Hi,
My name's Marcellus and it's been 2 months since I cleaned my house
But I promise I'm going to get clean starting today.
Or possibly next week, depending how today goes.
Thank you.
I'm sneakysparkle and I think Ive only mopped my floor twice this year
I am getting into flylady though - my sink is shiny! baby steps...
Hiiii Marcellus!
I'm Tinks.
It's been 1 week since I cleaned my house. The goggles from the 'what's on your loungeroom floor?' thread are still there :o
I will make my house look like a display home this weekend! I promise
My name is Party of five and its been weeks since ive cleaned my house
the excuse of "the girls have been horrible today" is starting to wear thin
Im too lazy to even make up a story about maybe cleaning my house in the near future
hiiiiii
my name's sloane & i really need another real estate inspection to get my lazy self to clean the house again
i'd like to say i'll be better when DS sleeps better....but there's a very good chance that would be a lie!
Oooh me me me!
Despite my 'best' intentions the house usually goes 2-3 weeks without being cleaned! (bathroom/toilet cleaned, vaccuming and mopping). And dont start on the dusting..urm maybe 4 times a year if it's lucky?
I have an excuse not to mop now though, stupid dog was bouncing around outside and knocked it over so the plastic bit where the sponge goes broke and now the sponge won't stay on. DF did say he was going to buy me a steam mop for mother's day...I'm still waiting and so are my floors
My name is allycat and I am a binge housekeeper :D
I go on cleaning 'benders' for a couple of days each fortnight....then nothing
our walk in wardrobe is called the 'walk in and trod on lots of clothes wardrobe'
Hi all, my name is Glamourcide and my house is far from glamorous!
It's been nearly a week since I mopped my floors... I haven't vacuumed the bedrooms in God-knows how long... :/ My bathroom floor is constantly damp and there's toothpaste on the mirror!
My excuse is always that the baby decides to wake up every time I get stuck into cleaning, and I feel like a horrible mama if I stick her in her walker while I clean up!!
Hi my name is Green Tree Frog and I dont clean ever lol
Its been ages since I have done anything, BHL does most of it  he cant stand mess while I can live with it, just cant be fagged, feel bad that he works 14 hr days and I am a SAHM but thems the breakes...
I admit I have NEVER EVER in my life dusted, so if you have allergies dont come over here :p
Hi my name is MuminAlice and it has been 2 weeks since I vacuumed and washed the floors, 3 days since I did the dishes, and 6 weeks since I did the bathroom (eeewwww). My excuse is DD, she just does not like sleeping in the cot during the day and I can't be fagged doing it in the afternoon. But really my reason is I can't be bothered. I really need servants.. I also NEVER dust, it can only get so dusty and then you don't notice it.
Love it!
Hi my name is Balmaingal and I've been aiming to get around to doing some cleaning since we decided that we could no longer afford our cleaners after their last visit almost 4 weeks ago.
Since then I've mopped the kitchen floor a few times (only happened thanks to the mess DD makes when she eats) and squirted some toilet cleaner down the toilets. I've signed up to fly lady but my sink is still dull and water stained right now!
I'd better get it into shape quick smart as I've got a friend from overseas arriving on Sunday morning!
Hello my name is Marydean.
My friends all think I clean my house but really I just dust and tell DH to vacuum the open access areas before anyone comes over. If you spray and wipe the kitchen about 3 minutes before your guests arrive the lemony scent subliminally suggests you are a functional housekeeper.
The rest is a sty.
My excuse is I've been trying hard to get a job so I can pay another person to do it for me.
And here I was thinking I was the only one.........
I too go on benders where i do a massive clean and it looks beautiful...then bang its a tornado again...I blame it on not liking where we live and the demanding kids :P
My new house will be lovely and tidy....not nessecarily clean but it will be tidy :)
My favourite saying ...A clean house is a sign of a wasted life :)
Oh hands up here.. I am lazy and I don't care who I admit it to now.. Well ok maybe not lazy but so unmotivated. With 6 people in a 3 bedroom house and very little space it only takes one thing out of place to make the house look like shambles..
I did scrub the outside of my kitchen cupboards today and did the bathroom so it looks as though I worked hard but shhhh don't tell Dh it only took about 30 minutes lol
My name is Kat, and if you want things dusted then turn up on Christmas day and you might.. I said might... be lucky.
I can still see an ant trail on the wall that my computer sits against from 2 maybe 3 summers ago. The wall is so dusty that the ants walking made a clean path. My excuse for not dusting is that I am allergic to furniture polish (true). Doesn't matter that you can dust without chemicals LOL.
If I do have the energy to clean up, I then get the "why do I bother" when the kids come home. I do try to do my dishes every night, but other stuff inc floors ... meh
My name's Kaz and I'm a depressed housekeeper with m/s.
