I thought while Noah is on the boob it would be a great time to post. I find I am not online much anymore, I can't stop staring at Noah and playing with him. I keep thinking that someone is going to knock on my door and ask to have him back. Justin and I got lucky, our little man loves the booby eats every 1 1/2 hrs, sleeps well and only cries during nappy changes and fusses while being put into the bath. That being said, I had a nightmare labour which I will get around to telling about sometime, it was a long 2 days.
So hello to all the May Mummies, I can't wait to chat when I figure out some sort of schedual, this is my second day out of hospital after all. I will pop in as much as possible.
Tan, best of luck with your induction, I can't wait to hear the news!
-
Hugs to Jan and Dan and Danni & Sarah (are you joining us here Danni?!?!)

Thought id just introduce myself. Im quite busy at the moment, and also just soaking up my little darling, not online very much also at the moment but will be soon im sure.
-
just dropping in to see if there was any news on tan?
its hard to get online now huh? ;) i wasnt even sure if i was gonna join the babybuddy thread but i missed everyone!
baden is having a bad day today. he wants to be held and everytime i think he is asleep and go to put him down he just cries and cries and cries. i cant wait for hubby to get home.
we are going to get some pixie photos done tomorrow afternoon, using our free coupon out of the bounty bag. i didnt realise we dressed them though - i thought they dressed them up. now i have to go shopping and try and find something to fit baden. he is just wearing bonds 0000 suits at the moment. normal 0000 clothes are still to big!!! i hope i can find something cute. i also hope he doesnt cry!!! fingers crossed.
hope everyone is happy and well.
-
It is hard to get online, not so much to read the posts but to write one? I just want to spend my days staring at Noah.
Lee- Badens photos are gorgeous, he really is tiny. Good luck finding a cute outfit for tomorrow. How long did it take for the pain of the c/s to go away? Everytime I try to get into or out of bed I feel like someone has stuck hot razors into my scar. It has been 4 days since the surgery though.
Time for yet another feed, it has been every 30 mins since lunch now, must mean a big sleep is on it's way..
Will keep checking for news on Tan, I hope her induction went better than mine.

Yay! Great news Danni, the way my boobs are feeling I was almost going to offer you my milk ;) I begin operation express tonight. Noah is doing a good job atm he has been attached to my bb for the last hour now.
-
thats so great sarah!! I had so much milk for the past 4 weeks that I was gunna offer it to others too! ;)
Yes do express, it can help Juz to bond with him too.
-
Really quick one from me. Just wanted to check if there was any news from Tan????
Hope everthing is going ok for them and she's holding her little one in her arms.
-
Hi Nurse Dan. My name is Leanne and my bubba Kaitlyn turned one on 9 May!!! Congratulations on the birth of your little princess Olivia. She's gorgeous. Seems like just the other day I was introducing my little one.
Enjoy !!!! And to all the other May 2007 mumma's and bubba's. It's a great journey.
-
Yeah where is the news from Tan?
Danni I commenced operation express last night with very little success. it is the first time I cried since Noah was born. 1 hour produced 10ml.
I have a poo question, Noahs poos are very watery with mustard coloured micro pebbles but sometimes there is more sometimes there is less, this started yesterday. He isn't running a temp or anything though.
A whole new bag of worries once the munchkins are out!
-
Just a quick one for me ATM just to introduce myself.
Your name: Melissa
Partner's name: Paul
Ages: 26 & 30

Baby's name: Isobella Rose
Sex: Girl
First, second, third etc baby: First baby
Birthday: 4 May 2007
Time: 1:06 AM
Weight: 4300 grams or 9lb 8oz
Length: 52cm
Head Circumference: 34cm
Natural or C-Section: Vaginal birth with gas, episiotomy.
How many weeks gestation: 39 weeks and 5 days
-
it seems all vag births had episotomoies :(
Sarah: keep pumping, dont stress. and the poo is normal
-
I would have rather had a vag w/ epi than a c/s anyday. I want to have 4 kids though and now I can only have 3 :(
I will keep on trying to pump if I can be bothered, my bb hurt a bit so I might give it a rest for a few days. The poos are starting to thicken up again thank god, I was starting to think the worst.
Noah is sucking his thumb right now, it is so cute! Well my scar is hurting like nothing else so I might put my feet up and see if that helps. I can't be stopped with cleaning and I think it is doing a number on me.
-
Hi guys!!! Just thought I would pop in here and introduce myself!! Toby is still in the SCN, this is his 12th day, but GUESS WHAT!!! We are picking him up today!!! I'm so excited, I can hardly contain myself!!!!!!!! So I'll be in here soon after I calm down and get used to my new little man being home!! Hope everyone else is going great!!
Danni, YAY for your milk coming back!! Mason will be happy!!
Sarah, I had a c/s too, my second one and this time I am taking Nurofen if I need it every 4 hours. And I read on the box that breastfeeding mothers can take it. I hope that helps you. I so know what you are feeling ATM!! Really try to rest too, that helps so much..

