Hi
Just thought I'd give the thread a starter.
Xavier Robert was born on the 3rd of August. The clever little tacker thought he would roll onto his side while still in the hosi. I think we are in for a handfull!!
-
Hi Rebecca!
Congratulations on Xavier!
Colby Jayne was also born on the 3'rd of August. We have had a few ups and downs but we finally were allowed home today!
Looking forward to getting to know all the other August mum's out there!
-
HI Sara, It looks like our little ones decided the 3rd was a good day.
I am feeling really blessed at the moment we are having a really cruisie time at the moment, compared to others.
We only had 2 days in hosi, and the little terror is already over his birth weight. Loves to eat, loves to sleep and loves to wear everyting in his wardrobe!!
-
Hi Rebecca and Sara
Well it looks like it is the 3 August thread so far!
Little Zac was born on 3 August and we made it home on 8 August.
So far his interests are eating and sleeping
My interests include getting a good nights' sleep:lol:
I look forward to enjoying the journey with you both!
Take care
Belinda.
-
Hi Belinda,
How crazy that we all had bubs on the 3rd. I have to admit, that while I will be posting in here, I will also be positing in the july thread. I've come to far to defect completley, LOL
OUr lives are sounding very similar to yours at the moment.
To both of you happy 1 week old today!! scary isn't it.
-
Hi girls,
Just poppin in quickly to say hi!
Things are going wonderfully here. Colby is breastfeeding beautifully and has slept through the night the past 2 nights. I think she may have worked out her days and nights.
I am still a little concerned about her jaundice as she is still a bit yellow. We are going to the Dr's tomorrow for her 5-10 day check-up and i will get them to check her billireuben levels. I hope that things are fine. I fret much more with her than i did with Briley.
Hopefully we should be getting some other August mums in here soon! Its terribly quiet at the moment!
Hope you and bubs are well...
Take Care
-
Oooeerrr... how exciting...
Congrats girls :D
Although I would love to be pregnant for a while longer, I would love an August Baby even more... So I hope to join you in a couple of weeks :)
Tanya

Hi Ladies,
It would be nice to have a few more in here soon.
All going well here. I wish Xavier knew what night time is. He sleeps beautifully as long as the heater is on, and well we can't do that at night. But even when it is on we have a max of about 4 hours.
I think he also needs to learn that mum is not a milkbar, and just because she's the one holding him does not mean he is actually hungry. I think he just smels the milk.
We have Mat and child health nurse coming tomorrow morning. and then seeing the doc for the first time on wednesday. We have to double check his heart is a ok, because we were discharged in less than 72 hours.
Hopefully all is well with everyone
-
Hi there !!
Well i have finally made it on here ....
Kai William was born on 6th August ! Finally 10 days overdue.
All going quite well but he is a bit unsettled at night still... feeding is going really well though and for that i a greatful as didnt have much luck with Luke.
Hope you are well
-
Hi Girls,
My little girl Ela was born on 01/08/07. Ela surely is a good little girl, she's bf, sleeping well and settles herself. I would definitely like it if she could sleep through the night too! She currently wakes 1-2 times during the night for a feed and change, which is o.k. The strange thing is that she wakes up at the same times during the night as i woke during my final weeks of pregnancy.
Sara- hope Colby's jaundice has settled down. If you can, shift her cot/bassinet closer towards the window during her day sleeps.
Rebecca - i surely agree with the milkbar thing! Ela thinks that my nipples are a dummy and keeps latched on even once shes finished sucking and falls asleep!
The joys of motherhood.
Take care all.
-
Hi jane and Sehra.
We are starting to get some more people in here. Congrats on the births of your babies.
Jane I hope Kai starts to get settled at night.
Sehra, I hope your good fortune continues with such a good baby. Xavier quite often falls asleep with is mouth wide open around my nipple.
Well today we are a little unsettled. he seems to get mucked up when we have to go out. He's fine in the car and the pram, but then when we have to stop places he gets restless, and thinks it's time to eat etc, so I offer and the effort is a little half ar$3d so he's not really hungry.