My current excuse is that bending over sends off the nausea ... honest! I do plan to clean the ensuite this weekend though ...
Oh you girls have NO IDEA how much I love you all right now. I'm usually more of a lurker but this thread made me grin so much I just had to post...
My name is Kat and today I cannot see my kitchen bench, nor my bedroom floor. I've always been pretty messy and lazy and it's embarrassed me. I feel like it is a sign that I somehow can't manage life or being an adult (a message with a whole lot of yucky family history behind it) and I seriously cringe and want to hide if anyone ever drops in on me. How is it that I can get a postgrad degree, manage a pretty full-on job etc. but I still take my clothes off and just dump them on the pile on my floor 'till I eventually run out of undies and have to chuck said pile in the washing machine??? Part of me is still 15!! Since I've become a Mum it's so much worse. Even less time and energy to do the bare minimum of stuff I used to do, and now added pressure on myself with the idea that if I were a really good mum I'd be better at 'keeping house'.
Now I see that a whole lot of women who I respect and admire (yes, I'm pretty quiet in here but I do read lots of your posts) live a bit like me!!! Yaaaaaaaaayyy. Lets all lie down on our loungeroom floors and make 'snow angels' out of the junk and toys to celebrate!!
My name is Heather...and I just don't see the point!!
I don't iron, never have. My DH does the vacuuming as I don't see the point when not 5mins later it needs doing again.
Mmmmm, generally my as my thingy says, my house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. Live and die by that :)
Get the basics done and that's about it really.
Hi I'm thepixie and I may never have mopped the floorboards in my current house (been here since August 09). It's been at least six weeks since I cleaned the bathrooms and then I couldn't be bothered to clean one of the shower screens in DD's bathroom cause it would have been feral again that night. We even have a robotic vacuum cleaner and half the time I don't let it run cause I can't be bothered to tidy up the toys from the floors... Our landlords came over last week and I didn't even clean for them .
My excuse is that I work three days and just trying to stay on top of the dishes and laundry and look after DD is all I can do.... but I didn't really do it when I was a SAHM either.... I just hate cleaning. A clean house is the sign of a broken computer.
:yeahthat::
Im too lazy to even make up a story about maybe cleaning my house in the near future
But I would love to get a cleaner.... definitely on the list for when we have money again.. whenever that may be :dunno:
Hi my name is Liviam and I couldn't think when I last cleaned my house . I have mount washmore to do tonight as well as picking up my kids toys but I'm on BB and heading to bed soon.
Hi my name is laura and im a BB addict.. oh no wait we're talking about cleaning!!!!
Hi my name is laura and my house is a complete mess.
The only thing i do everyday is vaccume because i hate seeing crumbs on the floor.
My bathroom gets cleaned.. whenever i feel like it... every couple of months or so
My dishes.. well... when i dont have a clean glass LOL
I really need to change DS's sheets but i havnt washed the last lot i put in the laundry basket ohhh say a month or 2 ago :S
I havnt folded the washing in about 2 months its now getting to the point where its a massive task to find something to wear (like undies hehe)
oh god i feel gross
*runs and hides*
I'm HOME!!!! At last i have found like minded women LOL
I am a hopeless cleaner, I usually say its cause I work full time but in reality I am just lazy LOL
OMG, I love you all for being lazy housekeepers.....thankyou for making me feel normal!!!
My dishes are only washed because DH did them.
My bed hasn't been changed for god knows how long. I too still have the sheets from last time I changed them in the bottom of the washing basket.
I have 2 over flowing baskets of washed clothes to fold. One load in the dryer to get out. One load in the washing machine to rewash because I was too lazy to get out said load from the dryer. Then I have an overflowing basket of clothes to be washed...who knew we had sooo many clothes!
I have half a big container of veggie soup int he fridge which I made about 2-3weeks ago that needs to be thrown out. Thankfully it doesn't smell yet. Maybe when it does it will make it to the bin...
The only thing I have cleaned recently is the toilet and floor around it because DD peed all over the seat and floor
The ensuite bathroom hasn't been cleaned in who knows how long. That's DH's responsibility though!
The display cabinet is full of *****. I don't even know what's on it. I don't know what colour it is anymore it's been so long since I've seen it.
Usually I'm a bit of a clean freak....but lately (is the last 6mths- at least!!) I have come to the realisation that really, who gives a ****. If I don't neither does DH, the kids clearly couldn't care less....it's only my mother and the little devil she's left on my shoulder telling me I'm lazy and that she's taught me better that really care....and you know what, I've got better things to do!
Oh, I love you all, you have made my night.
I'm so lazy I can't even be bothered telling you how lazy I am right now.....
oh wait, that's not fair :p
Can't rememebr the last time I cleaned the ensuite, or the oven, (but hey no-one looks in there)... I did scrub the kids bath the other night but that was because I had to rinse out the spilt bubble bath, so I used the facewasher to rub at the really dirty bits while I was there. That's called multi-tasking :D
OMG I love you all!!!! So glad I am not the only lazy person.