Danni just had a look at your latest photos, Mason is adorable. How much is he weighing these days??
And Happy one week Noah. Oh and Sarah STOP being a compulsive cleaner it isn't going to do you any good!!!
Lee how did the pixie photos go?? I am going to get Isobella's done soon too, maybe at the end of the week or the beginning of the next one.
Dan how is Olivia going?
Alex how is it having your little man Toby at home?
Ashlee I wouldn't have said Isobella was small with a big head - LOL I would have just said she was big all over - At 4.3kgs.
We had our birthing class reunion on Saturday. It was fantastic to see everyones bubbas; but the oldest one in the class (her name was Tahlia) and she was born at 2.28kgs 6 weeks ago and my Isobella was the youngest at 2 weeks old and twice her size!!! I have put the photo in Isobella's web site and some others if you want to have a squiz

Hi girls, Noah has been sleeping for the last hour and I figure I have another 20 mins before he wants his next feed, maybe I typed too soon  Everything is going well, he has a healthy appetite and today I started writing down the schedual today and he is feeding every 1 1/2 hours or more frequently like 5 mins every 15mins. Eek I did speak too soon. My nipples just seem to get more and more sore :crying: The funniest thing today is I let my dog in to give her a bath and when I picked her up my let down refllex went into action. Just goes to show how bonded I am with my dog.
I saved all the info of us May Mummies into a word doc so I can have a read at some stage and get to know the girls who were not in the same belly buddies thread. I can't wait to have a moment to catch up, I will try for later on tonight. Noah just finished his feed and promptly soiled his nappy so I better change it then get dinner started. Hope everyone is enjoying their babymoons as much as I am!!!
-
-
sarah: noah is feeding too frequently and youre gunna get worn out! Are you still expressing?
I have found that Mason is NEVER satisfied from breast feeding alone, he always needs a bottle afterwards as a top up, or a full bottle.
-
Danni, I am trying out feeding on demand and seeing how it works, it seems to be working well in the fact he never cries unless getting a nappie change or undressed but it is time consuming. My only concern atm is that he may not be getting enough hindmilk. I will be calling the ABA and getting advice from them in the next couple of days when I work out the pattern. There he goes doing the tongue movements again letting me know he wants the boob, it has only been 10 mins, I will try to distract him first. Oh the fun being a glorified milk machine ;)
-
apparently it is now claimed that there is no such thing as hind milk and that it is all good for bubs. However I reckon my beginning is much different than the end.
Give them a ring and see what they say babe....but dont wear yourself out
-
Hi there mummies,
With dinner done and Olivia sleeping soundly I thought I'd pop on and catch up with everyone.
Tan - Hope you're enjoying your little girl and recovery quickly. Can't wait to see a photo.
Danni - You're little man is growing so quickly I can't believe it. It's fantastic to hear that your milk is back. Aren't our bodies amazing?
Sarah - Sorry to hear your nipples are sore. After each feed I rub hindmilk into each nipple and let them air dry. It seems to help me alot. Something to try maybe. It's a great idea to call the ABA. I visited a lacation consult last Thursday (the best thing I've done) and will visit her every week until I'm comfortable enough to stop. I agree with the others, don't worry so much about the housework. My house is a complete pigsty and we have to move this weekend :wall:.
Lee - Hope Baden's feeding is all sorted out for you and that you are loving being a mum. I love checking out your website for photos.
Kelly - Welcome home gorgeous. Hope you are recovering well and you and Lukas are settling in beautifully to home. Can't wait to see some photos.
Mel - You sound like you are absolutely loving being a mum and eveything is going well. I hope it is for you two. How's your gorgous girl? Here photo is gorgeous. She is so alert. Olivia sleeps so much that we are still waiting for the have those gorgeous awake periods.
Ashlee - Your little man seems to growing quickly to after this early arrival into the world. How long was he in the nursery for?
Alex - Well how amazing was it picking up your little man today? Can't wait to see some photos.
Olivia, Dave and I are going along really well. She sleeps for anything up to 5 hours at a time, wakes up for a feed and goes back to sleep. She has regained the weight she lost in the first few days. Our breast feeding is going good NOW. I have to use a nipple shield or she has no hope at all of attaching and express after each feed. It is working well.
This week is going to be chaos. We are moving on Saturday, haven't packed a single thing and our house is a pigsty. Tomorrow is the the start of us cleaning and packing. Dave heads back to work on Monday so after our feral weekend and not having his help I'm unsure how I'm going to go without him here to help. I think that is going to be a bigger shock to the system than coming home.
Well I'm off to have some ice-cream and head off to bed when CSI finishes.
Catch up soon,
Luv Dan.
-
Dan: so great to hear youre doing so well! Persevere with the nipple shield for a week or so and then try to latch her again with the help of the LC. Mason was on a shield for 2.5 weeks and now he is on his own :D