Well hopefully he still settles for night. We have been getting up about 2 times each night also.
Sarah and belinda, how are you getting by?
-
Hi ladies,
Just put Ela to sleep and thought i'd check in with you guys.
Bec - i too, hate it when routine slips and bubs gets very unsettled. We haven't taken Ela out yet (only to mums once!) but when friends come around, her routine certainly slips and it takes us awhile to get her back to sleep.
It's tradition in our culture not to take baby out for 40 days following birth, but i am definitely going shopping on the weekend and taking her with me, so i'll see if she reacts negatively to the outing.
Do any of you girls stress during bathing time? I get so tense and paranoid that i'll let Ela slip or her mouth/nose will get submerged. I love bathing her, but also hate it at the same time. They are so little.
Anyways.. take care
-
Hi,
well definetly buggered the routine last night.
he fed around 5.30 and just drifted off to sleep. at about 6ish, I put him in his cot and at 10.30 he still wasn't awake. so it had been 5 hours. So I decided to get hi up as I would have much rathered he be awake at 10.30 than 2 in the morning.
Well, Got him up, changed him, and fed him, he only stirred for about 5 mins and then back to sleep. so back to bed he went. at about 2 am he thought he would wake up, was hungry, and did not want to go back to sleep, and who can blame him, he had about 8 hours with only a 5 min interuption. tried several times and the last straw was at 4 am, when I took him to bed with us. Mainly so I could get some sleep.
Bit tired today I am.
Sehra, Our problem is that when we do go out, he likes the car and pram so much he sleeps, and then feeds later etc, etc.
Bathing time. At the moment I have made an executive decision that bathing is dad's little job. At the moment we do it together. Couple of reasons, I can't lift a baby bath full of water, and it's nice for him to have something, like a bonding thing. So I really haven't done it myself.
-
Hi girls!!
WOW! This thread is starting to get a few more mummies and bubbies now!! Good to see. Won't be long before there is a rush of some more!
Been MIA a bit in here lately. I have been so busy this week that i have'nt had time to jump on the computer. I have been in and out of town all week shopping and stuff.
Things are going pretty well with us. Briley, Colby and I are all still trying to get over our colds. Briley has been stuggling with hers on and off for about a month now. I have had mine for about 3 weeks. We just can't seem to get rid of it. And poor Colby has a snotty nose and a really bad cough which i can't do nothing about. I feel helpless. Looks as though Colby might have the same tear ducked problem as Briley too. And in the same eye coinsedently(sp??).
Colby is going well. We went for our 5-10 day check-up last monday and she had put on 200 grams. So the breast feeding must be going well. She is a wonderful content baby and she barely cries. She loves bath times and just lays there floating in the water relaxing. Bath times are'nt stressful at all here. I bath her on the kitchen sink so i just pull the plug and the water drains out of her baby bath and into the sink. They were quite a drama with Briley though as we were living in a different house then.
She is also sleeping wonderfully. The last few days she has woken up twice a night for a feed but i think this is cause she is coming into her 2 week growth spurt. Most other nights she sleeps from 9-10pm through till about 6am. A god send for me!!
I have'nt really tried putting Colby in a routine yet. I suppose morning times is the only routine we have. I bath her and then she has a feed and goes into the rocker. I am just going with the flow really. She will let me know when she is ready for routine. Briley was 3 months to the day when she let us know it was time for routine. It worked out well.
When Colby first started sleeping through i was worried that she was going up to 10 hours in between feeds. I did'nt know wether i should wake her or not. I asked the Dr at our checkup and she said "Never wake up a sleeping baby or they will get used to it and start waking up themselves!". So i just leave her now. She will wake up when she wants something.
Speaking of which, she has just woken up for a feed. Better go!
Hope you are all well.
Take Care!
-
ok, 10 hours, now i'm jealous
our best effort is 5 hours
I hope the colds go away soon
-
Bec - I count myself VERY lucky hun. I copped it with Briley though so i can totally understand where you are coming from. I hope the colds go away soon too!
