see from the disaster that was last cycle. This time we?re going to be doing ICSI, too; we?re using frozen sperm because DH will be down south on a course until the middle of May and FS wants to be on the safe side, even though DH?s SA from last cycle was 60 million and 70%. At least it?s only another $410. So we?ll be doing IVF, ICSI, and PGD. God help our bank account. I just pray that we get one good one for an ET this time. I don?t know if I could handle another loss like last time. Fingers crossed!
Thanks to everyone for their kind words over the last few weeks, too, they are very much appreciated (as always). I?ve just been very down in the dumps, so I?ve kept my negative backside away from everybody.
Sara: :hello:
-
Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend.
Sara - ok, my bag of tricks was pretty packed. I have PM'ed you :D
-
Good morning,
CP: that is great that you like the wheatgrass - have a great week. Jumping the rope is probably a good idea, actually I stilll have an old trampoline in the garage, may get it upstairs and start using it again.
Kel: Great that you had a good appointment with your FS. Yes, understand that you needed to take some time out but don't worry about leaving off steam here, that's what we're here for. I think we may be cycle buddies, if they let me start this month will also start with FSH just after the 20th depending on when AF arrives.
WTH: Thanks so much for all your tips, really relieved as I am doing most of those things as well but will think about adding tomato juice and Royal Jellie.
:hello: Buliej & WTH - hope you're both going, thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed for your cycles.
Sara
-
Kel - Woo-hoo! So glad you do not have to wait another month. Best of luck with this cycle :crossfingers:
-
Hi Gorgeous Girls
WTH : Could you please PM me your bag of tricks too ?
-
-
Yipee! I have an avatar :D
-
-
WTH: Thanks for the PM: your a darling. OriginalP, a BB member who concieved with IUI, told me about the protein as well.
Sara: I missed your earlier question... the flare cycle uses the nasal spray (syneral) alternative to the injection Lucrin, it is still a short cycle, like antagonist, different meds though, I did want the injection that is an alternative to Syneral (oops must take it now) brb .......yuk... I did it ... syneral is a LOT cheaper though
Bullie: How did your scan go today, or did you get it mixed up, or are MIVF open today, being a public holiday ? I hope you have good news
Kel - 11 days to the, hopefully last injections you will ever have to have. I am happy your fs has made you happy and given you the all clear
Hello lovely Cuddlepie, hope you are well
AFM: Syneral and Gonal ill Friday, when hopefully the little magical egg we need shows in its follie form on Friday...

Hi everyone
I'd love to do personals - but I'm exhausted - we've had a fun, but very busy long weekend.
I had my scan first thing today - 2 follicles growing - not yet at the right size, but she thinks they will be and wants me to trigger tomorrow for Thurs retrieval. I'm happy about there being 2 because with Clomid, you don't know - 1 is often the outcome. I just hope there's 1 good egg there. Although they were open today, the clinic was so disorganized. They couldn't find my file (my FS said the clinic had it, the clinic insisted FS had it) and thus they weren't able to answer some of my questions. So I'll have to call my FS tomorrow. It wasn't really confidence inspiring.
I too find the wheat grass powder mixed with water to be fine - funny, I thought of green tea as well.
by the way - what's with the jumping rope - what will that do besides help your cardio??
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

HI lovely ladies. Sorry I haven't popped in lately but just lying very, very low atm.
Kel - Oooh how exciting to be starting again now. Thats great news! Hopefully the whole new combo of protocol will bring you that one good embie.
Sara - looking forward to seeing you start again soon too. We need some more good news in here
CP - when are you going again. Are you doing antagonist this time?
WTH - great avvy girl! Just haven't been ready to do mine yet
WLAB - Hoping this is THE cycle for you and lots of lovely eggies in there very soon
Buliej - Yay at 2 follies! Hope things go well on thurs. Darn the silly clinic though! I really hope you don't need to do the switch but if you do, i hope you find Lynn and Monash a bit better for your needs.
-
Hi Girls,
Something strange going on with the thread - can only see Meredith's post once I clicked reply.
Meredith: Nice to hera from you - thanks for cheering us one. Hope you're going okay, was following your story in the other thread.
WTH: Tried the tomato juice on Monday but really do't like it so conveniently forgot yesterday - will be a better girl today.
Buliej: Yeah for the two follies, hope they keep growing nicely - keeping fingers crossed for EPU - just wondering, are you doing ICSI? Don't worry about the jumping rope, it's just a tip from the book of the lady with the high FSH I told you about - guess we're all collecting our bag of tricks. I tend to add everything that I can cope with....as long as I think it can't hurt.
WLAB: Thanks for expaining the flare cycle, keep fingers crossed for ultrasound on Friday - did you take the pill before starting?
Cuddlepie: Not long now - was wondering how much water you use with the wheatgrass, I had done it in a shot glass but after you and Buliej said you don't mind it so much did today one teaspoon on a full glass of water and thought it was quite okay, stupid me
Kel: Great that you can start , hope you;re going okay with the Synarel.
:hello: Lisa
AFM: not much happening, had to cancel my weekend on health retreat as I had forgotten the 50th birthday of a girlfriend this weekend, glad I remembered soon enough at least. Starting to find that with all that's happening on the TTC front it's very hard to keep track of anything else.....
Sara

Buliej - wishing you all the best for your egg retrieval tomorrow. Hope it's a beauty :crossfingers: and the change in protocol has worked out. Looking forward to hearing how it goes :goodluck:
