Zofia - of course its fine for you to stick your head in here and to let us know how Diana is doing - cant believe she is 3 weeks already!
-
ooo I hope im in here soon!!!!!!
Congrats lovlies!!!!
-
Hello ladies, its so good to be on the other side, congrats to all who have made it and good luck to those who are still waiting.
Tyler Jackson was born on the 6/7 at 7.45pm after a 5hr 15min labour, weighing in at 7lb7 (3375gm) and mesuring 50cm, HC was 34cm.
He is a little brother for Riley who is already very protective of him, going as far as to tell the midwife trying to do bubs cheak(sp?) a short time after the birth that she wasnt to touch his baby.
-
Roudysmum, how cute!! My little girl I don't think is old enough yet to really understand what Jack is or who he is. But she does kiss him which just melts my heart and calls him bubba.
Zofia, of course you can be apart of this thread. How is your little girl going? Did she spend any time in the special care unit? I nearly had Jack at 32 weeks, and I can tell you it scared the hell out of me, I hope Dianas birth wasn't too scarey for you. Did they try to stop the labour or let you progress? So many questions sorry:redface:
Kristy, Jack is doing really well. He is just a loud sleeper though. It's hard to know most times when he is asleep, stirring or awake. We want to take him out of our room, but there is really no where else to put him. Can't put him in the lounge room as DH is up for work at 4am most days, so that would wake him. And we only have one other room that Charlee is in. There is the sun room, but I'm afraid if we put him in there we won't hear him as it's the furtherest point away from us in the house. But other than this, he is just perfect. I'm so in love with him.:p How is little Maddison going? I just love that name too. How is the C/S healing? How long does it normally take to heal?
Isiss, how is little Jordan doing? You poor thing having to cope through labour for that long. I couldn't imagine it.
I know this must sound stupid, but just out of curiosity. Of those of you who are B/F I'm just curious to know how often your bubbas are feeding. With Charlee I was feeding her every 2 hours during the day, with longer gaps at night. Jack is similiar too. Does this sound similiar to your patterns?
-
Hi Roudysmum, I cant wait to hear all about Tyler. What a wonderful strong name!
Mel - Maddison is doing beautifully. She is still quite yellow in colour, I think its improving though. Have a mch appt on Thursday so I guess I will get an update then. I am bf, but Maddison is still quite a placid little one (if you can remember me freaking out because she was rather quiet in my tum!) She seems to still be quite quiet - not that I'm complaining, but know it could be cause she was small and born at 38 weeks, and is only just becoming herself. Today she actually stayed awake for over an hour after a feed which is amazing. Usually I definately have to wake her to give her the other side by changing her bottom (it is a cute bottom though - lol.) As for how ofter, she is only having 6 feeds a day - sometimes 7, roughly 4 hourly, but sometimes she will wake after 3 hours and I have done a couple of feeds after only 2 hours. My boys fed alot more regularly, definately 3 hours, if not 2, so Jack's feeds sound quite normal. Maddison is having one bottle (around the 6-7pm feed) a night of EBM since coming home from hospital. Jacksen gave it to her tonight, he was so excited.
Tomorrow will be Maddison's EDD, and I'm a little sad knowing that I wont experience this ever again so I am trying to soak up every minute. Kinder also goes back tomorrow so it will be a huge wake up call, as atm I have been feeding Maddy her morning feed then going back to bed and sleeping till 9:30am. I will have to ensure I am organised the night before. I have recovered really really well from the c/s, in fact my recovery in hospital was amazing. I was on less pain relief than with the boys, and came home feeling hardly any pain which was really lucky cause the poo hit the fan at Chris' work and he worked everyday last week except Friday. There was no way he would've been able to do that after the boys. Little frustrating I cant drive still with how good I'm feeling but I wont jeapardise(sp) my recovery as I know internally may not be as healed as I feel.
Ok, with kinder back on, I should manage to get back on here more often and I should have photos up on Maddison's website tomorrow finally. Will let you know.
We will have to start a list going, with our July babies and their mummy's names soon. So far we have 3 boys and 2 girls (of those who have joined us in here so far!)
Just noticed I havent done Maddy's details so here they are (I just copied your format Mel - hope thats ok?)

Welcome Tina and Mikayla. Of course we dont mind you popping your head in!
Now we have 3 boys and 3 girls - yay!
Mel - I completely jinxed myself with the feeding comments. Maddison did a 3 hourly then a 2 hourly last night!
I have put some photos of Maddison on her webpage (link at the bottom of my signature.) Have do I go about putting a photo of her next to my ticker? Help?
-
Oh,
You guys are all doing sooo well,
I hope jnr decides to at the very least arrive on time, so I may join you all.
-
Hi everyone
Wow, this thread is quiet compared to the belly buddies one! (No surprise there, lol.)
Diana is doing really well. At 4 weeks she weighs 3.25kg, which apparently is excellent. Yay! She was 2.485kg at birth.
