Glad the move went well Shortcake. We have less than two weeks - bet this TWW will go much quicker than the other kind!!!

It's our small boy's 2nd birthday today. Bit of a family party yesterday...but he's sick again so that meant he didn't have as good a time as he might have.

I truly wish you will soon all know the joy of your own child's party. :crossfingers: Whilst I'm not a praying kind of person, I'm trying very hard to 'put it out to the universe' that we all soon have BFPs and brand new small people.

Jen ~ this might be the wrong context, but going back a couple of months (and before I think...) there was a list of things you would do to demonstrate an 'addiction' to BB. At our small boy's party yesterday it both struck me how lucky I am and how I am starting to relax more and more about 'needing' a baby. That's the huge impact BB is having for me!

Yesterday thinking of you all here online I had cause to pause and be thankful for what DH and I have. I hope this ramble makes some kind of sense...apologies if it doesn't!

Hey ladies I am new to this thread as I am going to begin charting my cycles (never done this before) in the hopes to TTC in the next few months. I had an ectopic in February and am just giving myself the time recommended after receiving methotrexate. So I hope this is an appropriate place for me as mentally I am gearing up to TTC conceive again. I hope all of you have a very good month full of lots of BFP!!!!

Ladies I just need to remind you all - please don't make posts for the sake of posting in a new thread. AFM - just a quick question, is it better to have lots bd'ing during 'o' time or once a day or every two days. Im confussed as to which is best!

and thank you Sally... we may have to give it a break this month with the testing we are going to get done.. but maybe not. guess I will have to wait and see what the specialist says. They are sending out an information pack and i have to call when i receive it for further info. I have only recently been told that if you bd every 2nd day you will have a better quality of sperm, but the quantity will be less. so you will have less of them with each ejaculation but the mobility of them will be greater. So I guess that is a good way to do it. best of luck.

Meh - happy birthday to your little man. I understand what it is you are trying to say. I too am greatful for my 9yo son.

Im a bit disappointed to read above that tickers from our pregnant friends have to be disabled to post in this thread. I don't know about anyone else but it gives me a little bit of hope to see them ticking along at the bottom of some of the posts. I guess I will have to lurk in the pregnancy after m/c section to find that little bit of hope ;)

You may find it encouraging Boble and that is a good thing - and something I can understand. Conversly many others that have just had a loss find it very very confronting. As this is a Miscarriage and Loss section of this forum our aim is to be as sensitive to grieving parents as possible. While you may be unaffected - I can speak from personal experience how confronting it is to have a ticker flashing at you at around the amount of weeks your baby "should" be at.

My in box is constantly full of complaints about this - a rule we have always had that has been let to slide a bit lately.

We need to be as sensitive as possible to the most members we can. If this alleviates some peoples pain then I think that is a good thing.

If anyone has an issue with it - please take it off the forums and contact me by PM.

Bugger! I was all nervous I wouldnt know when I o'd so we covered all bases since mid last week daily.., Hope it helped and didnt hinder!

Sally-I was told from my DR that its best to DTD every day or every other day depending on your DH sperm count. We were told we could do it several times a day and it would be fine for us. HTH.

DH and I decided last night that we are going to try this month on our own yet and if nothing happens talk to the DR about trying clomid. Does anyone know what the success rate is for clomid? And if it does sometimes make it harder to conceive?

If there are issues with sperm function or supply, tho, then I understand the need to have a day or two in-between for those little :sperm: to restock!

Sally I think many dr's recommend bd'ing every 2nd day but as Shortcake and Jen said everyday is fine if dh's swimmers don't have a supply problem. The cycle we got pg we had a bd'ing marathon! But we did have a day break (which happened to be the day before the +OPK) This cycle we are going to bd the day we get the +OPK and the day after (which seem to be the W & EW CM days) and try to leave a couple of days break before then. I am excited for you honey I hope you get your BFP. Whilst the tww can drive you insane it is still so exciting... Like waiting for the best present in the world! :2ww:

I'm just wondering if our pg friends are easily able to disable their tickers (in their signature or something)??? It would be horrible if we never hear from them again... They have laughed with me and cried with me, they have sympathised with me and more importantly shown me that my feelings are normal and natural. Yes, it is normal that you feel jealous about other being people becoming pregnant. although it's not a normal jealous feeling, it's more wishing that you were pregnant too. I hope and :pray: that your time in this thread is short and that you are able to move over to the PAML (pregnancy after miscarriage and loss) thread shortly.

Shortcake - Sorry that RB has shown up at your place too. As I said to Jen - miracles can and do happen. Hold on to that thought. I was only told at the beginning of this month that I wouldn't fall pg without IVF. Little did I know at the time I already was.

Sally - We bd every second day this month, and on my chart (which doesn't show up here) it shows bd about 2 days before O and the day after O, so not sure which one of them worked. I also get really bad O pains so know when I'm about to O. (hope that helps)

Anyway, running out of time awfully fast, starting work in half an hour and so much still to do. I'll try to pop in and keep an eye on this thread.