We get a cleaner once a fortnight as when DS1 was a newborn I couldnt get anything done as he had to be held all the time and the house was getting me down, now with 2 not a hope in hell of me getting it all done.
I always have washing to be done, washing to be folded, washing to be put away!! I regularly re wash a load as to lazy to fold other washing to make space to hang more!
I dont iron!! I dont even fold DS1 clothes as he pulls them out drawer and chucks on floor!
I have stuff covering bench, buffet, chest of drawers etc, I always meen to sort stuff but it doesnt happen.
Always have stuff in fridge needing chucked!!!!!!!!!!!
We moved to this house early December and still have two and a half rooms that haven't been sorted out yet...one is the office which has DF's desk sorted out (not tidy though but that is his problem) and the other two are storage rooms, they just have boxes of **** stuffed in them, I don't know where to start!
ALso have a giant pile of the last 7 or so months of paperwork that needs to be filed away, includes a TON of invoices from DF's business! I think I just need a box labelled 'filing cabinet' to dump it all in
This is sooo me. I can't see the floor in our 2nd bedroom/study but that is because the contents of the bookcases are all over the floor. But that room is number 1 on the cleaning hit-list as we've got family arriving in 2 weeks to come and stay.
The rest of the house is reasonably tidy (but I did spy a few dust bunnies making a run for it across the dining room floor last night)
Amen, sister!! I am FOREVER announcing to DH that there's just NO POINT, if I mop the floors so they sparkle, the kids come out five minutes later and spread toys, dirty clothes, half-chewed food and bits of dirt everywhere, the cats and dog spread their hair around; they splash around in the bath so the floor gets filthy again and DH can't seem to aim the toothpaste flecks downward so the vanity gets filthy; if I scrub the kitchen benchtops I'm just going to see a clean space as an opportunity to cook something else and make more mess to wipe up... I spend all day cleaning and in two minutes it's trashed! Why bother?! I could spend those wasted hours doing something FUN instead :D
*snigger* this thread is right up my alley...
hi, my name is Boobaloo, and i dread the thought of people just 'dropping in' for a visit, especially anyone in my family as they are all anal-retentives about cleaning.
my house is a $hit-fight at the moment, and i just cannot be arsed doing anything, i hate mess, but am incredibly lazy about doing anything about it. i think it comes down to the whole 'why should i bother, when my kids are messy buggers who will untidy it behind me...'
the only time my house gets a reallllllyyy big clean is when my mum is coming to visit, and she's in afghanistan, so at least she can't surprise me... but i live in fear anyway
i think dp is finally getting a bit fed up though...
OMG i feel normal!!!! :loveshower:
my name is sam and im a lazy thing when it comes to housework....
i really cant see the point in mopping weekly or even more often when the floor boards still look shiney from 4 weeks ago....
why vacum the carpet when the dogs are going to put more hair on there anyway??(this WILL change when worm comes!!)
why wash 2 plates, 2 knifes, 2 forks, 2 glassed and a pot and oven tray every night when i can delay it for 3 days and not waste water????
yep housework is over rated and no one ever appreciated it so why bother?!?!?!?!
 love this thread!!!
Hi, my name is Laura and i can't remember how many months since my house has had a good clean.
I haven't seen the floor in our bedroom for 6+ months. My bathroom is barely passable and my floors are hideous.
I've been sick for over 2 weeks now and just can't rummage up any energy to get to it. And TBH i really jsut don't care enough to get myself stressed out about it. It is somewhat annoying knwoing where all my clothes are though.
Over and out
*love this*
My name is Myboys and i haven't properly cleaned my house for at least 1 month.
I've been struggling with MS and housework is the last thing on my mind.
dusting, vacuuming, mopping couldn't care less right now
My name is ~ Zarava Flutterby ~ and despite my best intentions the house is a pig sty.
I WILL put my schedule to good use NEXT WEEK
My current excuse is cyclone Ava isn't feeling well.. problem is she's actually laying down watching TV not moving.. prob more reason to get things done. :wall:
Oooh, finally a place where I don't have to pretend I'm a neat freak!!
I don't often get drop in visitors, so people who come to my house may think it's a lovely, clean home, ha ha how I fooled them lol.
I make sure the bathrooms and floors are done every 2-3 weeks, and the dishes are done at least every 2nd day lol.
But apart from that, my place is a mess. There are toys and clothes all over the house, it's very messy. I put it down to hating the place we live in, it's awful, however our house is currently being built and I have promised myself to be a much better house keeper when we move in, it'll be mine and it'll be all new and easier (hopefully!) to maintain.