Mel – My labour was okay, more painful than expected but not too scary. After my waters broke they didn’t try to stop the labour, in fact I was part of a trial where they induced it. The only scary bit was right towards the end, after I had been pushing for nearly one and a half hours and it turned out that Diana’s head was facing the wrong way, which was why she wasn’t coming out. The doctor asked if I wanted “help in getting the baby out”. For a moment I thought that I might need a cesearean or that there might be complications, so that was frightening. What ended up happening was that I got an episiotomy (which I had been scared of before going into labour) and they pulled Diana out with forceps (which I had also been scared of before). Funny how both of the things that I had been frightened of while I was pregnant ended up being okay during the birth. And I am extremely grateful that Diana didn’t need any time in the special care unit. All she needed was three nights treatment for jaundice on a billi bed (which she hated, but got through okay).
Re feeding – I am breastfeeding Diana and she is getting EBM once a day when I am at work (twice on Mondays when I work the whole day – I am thinking of negotiating a half day as I do for the rest of the week) and another bottle of EBM at night. Overall she feeds on average every 2-4 hours. If we are lucky, she has one stretch of 5-6 hours sleep once a night, but unfortunately this hasn’t happened too often yet. I am hoping that as she gets older, she will get better at sleeping for longer.
Rebecca – I’m sure that you will be welcome here no matter when your baby arrives. :)
Hope you all have a good night.
-
After cracking it with Maddison's old website, i have re done one for her, which you can now view her photo gallery. Link above my ticker.
-
Hey everyone!! Not long and I get to join the baby buddies - I cant wait!!!
I hope everyone is enjoying their little bundle of joy
:)
-
Looking forward to having you join us V - and hearing all about your gorgeous girl!
-
Yeah V, hurry up and join us, we need some added chatter in here.:p Can't wait to hear about Avaleighs arrival.
-
I'm just excited to see that we are on page 2 - lol. Doesnt take much to excite me, does it!!!
-
Hi everyone
I keep forgetting that I can post in here now as well!! YAY!
I reckon this will end up being a very busy baby buddies group!!
I had best go and eat my kit kat - my excuse for still eating chocolate is that I am breast feeding which helps with losing the baby weight so I can eat what I want for now LOL!! I can justify anything.
Take care
Jem
-
Good Afternoon all, i hope everyone is doing well and managing to cope with the lack of sleep.
Tyler had his first cheak up on thursday and is doing realy well, not only has he regained his birth weight but he has added another 300 grams aswell:dance:, which is a relief for me as i thought he wasnt getting enough cause he wanted to feed every 2 hrs but it turns out that he just likes the booby (typicle male:lol:). He has also grown 2 cm.
Can anyone tell me how to make my own web page, I would love to be able to do one for the boys so my family can keep up with all their mile stones.
-
Jemima - LOL re the kit kat. I use the same excuse for eating tim tams every day. I swear that breastfeeding makes me crave chocolate more than I have ever craved it in the past.
Roudysmum - good to hear that Tyler is doing well. :) Re the website, I have a free website on babysites.com. There are other sites that also provide free websites for your baby. Just follow the links on the bottom of people's tickers here to see their sites. Most of them have instructions on how to join and construct your own site. Hope this helps.
-
Hey Everyone!!!
Hopefully by next weekend I will be joining this lovely baby buddies room. I cant wait to graduate here!!
:happyforyou:
-
Jem - I'm using that excuse for still eating junk too - we leave for QLD in just over a month and bet I'll regret it then but in the meantime - give me chocolate - hmm I think their are still Humpty Dumpty easter eggs in the back of the cupboard!!!
Roudysmum - Yay for Tyler, what fantastic weight results - lol at loving his boob! Keep it up little man. As for websites, I have tried a view but have found totsites dot com very easy to set up!
Zofia - how are you going with work and Diana?
-
V, just wanted to jump on and wish you good luck for this arvo. How exciting, can't wait to hear all about it.
Hi to everyone else, don't have much time this morning to do more personals DH 3 brothers are up and it's crazy here in our 2 bedroom house with 2 babies and 5 adults.
Hopefully I'll have time this arvo to jump back on.
Take care mummies.:D
-
Wow mel - you do have your house full! Did you have any success with Jack and the magic you were going to try?
-
Thank you Kristy and Zofia for those links I will try them and see what i can come up with.
Good luck to you too Veronica not long to go now, you must be getting excited.
-
Hi girls just thought I would pop in so I can keep up with you. I will copy in some of my post from preg buddies:
Well Angus was a dream last night and fed at 9pm, down by 10pm and woke at 4am for a feed then a bit unsettled till 6, then back to sleep till 9am. Cooper was the one that woke the entire household at 5.30am!!!!
Angus is the most relaxed calm little thing, thankgoodness, as life hasn't changed too much, just got alot busier!!!
We have my DH's brother and partner for tea tonight too, so had better go and get organised. We have had visitors here everyday since I got home!
Hope everyone is well and will have a good read and catch up when I get a chance.
