How many weeks before a BFP

Just wanted to ask you girls how long you were into your pregnancies before you got your BFP? i.e you got faint ones up til 7wks and then a dark second line etc

Check our my www - I have a photo of all six of my +HPT's (and they're even dated! LOL) You can see how dark/faint the lines are. Unfortunately a lot of them have now faded. Damn cheap HPT's!!!

The first two were when I was 14DPO (dated 11.05) and you can see that I did them almost daily thereafter. The darkest result was on 18.05 ie. 21DPO.

With my first pg (lossed :() I got a bfp about 4 days after af was due.

i seriously dont know what cd im on letalone how many dpo i am!
I think i o'd between cd14 and cd16 which would make me between 26 and 28dpo, but thats only if i o'd then. I got a faint line yesterday when i tested with a hpt!

I got a faint-ish line after 3 mins at 14dpo, a line that came up after 1 min at 16dpo and a dark line that came up before the control at 20dpo.

BTW, on that same cycle, I got a -ve at 11dpo!

what is the longest you can wait for before getting a bfp? iykwim?
is it possible to get faints and neg's right into your pg? meaning 7-8wks or so?

Naomi, of course I'm a POAS addict! ROFL :p I still don't believe that I'm pregnant, even though I've just hit the 12 week mark!

I really hope that this is it for you, sweetie! Maybe you should go and get a blood test to be certain one way or the other?

BTW, I think Brooke (B456) didn't get a BFP with her DD until 7 weeks...? Correct me if I'm wrong, Brooke! I know there was someone on here who that happened to...

i got a bfn at 11dpo, but then got a faint bfp at 13dpo and it got darker everyday until about 6 weeks where it was darker than the control line.

This pregnancy - BFN at 9 dpo, BFP at 11dpo (faint).
With my dd I didn't realise I might be pregnant until AF was 4 days late - by then I had a nice dark line.

I did the first HPT using afernoon pee on 11DPO. It was a feint line, but definately a line. I have now done 4, the most recent one yeterday (I think 15DPO?) with morning pee and the test line is as dark as the control line on the most recent one.
I was very suprised to get a positive with afternoon pee as early as 11DPO. It was something I didnt expect!

ok after all this im thinking one more hpt (more for my sanity then anything) and then i'll go to Dr's on Monday! hopefull i can get in the morning (will have to make app 2morrow!) then i can have the results later that day!

If i O'd on time i would be around 26-28dpo making me about 3-4wks pg (if work out from LMP i would be around 5-6wks)

I couldnt buy one tonight, unless i told Rick and thats a big no no until i get the bt results. He took me out and by the time i had time to slip away everything had closed, i guess i'll have to buy one tomorrow and test at mums on sunday morning (although i dont want her knowing either!) bugger.

Can i pee in a cup(like the opk ones) and go and get a hpt and test it with that?

That should be okay maybe cover it with something.
I've used a sample pot in the morning and the Dr didn't use it till the afternoon.

so if i say pee in the opk cup i have and cover it with glad wrap? I can nick off to shops and test when i get back?

Yeah that should be fine. You can buy tests that you dip into wee.

Just try and stay calm. I was going to say have a nice warm bath but you don't have one. Maybe a nice warm shower then to bed.
You should be okay with DTD tonight but if your not 100% it's the right thing to do then don't.

I really want to, I really wanted to last night but he was tooo tired! he told me before later, but that was before he let Vader out again! but i'll make sure it slow and steady if you know what i mean. We havnt dtd for 5days and before that 1 1/2wks, im kinda at my wits ends iykwim! LOL
I will try and hold off until i know!

With the HPTs I bought, it said in the instructions that you could pee in a cup and dip it in for 10 secs. This was one of the midstream ones.

Naomi, I have had to pee in a cup before but remeber if you have to wait a while you should refridgerate it but to test it needs to be at room temp or it won't work.

Just as extra info another site I visit (an american one) there are a few woman over there that have not gotten a pos HPT in the first 6wks of there pg.

I brought Confirm - midstream, didnt realise til i got home that it is an early detection one, does that matter?
Anyway i peed in a cup covered it, didnt refridgerate it and tested about 1hr later, would that have affected the result?

I've never put my sample in the fridge when taking it to the doctors so it should be okay.

i have never used confirm before, so was unsure where the 2nd line would come up iykwim, i dont know if i did anything to affect the test or whether im not pg, or i am pg and it wont register, but after testing i could only just see where the second line would come up iykwim? i cant see it at arms length or anything, i have one more that i plan to do at mums tomorrow, secretly, and see how that goes. I know a bt is the way to go but i need a proper bfp on a hpt to make me feel better iykwim before getting a bt.

Yep got BFN until 13wks i think i only tested once before the BFP. No BT done as it was so clear on the Dr's test and at the time we thought i was only 4-5wks pregnant as i had been having tests done to see why i wasn't falling pg.

I never asked why it didn't show up as i only found out i was 13weeks at the time of the test when i went for an ultrasound at what we thought was 7wks due to pain in my side and they thought i was having an ectopic pregnancy and that is when i found out i was 16wks plus pregnant.

I think having a BT is the only way to go now. Like i said before go down to W&C and get them to do it. You've had the bleeding before so they will check you out and at least that way you will know today and you sholdn't be there long.

Confirm usually do not come up with any evap lines (not with me anyway)!!

my dr closed at 12, and i am about to leave to go to mums for the night, so i will go to Dr's on monday, if i cant get in the morning will try another local Dr so i can get results same day, if i cant do that then i will go to w&c.
But i am going to do that on Monday. Im not stressing and my hopes arnt up (well not like normal anyway) so im not to fased about waiting til monday, it'll only be once monday comes will my hopes etc go up!

so Kah - you dont get evap lines with Confirm? i went and googled it to and only a couple of people over the years have got evap lines with confirm, so im thinking its prob a good brand.

I will be back on tomorrow arvo/night and let you know what tomorrows test says.