-
Dan-That is excellent news that breastfeeding is happening for you!!! Blake is growing well, he was born 2870g, lost 220g, went back up to 2950g, then to 3200g then 3600g at last checkup over a week ago. He has been feeding almost DOUBLE the amount he was though so I predict he will be close to 4kg next time we weigh him :D He was in special care for 7 days, it felt like 7 years though, and they wanted him in there longer on the feeding tube, but I refused and made them take it out. They are so lazy, rather chuck it through a tube than persevere with a bottle!!
Wow sorry that got so long and out of hand lol
-
Hi Everyone, hope you are all well rested this morning.......
Glad to see you in here Kelly and can't wait to hear more from you about your little man and to see some pics
Dan sounds like you have a great schedule with Olivia already. 5 hours is a great sleep! How long does she stay awake for in between sleeps?? Oh a good luck with the move. I hope it isn't too stressful.
Isobella is good still hasn't really settled into a routine yet and she was a really restless the night before last and all day yesterday. She seemed to be very clingy and unsettled wanting to feed constantly; but because I wasn't getting a long enough break and some rest in between feeds I wasn't producing enough milk to satisfy her. SO I had to send hubby out to get some formula to see if that would help. But alas like the dummy she wouldn't take the bottle. So I had to try and squeeze some in at a time until she had atleast 30mls and then gave her the 'real thing' to settle her. Hopefully she is better today; as I was really struggling not to loose the plot especially since I hadn't had more that 10mins sleep at a time. I finally got her to sleep at 2am with a quick feed at 5 without her fully waking up and she is just stirring now.
But you are right I am loving being a mum and she has been so alert since the day that she was born and she is such a strong little thing!! And she has such a beauuutiful smile!
Actually Sarah you should be careful that the same doesn't happen with you. Make sure you get the rest in between. I was told by a midwife at the clinic that the more you rest the more milk you produce. So forget the cleaning in between.
Wow Ashlee that is fantastic weight gain for Blake. You sound so relieved that you have him home and with you. It must be a great feeling.
Well better go see how little miss is as my milk is fully loaded and ready to go.
Chat later mummies xx
-
HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!
My first post since I've come back from hospital over the weekend, with our gorgeous darling little girl. Energy has been sapped (as well as my time) so barely have a chance to come on here anymore! Should settle down so I can read about your lovely little ones as well I'm sure :D
Quick shout out to all of my May Belly Buddies - can't wait to hear how everyone is going!!
As for me - here we go!!
Your name: Kristen
Partner's name: David
Ages: 27 and 40
Location: Victoria
Baby's name: Mia Charlotte
Sex:Girl
First, second, third etc baby: First baby
Birthday: 15 May 2007
Time: 4:22pm
Weight: 8lb 8oz
Length: 52cm
Head Circumference: 35cm
Natural or C-Section: Vaginal birth with some gas and NO TEARS! YAY!
How many weeks gestation: 40 + 6
Tan - CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Isabelle. I think it's absolutely wonderful that we have so many Isabelle/a's from the May group! We decided on Mia in the end otherwise it would have made another one from us as well!! haha
Danni - Can't believe how old Mason is already! I am having milk problems too - Mia developed jaundice in hospital and had to go under lights as well as be supplemented with formula to flush it out as I wasn't producing enough. I've hired the same commercial pump I used at the hospital which I have at home now ($33 a week but so worth it if it will get my supply up quickly) so hopefully that will do the trick. Glad to hear it's back to normal for you.
Sarah - Darl - I hear you about the nipples!! Mine are KILLING - dry, cracked, grazed, red, bleeding, blistering... TERRIBLE. I had midwives in the hospital check my attachment each time and it's still not right. I think I might see a LC for a day.
Actually, can anyone recommend a great one in Melbourne? I'm out west.
Lee - How is the feeding going with Baden?
Kelly - Welcome home!! Can't wait to hear more about how things are going with you!
Mel - You sound like you are getting about as much sleep as me!! haha ie - NONE! But it's so worth it isn't it??!
Ashlee - WOW! Sounds like the feeding is going brilliantly!! Congrats on his fab weight gain!!
Alex - Congratulations on your little one coming home!! How is it going now?
Dan - Glad to hear feeding is going well. How has the nipple shield helped? is it just to protect damanged nipples, is that the point? Or help attachment? Haven't used them yet but maybe I should? Good luck with the move too - I don't know how you do it!!
As for us, it's Mia's week birthday today (haha, I'm going to be one of those mums.. I can feel it... everything will be a milestone ;)) and I am LOVING being a mum.
The website has been updated with a couple of her pics for you to have a look at as well and I will get around to posting her birth story as well. Although it was really difficult and bloody painful I am so glad to be home with her and stare at her all day long. I still don't quite understand how she fit in there... but she's SO CUTE!!!!!