-
Wow Relle - what a fantastic little man you have there! I think he needs to give Maddison a stern word! xo
-
Just a quick one from me. I hope everyone is doing really well and your babies are going along beautifully.
I had the weirdest dream last night. I was at my house and Mel you were here along with Jack who was still only a few weeks old and two of my friends. Well you started to have labour pains and you gave birth to another baby on my lounge floor all within a couple of minutes and you didnt even know you were pregnant again!! I cant remember what what else went on. So what does all that mean LOL????
O and J are in child care today so we are going to enjoy only having one child at home!! Trut be known I will prpbably sped the day catching up on jobs!!
Take care
Jem

Maddison had a cr*ppy night last night - not very settled so my eyes are hanging out my head today. The bathrooms are suppose to be getting started today so am just waiting for the men to turn up (and due to my tired mood, they better not be just hot - they better be super dooper hot - lol) I then have to whip down to the chemist to fill a prescription for Jacksen, as he is suppose to be taking this medicine to clear his nose up, as he is going in to have his adnoids removed (grrr dont get me started on this - this is a repeat operation) and some tests done tomorrow. I will go with him, and take Maddison obviously, Harry is having a day with his aunt and then a sleep over with my mum. Chris will also be with us, as I just cant go into the operation with him again and watch him get put to sleep - I can picture his scared face from last time - and I am still way to hormonal to do it, but I will be there before and as soon as he comes out! I feel sick just thinking about it - Jacksen is my quiet boy who you have to tell 'its ok to cry if you are hurt' especially in front of people. Arrggg - not going to think about it!
Anyway, have booked Maddison's 4 weekly appt in for next Thursday (she will be exactly 1 month  ) and then have to contact my gp and see if they will do her 8 week immunisation a week early due to us going on holiday.
Hope everyone else is well. xo
-
OMG Jem thats scarey, must get my script for the mini pill filled asap. I would love to know what dreams mean too, I have some crasy a55 dreams as well.
Maybe it was just your body venting from all the pre labour crap I put you all through during the lead up to Jacks birth.;). I like the sound of your dream though, it sounded like I may have had some friends:rolleyes:. Anyway I hope I don't cause you anymore nightmares.
Kristy, sorry to hear little Maddison didn't sleep very well last night. Fingers crossed for you the workers are super dooper HOT;)
Relle, what's your secret? Sounds like little Angus is the perfect baby. And when are we going to hear about the speedy birth?
Us, Jack has the plastibell (sp?) put on today. I have numbing cream that I need to smother on his willy 2 hours before he is due to get it done. They say they don't feel a thing using it, and in 3-7 days time, it should be all healed. So fingers crossed he is 3 days. I'm hoping Jack's majic juice turns up today, had another very restless sleep last night, but the night before was reaaly good, so I'm hoping it was a one off:pray:
Anyway must be off and get ready for the day while Charlee is asleep.
Take care all.
-
Hi everyone
Kristy - must be something in the air. Diana had a very unbsettled night last night too. She just cried and cried. At first I was worried as I thought she was hungry, but she wouldn't feed. I had a moment of panic where I thought that she had forgotten how to scu or something! But, no, turned out that she just wanted cuddles, so Stan spent most of the night rocking her, while I tried to get at least a bit of sleep so that I could be coherent at work this morning. So far, so good. I hope Jacksen's operation goes well. Hugs.
We have had a busy weekend. My mother came over to visit from NZ to meet Diana for the first time. It was really good. She bought lots of gifts too. :D
Diana is now starting to smile and she can also lift her head up when she lies on her front. The other day she also rolled over from her back to her front (although she was on a slightly uneven surface, so gravity may have helped). :p
Hope you're all having a good morning.
-
Mel - wishing both you and Jack lots of cuddles for today! And I hope his magic juice comes in too!
Zofia - yay on Diana being spoilt by your mum. I hope you have a better night tonight and that Diana is feeding like a trooper again! I see she already has her daddy wrapped around her finger with midnight cuddles - lol!
We should soon be inundated in here as there is lots of activity happening in the July 16-31 thread!
-
Another one with unsettled bubby last night. First time Jordan has really gotten upset. He doesn't want to be put down today either.
We had our 2 wk check yesterday and he is now 200g above his birth weight, so am happy.
Still working on his reflux, but its better than it was.
oh awake again, be back later.
-
Hi everyone!
Finally found this thread - good to see some familar people here!
Well, to give an update on Seb - we are going to the MCHN on Thursday for his weighing and measuring - he's definitely put on weight cos he's such a porker!! His jaundice has nearly all gone (his eyes are still a little bit yellow), but his bruising from the vacuum has gone and all the scabs have fallen off, so his head looks normal now!!
He's feeding every 3-4 hours, sleeping pretty well in between but sometimes has some nasty lower wind pain which unsettles him, but a soak in the bath soothes him nicely.
Hope everyone is well - looking forward to reading more about everyones special new little people!!