-
hi,
Touching lots of wood here, but sniffles and snot seem to have reduced a little with the great weather we have had this week. It's so nice I've even got the heater off and the front door open. not even too cold for a newbie.
fingers crossed, the august thread seems to be emptying and there will be some more ladies in here soon. Might have to go see if there are many in the second august thread.
How do I find the time to get on here so often. I think I'm sacrificing housework.
-
Hi all
Just thought I would quickly drop in, I am back in the land of the living, Rob only went back to work today and I have been trying to get as much sleep under my belt as possible before then!
Zac has just woken for a feed - Will try and get back for some personals later in the day (trying to organise belly belly time in my daily routine at the earliest opportunity ;))
HAppy birthday for yesterday Rebecca
Take care everyone else.
Cheerio
Belinda..
-
Hi Girls,
Geez Sara i really am jealous of the night sleeps too. My son was a terror when he was a bubs and Ela waking twice a night is a god send for me! My son never slept through and him being 5 now still hates to sleep.
Have to go, Ela is awake..
Byes
-
Hi girls! Just thought I'd pop in now that I can be officially a member of the August babies group! Jensen Andrew was born 18/08/07 @ 0753.
For now tho, I'll just duck off to get some shut eye while he's napping, coz we don't seem to do much of it at night... I'll share more about his birth soon! Congratulations girls!
-
Congrats Rhianon and welcome Jensen. What a beautiful name. Oh and welcome to August baby buddies Rhianon.
Today, we have Ela's 2 week checkup with the MCH nurse, even though Ela is 3 weeks old. She has gotten bigger, so she has definitely put on weight. My son used to put on 600gm a week when he was a bub! We are expecting nothing less with Ela!
Will you guys be taking bubs to a paedatrician? My hospital has not told me anything about taking Ela to one, but i recall taking Devrim to a paedatrician at about 6 weeks.
Knock on wood too, i haven't had the sniffles at all this winter even though Devrim, mum and dad have been sick throughout the winter months. I'm really afraid that Ela will get sick, but so far so good. Get well soon Sara and Colby!
Take care girls..
-
HI all, nice to see some more chatter going on in here.
Thanks Belinda,
Rhiannon, congrats on the birth of Jensen. look forward to hearing more.
Sehra, we don't have to go to a paed, but we were told to have a 6 week check up with our gp. sounds like you have babies that really like their food.
Xavier seems to be going well. looks like his snotty nose is pretty much gone. this seems to have coincided with some more spring like weather, don't know if the nicer days have anything to do with it?? We have a MCHn appt tomorrow, so it will be very interesting to see how much he has grown. I did a quick measure last night after his bath and he has grown at least 4 or more cm in less than 3 weeks!!
Well at least he's growing up rather than out, and I don't have a little michellin man on my hands.
wishing everyone good sleeps
-
Hey! How is everyone? Hope you're all feeling better!
Well, Jensen is doing much better, in hospital he wasn't sleeping well, or at all really, unless he was in the bed with me. It was the only way for either of us to get any sleep. So, since he's been home he's been on a pillow between our pillows so he was close and warm. Wont sleep in his cradle. Yesterday I borrowed my sisters sleep safely thing, and, even tho there's no room in the bed much for Andrew or myself, all 3 of us slept really well! Jensen really only woke to whinge and i woke to that, no crying (unless you change his nappy) and fed for only 5 mins at a time, at seemingly hour intervals. Had a huge feed when he woke up completely this morning and has now gone back to sleep in his daddys arms.
Nothing else much, but I was really excited today as my wedding ring and engagement ring are back on! They fit again! Woo hoo!
Hope everythings good!
-
Morning girls,
Just poppin in while i have a quick sec! Briley is outside with both her g/ma's and Colby is about too wake up.
Congrats Rhianon!! Jensen is a lovely name! Looking forward to reading your birth story!
Things are going really well here. Colby still has a terrible cough and a stuffy nose though. We are going back too the Dr's tomorrow. Other than that everything else is great. The breastfeeding is still going wonderfully. She has been waking up a couple of times a night now though. I can't complain though.
