Cool tt40. I put a few things on LAYBY from the BBH sale. 😊 And bought a few minkys..... And a few covers... Also managed to pick up a couple of second hand NN from a Facebook swap & sale group
WOMB- BBH NN med with white PUL cover

Fluffy mail today!
I got a couple of 2nds tuttos (tho for the life of me I cant work out why they are 2nds), and half a dozen for my sil. I hope she likes them coz she's never really got into mcn but wanted to try them at only $12 each.
I also got some second hand nappies while in city yesterday. Two small aio ittis as new for $20, and a nb kissaluvs, 2 bbh small magicalls, and a small gf nn from a lovely BB lady for $30.
Problem is that there's a really good lot of grovia and bambooty nappies on gumtree also, I have spoken to her and she's holding them for me coz I really want them but may end up reselling the bigger ones because I don't really NEED them and my dh might be slightly appeased if I manage to do that (he said last night 'haven't you got enough nappies?'). I actually don't have THAT many compared to lots of other ppl its just that I've got one in fulltime and 3 for sleeps (looks like only 2 soon hopefully ) so I've just mostly been trying to slowly build up a decent supply for bubby when I can get them at reasonable prices. I never pay over $10 each for second hand and don't think I've ever even paid full rrp for a new nappy! Anyway that's probably enough of my self justification for now lol.
-
I don't pay full price for nappies either HSM. My stash is dribs and drabs because of it, but I have saved heaps. My stash has already paid for itself, and DD2 is only 12 weeks old!
So that's totally justification to go and buy more pretties, right?

Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201

-

-
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201

Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
Yay I finally tracked down the new thread on Tapatalk.
How many nappies do you have in your stash folks? I'm not sure we have enough for full time use.
Has anyone used Tuttos or other itti bitti's for night use? How many boosters did you use?
-
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
Ok I was sucked into the bbh sale. I got one large nn, 2 bamboo fitteds and 2 wool covers. Hopefully I can go back to fully clothed bum. My ds kept leaking, so hoping the wool covers really help.
-
Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
Lol WM so was I. I put a bit on layby. Then went back and bought a bit more!
I've fallen in love with minkys! I got a Magic-All minky off eBay and its just so gorgeous! So now I've ordered a couple of minky covers.... DH thinks I've gone a bit insane with buying nappies! Looking at my stash pretty soon I'll be able to get rid/store the cheapies and just use BBH.
-
Frangipani_Lou I wouldn't use tutto's for night use. People swear by boo's but I've not used them.
I have 30+ nappies I think for full time use on one baby :)
-
Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
Frangipani Lou - I've got boo's here but bub is only a month old and they are mediums so he's still a bit little for them. The whole nappy is absorbent do you need a fleece or wool cover over them. Pm me if you want the link for the girl that makes the fleece covers, they are only $10 so much cheaper than paying $40 each for BBH wool covers!
At the moment bub is in small itiis and I have about 20, I have about 25 mediums and more on the way, I do have a bit of an obsession though and have collected some really rare prints. I wash every second day :)

Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
There is also an itti bitti buy and sell page on fb with heaps of cheap itti's. Might be a good place to buy some boos to see if you like them :)
-
I have used boos for night time. They're great, absorbency wise, but the fit is no good for us. I think I have some kicking around somewhere, must dig them out and sell.
We have 70 for two in cloth, plus about 15 terry flats. It's plenty, we can go a full week without washing. We decided it was cheaper to buy more than to buy and run a dryer.
-
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
i just picked 6 osfm earfts (pul pockets) and 18 bamboo boosters for $20. will be our backup in winter or if we go away or she decides to 9 poos in one day again
-
Woohoo TT hope they are worth it, at that price its hard not to be!
Well dh is picking up the bambooty and grovia nappies after work tonight -YAY! It's 7 brand new bambootys 2 new nb grovias, 8 grovia covers & 18 inserts (excellent hardly used condition) all for $150. Plus my sil is going to 'buy' the larger grovias off me, well that's what I've told dh just didnt mention to him we've planned on me getting them back when her lo outgrows them lol. I think its a pretty good deal considering even used I should be able to get around $10 each for them... In the unlikely event that i sell them haha.
Just on grovia though does anyone on here use them and what do they think of them? I got my local 'nappy lady' to bring some over for me to have a closer look at and they do seem good. I had thought they were pockets which would quite honestly probably have meant I'd sell them on straight away. They seem really small for a osfm though, they definitely wouldnt fit ds2 now who's 19mths and wearing large itti AIOs (only just mind you!)
To the person that asked about itti bittis for night, I have used tuttos overnight and still would if I ran out of other options. I think it depends on the fit on the particular baby tbh. I use the usual 3 boosters and extra mini booster, I think its kinda only just enough but since ds2 is so big now I really can't squeeze anything else in there. If you're after trying boos check out australianbabysupplies they had them on sale just the other day and from memory it was even cheaper than itti website.

Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
Thanks HSM. I'll probably give the tutto a go a night with all the boosters like you suggested. DD isn't a very heavy wetter.
WOHB itti bitti AIO in red.

Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
Lol about your SIL HSM! My SIL and I have started using cloth around the same time and when I get a huge buy I also tell DH she is 'buying' some of it. Since they are even more strapped for cash than we are it's 'on tab'. She will pay me back when she can and until then we trade babysitting and picking up kids.
-
HSM, I use Grovias on my 5 month old, and have found them them fantastic for absorbancy, ease of use and fit. We never get daytime leaks, though we have been at night until my nappy supplier suggested adding an extra cover (it's a Flip cover, I think made by BumGenius) at night, which has solved the problem.
We have, however, just had a sudden onset problem of deterioration, which I am about to ask for advice regarding it in a separate thread. My nappy lady is hopeful that Grovia will come to the party with replacements, though.
-
Oh wow pholi what a pain! What do you mean by deterioration? Is it just the covers? After only 5mths use that's actually pretty bad, having said that I meant to contact the grovia rep here in Australia (cant remember her name Christine maybe??) because the pocket hem came undone on both my grovia pullup things within the first 2wks of having them. It doesn't affect the use so I never got around to it but apparently she's usually very helpful. I hope you're able to sort it out soon.
PS can't wait till dh gets home tonight so I can have a proper look at my newbie nappies he picked up for me last night!... Course I just wanna see him as well as nappies after a week away but still :D
ETA never mind my question pholi I just read your other post ;)
-
I hate my grovias. I got them because they're cute, but they're so un functional. DD2 could wet through the newborn AIO in half an hour, from 2 weeks old, and DD1 had outgrown her OSFM hybrid before she was even two, and she's not a big hoofer.

Cattie have you seen the itti bitti offer for today and tomorrow? 60%off 4 packs of dlish and tutto packs. Breathe... Breathe... I'm chanting... I don't need more nappies...I don't need more nappies!
Wohb IB SIO in turquoise
-
Fl yup I almost bought two packs but changed my mind last minute lol. Great value and I do need a few more but wanted aio (sold out) plus their new prints... we'll see what the rest of the festival brings tho!
-
I was going to buy 2 packs yesterday but I already have all the colours and I know there will be other sales and offers in the next 2 weeks so ill hold off. Im looking forward to buying some more of the new colours.
Lou - What size SIO Turquoise are you after?
-
Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
I've got 2 turquoise sio's and 1 AIO so I'm not needing anymore at the mo thanks.
-
Was about to change my mind but they're all sold out now except smalls :o We'll see what tomorrow brings! I like the new colors better (not so bright) but not sure they'll discount those, they want to get rid of remaining stock which seems to be a lot of red, rockmelon and yellow...

Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
ok...really random question. Spock does a poo and I clean it with the little squirt, so its wet...no that ive wet the shell but the insert is wet (actually on my pockets that would mean those shells are wet). now I dry pail, but what happens when I then stick there in the bucket, as someone previously said dont wet pail the shells... basically my question is it still ok to stick them in the bucket like that? I do wring them out. longest they sit in the bucket is 2days (probably day and half)
did any of that make sense? =p
-
Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
I dry pail my shells all the time; I think I've only heard one that might be slightly crinkly in 3.5yrs of cloth and that could be the vac bag storage between boys
-
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
yea dry pail is okbut it was wet pailling shells people said were bad and I didnt know if the wet inners would be too wet itms
-
Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
I do what you do tt40 And have not had any issues.
-
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
cool. thanks. I just want to make sure my shells last as long as possible for multiple kids.
I think im going to need a 2nd bicket tho.our fills so fast.
-
:

What you're doing isn't wet pailing your shells. That's dry pailing wet shells. No probs with that. It's what we do, and all of our nappies have lasted two kids.
Prepped for a week of rain here! Got both kids in terry flats for faster drying.
-
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #201
thanks A, thats exactly it (explained heap better than I could. all good, cause I didnt even realise wet pailling was bad for the shells.
pps. Spocks nappy rash is a million times better =) thankyou for the liners. I use then at night when I lather her in the zinc cream. and still using bm and moo goo during the day and seems to be doing the trick