As for me, well i am ok i suppose. Since the birth i have been getting really bad headaches. I am not sure wether its from the blood loss or not but i will see the Dr about it tomorrow too. I think i might also have to go and see a chiro about my back. I think it might be out or something as i am also having a lots of upper back and neck pain. Could be my posture but the pain is a really achy pain. I am also still trying to get rid of the phlem of my chest. But other than all that i am pretty good. The iron tablets seem to be working a treat. I just have to keep remembering to take them.
Not much else to report. Seems as though everyone is adjusting to motherhood very well.
Better go....Hope you are all well.
Take Care!
-
good morning,
Rhiannon, yay on some sleep. I'm sure jensen will settle down and give you some more hours once he gets settled. We found xavier doesn't sleep well if he's cold, yet at the same time the little terror doesn't like being wraped up, what to do what to do.
Sara, have you had your bp checked since coming home. Mine was high and I was told that headaches were a sign there could be something wrong. But also don't forget you have been sick, and what you said about your back could also be contributing to headaches. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Funny thing, after 3 months preggo I stopped taking any supplements even iron and folate, and now I've gone out and bought elevit, because I am so tired and run down. don't know if it's working yet, although I'm not as ravenously hungry anymore, and I found that my tummy couldn't handle the level of dairy i was eating while preggo, so now i'm getting calcium at least.
well I'm buggered, I too have a small headache, no thanks to mr, I don't want to sleep in my bed for more than 10 mins at a time after 2 weeks and 5 days of being reasonably well behaved. Oh well.
My little man is a piggy, just had mch visit. he has grown 3 cm and gained 700gm since birth.
catch you all later
-
Hi girls!! Hows everythimg?
Sara - i know what you mean about a backache, I have one constantly, in my upper back on the right hand side and in my lower back. I thought it might have been from changing Jensen on the bed (his change table was in his room - we've moved it into ours now), but it's not. Oh well.
Jensens sleeping habits are sporadic, so I can be so exhausted one day, then really good another. Hopefully, it continues like last night - he woke only twice, with long sleeps in between.
I can't believe he's a week old! Sometimes I look at him and am amazed he's actually mine!
I don't post on here as much as I'd like, coz I'm liking to sleep atm!
-
Hi girls... :)
We belong in here somewhere ;) Our nameless beauty is now almost a week old!! She is doing really well. She has a bit of jaundice, so I have her in her rocker in the window.
I had the midwife visit yesterday and her jaundice is under the level of any concern...
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all :)
Tanya

Finally!!!
I'm so excited to get to post here.
On August 20, our second daughter decided to make an appearance at 6:03pm. We named her Bailey Kathleen Lily.
I will post a birth story a bit later. While both kids are asleep, I want to get a vacuum run over the carpet.
Just thought that I'd pop in and say Hi!!!!
Be back later.
-
Oh Gosh! Welcome Kirst and Bailey!!Welcome to Tanya and your lil bundle!
-
Hi girls!
Kirst - Congratulations on the birth of Bailey hun!! 2 little princesses for us both now!! Looking forward to reading your birth story!!
Tanya - Congrats to you too mate. Waiting anxiously to hear the name of your little princess!
Scone - You might have to get your back checked out at the chiro too. I am going to ask my Dr about it tomorrow before i head of to the chrio though.
Bec - Nope have'nt had my BP checked. Another thing i will get the Dr to check tomorrow. I am off to the Dr for the headaches so she might just check my BP anyways. Great to hear your little mans is growing nicely. Colby will be getting checked over tomorrow.
Well i can't believe that my newborn is already nearly 1 month old. Time is just going to bloody quick. As scary as it is to say....i am really mourning my pregnancy and my belly. Even after all the dramas i went through during the pregnancy itself. I see all these pregnant women and feel sad wishing i was still there. Ofcourse i am loving having my beautiful little girl here with me but you just miss the journey of it all i suppose. Is anyone else experiencing these feelings???
Colby's cough is finally starting to go away. She is still coughing here and there but nothing compared to what she was. The breastfeeding is still going so well. As are night times. She wakes up twice a night now. At 12.30am and 5.30am. So i manage to get 5 hour blocks of sleep. I have also found she sleeps for much longer on her tummy. I know...your not meant to sleep them in any other position execpt on their back. But she is fine. I make sure everything around her is flat as a tack and not near her face.
She smiled at me for the first time yesterday and has started to "coo". She is also really trying to focus on things now and has been going really crossed eyed heaps. I have to laugh. She also has the strongest neck. She can lift her head right up of my chest and look around. She is a real sticky beak!
Don't think there is much else to tell at the moment. I don't think it will be long before we have some more new mummies and bubbies in here. Looking forward to it.
Hope you are all well....
-
hello ladies.....arianna was born on 12/8 and although she was going great in her first week - wakes up every 4 hours for a feed then sleeps most of the time, sometimes up to 6 hours. i cant say the same for now! her 'routine' seems out of whack now...she bfs well enough [when latched on nicely] but no more 4 hours....sometimes it's 2, sometimes its 3. and i'm finding it hard to get her to sleep in the evenings especially if she feeds abt 6 or 7pm. she just cannot settle herself n somehow, even we arent much help. sometimes, we let her wear herself out which is heart breaking. :( but today, things seem good. *fingers crossed*
-
Hi Girls and a warm welcome to all the newies!
Haven't been in lately because i have no time! I was so bored before Ela arrived and now i have no time to be bored!
Sara- re: the headaches. I have a constant dull headache too but i have put it down to the broken sleep that i get will ask the dr when i see him in 2 weeks time. Are you drinking enough fluid? Dehydration can lead to headaches too. We are now producing milk, so the water may go towards the milk and maybe our body is left dehydrated??? I tend to drink 2-3 litres a day, so i'm definitely not dehydrated, i blame lack of proper sleep!
I too, miss being pregnant. I miss my belly and not being able to rub it when bub moved. I miss the kicks and the hiccups. Maybe, we'll all have another soon? I must admit though, i am enjoying Ela a lot more than i did Devrim (as a bub). i look at her when she is asleep and cry, thinking how beautiful she is.
Mistyeiz - May be try getting Arianna into a routine? We have gotten Ela into a routine. She wakes at about 7pm for her feed, feed her one side, i then bath her and feed her on the other side and she sleeps at about 9.30-10pm, wakes at 2am for a feed and change, sleeps at about 3am and wakes at 6am again which i am really happy about. Or maybe try a dummy? I know its hard when bubs doesn't settle and your helpless about it. Good luck hon.
At the MCH appt on Thursday, she had grown 2.5cm and put on 560gm in 2 weeks.
Just a question - do you find that your bubs have done poos at every nappy change? Ela did, then she didn't do poos for 1.5days and she just did a lot last night? I am so used to finding poo at every nappy change that her not doing poos for 1.5 days got me a little concerned.
-
Hello all!
Sara - I know what you mean about your baby belly! I miss mine too. I used to walk around rubbing this huge bump, and holding my hand over it - waiting for kicks or hiccups... and now theres nothing there
'cept a mummy tummy! Not in a hurry to do it all again, but maybe. Thats great that Colby's getting better! And Jensen does the same thing, sleeping for big blocks through the night - I can't thank him enough!
Misty - Welcome to you and Arianna!
Sehra - I have the headaches too! I've been so long without them, I wasn't expecting them to come back so quickly! I suffered heaps before we fell pregnant with migranes, I'm hoping they don't make an appearance any time soon. Re: poos. I noticed that Jensen pood almost every nappy change, then nothing for a couple of changes, maybe a slight streak, but heaps of wee. I worried that I wasn't feeding him well enough, but he's definately back to normal now, filling them at every chance!
I don't know if this is just me or not, but I feed Jensen on one breast to try and empty it, coz its so full it hurts and feels like its going to pop. Then the other side when he feeds next. but by that time, the first is so full again. Is he not getting enough milk or does my milk just fill back up with vengance? It's painful and awkward to walk round with these huge breasts that leak heaps!
-
HI all,
for those who don't know me, I was a july belly buddie, and Xavier decided August was a better month.
Welcome to all the new mummies!!
Sara, I too miss my baby belly. I really enjoyed being pregnant and wish I had that feeling back again. When my hubby (Nathan) used to rub my belly in the first week, it made me cry. I've gotten past that now, but I can't wait to be pregnant again. Unfortunately we have lots of other things to look after before I can be again.
Rhiannon, don't stress too much about your milk supply, your only in the first few weeks. Mine has gradually been getting more bearable. Don't forget your body is still trying to work out how much milk it needs to feed your bubs and is in over production at the moment. As long is there is plenty of wet and pooey nappies, and your bubs is content, no stress.
Mistyeiz, Babies do go through growth spurts and have a tendency to cluster feed. I was also told that afternoons and early evenings are a prime time for that sort of behavior because there sometimes isn't enough fat in your milk for bubs. I've been told that for the first 6 weeks that feeding on demand is perfectly fine, because it helps both of you iykwim.
Well for us we are now over 3 weeks old, and growing like a mushroom. already grown 3 cm and over the 4kg mark. we have good days and bad days, and mum gets frustrated nights. We are getting better at settling to go to sleep, I just had to bite the bullet and start letting him sook a little.
Well wishing everyone good sleeps.
-
Morning girls,
Well i am glad to see that i am not the only one mourning my pregnancy! The only difference is i wont be going back for quite a while now. I am very tempted don't worry about that but i think raising 2 under 2 is enough work for me at the moment. I am getting a mirena inserted so that if i do get tempted i can't just go ahead and do it!!! I am not sure exactly how long i am going to wait yet...maybe till Briley starts school i think. It makes me very sad to think i will be waiting that long but at the rate time goes now it will cruise along i am sure.
Bec - Yes i can't believe its been 3 weeks plus already. You sound like your finally working out the tricks of the trade. Sometimes you do just have to let them cry for a little while. I have had to do that several times already. You can only be in one place at one time. Even as women we are still human!
Rhiannon - Like Bec said, don't stress to much about your milk supply. Have you tried expressing some before feeds. Try sitting down with a towel before you feed Jensen and let the milk run out or hand express it out onto the towel. Or even use a breast pump and freeze the milk for occasions where you need to be away from him.
Its still early days and your body is still trying to work out how much milk it needs to put out for bubs. With Briley i made heaps of milk and when i would feed her i would have milk going everywhere cause i had so much. But now, with Colby, i don't have any over production. I only produce enough for her to have. Sometimes if she sleeps longer i get a back-up.
It will all sort itself out soon mate. Don't stress!
Sehra - I am too savouring the newborn stage with Colby. When the baby is your first you are in such a hurry to have them do things. You don't realise that your missing out on the newborn time. Ofcourse now that i am enjoying the newborn time, time is going really quick.
I am trying to drink heaps of water. Same thing happened with Briley too. I was soooo thirsty while i was pregnant but as soon as i had bubs i don't feel thirsty anymore. I find that i do drink most of my water in the late afternoon through till the next morning. I am trying to force myself to drink more during the day though.
RE: The poos - I have noticed a change in Colby's bowel movements. For a few days there she was going without doing them one day and the next day she would do a massive one which would go everywhere. She went on like this for about 5 days. I did'nt really worry about it too much as she was'nt showing any signs of being in pain or being uncomfortable. So long as she still had wet nappies i was'nt worried. If you are worried speak to you CHN. She will be able to tell you what is normal and whats not.
Misty - Welcome honey and congrats on Arianna. A lovely choice of name.
Sounds like you might be going through a growth spurt. Babies have growth spurts at 2 and 4 weeks. Arianna might be going through her 2 week growth spurt. They tend to feed more regularly at these times. Colby went through hers last week. When we first came home she was sleeping up to 10 hours but as soon as we hit the 2 week mark that went out the door. She was waking up 3-4 times a night for a feed. And was feeding pretty much constantly during the day.
Did you get a postnatal information booklet from your hospital when you left??? My hospital only just brought this one out so i was lucky too get it. It the booklet their is a section on growth spurts. This is what it says:
Growth Spurts
Your baby will have many growth spurts. Usually babies have small growth spurts at 2 and 4 weeks of age, then a big growth spurt between 6-8 weeks. Growth spurts can be challenging particularly if your baby is breastfed, as your baby will need to demand more so that you supply more and they can grow more. Often there is a small delay in each step. Some babies start their growth period from 4 weeks others start from around 6 weeks.
During the big growth spurt at 6-8 weeks of age, many parents feed that they are doing something wrong. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!! This period is an important time for development; usually the baby is just starting to communication with you in new ways such as smiling. Don't worry, your doing well so remain calm and please feel free to contact your child health nurse for help and reassurance.
Remember you are doing a great job. It takes time to adjust to the changes.
Keep this is mind everyone! I found this to be very helpful.
Well i better go. I've been lucky to able to type a post this long!!! Colby is waiting for a bath and Briley is having her's and is off to bed.
Oh and thing are all good here. Colby's cough is getting better. We are off to the Dr's again today to be checked over. Had a good sleep lastnight too.
Hope you are all well...

sara - thanks for the encouragement!! that really helped a lot. :) i hope colby's getting better by the day. :)
becca - thanks for that too. i was just confused trying to figure out if i should feed on demand or just wake her up every 4 hours, IF she meet that coz then that would set a routine. but looks like it aint happening for us just yet! lol :P
rhianon - well, funnily, i think its the same for me. i remember how my right boob was SOOOOO full, i could hardly lift my arm up! it was that painful so DH went n got a pump n what life saver. i was expressing n giving ari that. n NOW, my left is fuller than the right but the thing is the MORE u express of feed on one side, the more the supply for that boob comes in. so i'm kind of stuck with that. since its not too bad at the mo, i cant really complain. :)
sehra - we tried to get ari into a routine but didnt quite work although i THOUGHT it had! lol DH isnt too happy abt using the dummy so we're trying to avoid that at all cost.
has any one been using the 5-min settling technique? it's when u put bub to bed to settle themselves n if they cry, u let them be for 5mins before going in to check up on them. i normally pick her up after all that screaming....pitiful really but it suppose to help them settle themselves for the future.

Hi all, re. poos. It is not unusual for babies to not poo for about a week. If they go over a that and you're conerned, consult a health care professional. I found this out with DD1. SO I'm not too worried about it now.
As for growth spurts - they feed ALL THE TIME when they have a spurt. Another thing that I found with DD1. You get used to it, and can relly judge how they are growing by their feeds.
Sounds like everyone's bubs are going according to plan - yay!!!
As for the baby belly............I am definitely NOT mourning mine. I'm DONE! The shop is shut. I did love feeling my bub move inside me, but I adore looking at my girls much more. Seeing them interact with each other and their environment is just a priceless blessing.

good afternoon.
Glad to hear everyone is progressing so well.
Mistyeiz, I'm not really waiting 5 mins while he cry's but I do listen to the type of cry and judge if I think he is just grizzling tired cry or if it's a real I need something cry, or I'm in pain.
today i'm trying out the radio to see if a little background noise helps.
sometimes he will be ok, and must startle himself awake, then just needs a 30 sec cuddle and back to sleep he goes. (I don't wrap him during the day 'cause he hates it and fights me).
Sara it really is weird that we are at 3 weeks already.
I am really trying to enjoy this newborn phase but it's really hard the first time around. It's not that I'm longing for all the stuff to happen, it's that I need some structure 'cause I'm a control freak and I know this will come with time.
In saying that this would have to be the only piece of advice (given to Nathan by a work colleague) that is great for first timers.
You have only been a parent as long as they have been a baby.
so for us we are all novices, although it feels like longer than 3 weeks. I'm slowly forgetting what it was like before.

Kirst - Do you mean your not going back for anymore babies at all?? Not even a boy?!?!?!?
Misty - No worries mate - anytime!