Shortcake - I used clomid and would totally recommend it, but if you know you are ovulating every month and quite regulary then I don't think it would make much difference as its not the clomid that makes you pregnant, it just makes you ovulate (well that's what it is supposed to do anyway). Not sure of success rates but worked for me first time! It is normally the first line in fertility treatment before more invasive, expensive procedures. Talk to your Doc and they may have some more answers for you. Big hugs, I know the waiting is terrible!

Cherished - It is easy to disable the signature so don't worry Ill still hang around to encourage you all! I would have disabled it sooner had I known people were getting upset but I can totally understand how other people feel about it. For me, it gave me hope but I know for others it is upsetting. AFM - Ob did a scan last night and said he cann't see ANY fluid on the baby's neck! Yay, so happy at the moment, this little girly is such a fighter, still have to have more tests and scans but its looking a lot more positive - In fact fantastic!

Well my few days of happiness and joy have crashed around me and I got back a BFN this morning still only 10dpo. I used a pregnosis clear test and I read on the weekend ( in the instructions) that the test could give false positives from clomid and I rang the company yesterday ( they were very very helpful suprisingly!and they said if I am on clomid the best chance of finding out if I am UTD is either AF late and then POAS and take that result as real or a blood test.
Rang FS and he said i just have to hang in their till af DUE THEN WE DO THE BLOOD TEST. hE DOESN'T LIKE TESTIING BEFORE af AS SOMETIMES THINGS DON'T (sorry it is in Upercase I have to go to work and can't retype it not yelling promise ;) ) go well with the cells and the baby dosen't form and you still get a AF on the day due or one or two days later... - apparently very common.... So no BT and have to wait but to be honest apart from a minor amount of cramping ( ovary area cramping so a little worried ) and me turning into Mrs Mega Biarch !! (not normal for me...I have no other signs so I think the clomid, may have made me O but it has also give me a false result.:(
So sorry i don't have some happy news for everyone.... I sit here and wait ........Next test Sunday ( sorry Jen but then that would take me past when AF is due and I can have a more reliable answer, I am also too scraed to put my positive on the test in case it jinxs me )... Em

Mrzbaby :hug: So sorry! I had no idea you could get a false positive (regardless of taking any meds)... I think it's great that you know now and you can try to relax more over the ttw untill either you do or don't get af 'then' get excited iykwim. It's also great info for anyone else on clomid to not test early (even though that is nearly impossible when ttc!) Personally I like to wait untill at least af is due anyway. Well my fingers are still crossed for you honey :crossfingers:

First and foremost I must say that I quite miss seeing all the tickers. For me that was hope! It was wonderful seeing ladies like me had gotten through it and are now pregnant or have a little one. Please ladies do not apologize like Jen said you have done nothing wrong.

mrzbaby- I'm so sorry for the bad news. But at least you know now and its too early to know but I'm praying you get your BFP this month.

Well I am new here to this thread and I lurked for a while and found the good news tickers were an inspiration. I guess after a loss I feel that once I am TTC I am looking for hope. I hope I haven't done the wrong thing by expressing my opinion. I can see how some people might be affected by other peoples good news but whether on here or in everyday life the reality for me is I am always going to be having to face others pregnancy announcements and I will feel ispired by all that have experienced loss and then success.
Speaking of success stories anyone know of some successes after an ectopic with or wothout losing a tube? I need some inspiration!

There have been very very few times on Belly Belly that I have felt such a feeling of disgrace as I have in the past 12 hours.

My inbox was full to over flowing with thanks from members with regard to the tickers. It was full of thanks for taking steps to enforce this long standing position on turning off tickers in the M & L forums & in the LTTC forums.

There was complaint from only 1 member in a PM and one Member in the other forums.

I find it appalling that such a simple request is treated with such annoyance and lack of kindness and understanding by some of the posters in this forum. You are all afforded the respect that is given to all women who have suffered loss - you all ask for understanding, you all ask for your babies to be remembered. You have a beautiful forum for this to happen along with support, love and friendship.

You are kindly asked to turn off pregnancy tickers as MANY (yes I am talking loudly) women are finding it very uncomfortable when they have suffered a loss.

Instead of walking for a few minutes in their shoes you complain in this thread and one member in PM's to me. I find this disgraceful that you cannot think outside your own circle.

If you don't feel comfortable with this - then you will need to get over it or move on. Because our role is to ensure safety and kindness to the majority - not to pander to those who don't feel it's comfy any more because they cannot show a pregnancy ticker.

Not everyone feels like you (the minority who are complaining) do. Many women find it reignites their sadness. You can look at pregnancy tickers until the cows come home in other forums on this site to give you encouragement. But in here it's not okay as it causes some women pain.

As for taking offence at not posting with nothing more than emoticons - that is the way it is also. Our job is long and time consuming. We get little kudos and have the very difficult job of enforcing the guidelines - most members don't have an issue with toeing the line - just as we do in all other areas of our life. All communities have morays and rules. As a member of this forum you are obliged to follow the rules.

Again I have never felt such disgrace at people being unable to feel anothers pain - mostly because losing babies usually teaches compassion and grace. I hope that you can move along, accept this is the way it is and continue to support one another.

Any more comments in this thread complaining about this will be removed and infracted.

Shortcake - Stupid RB!! I'm sorry this wasn't your month. And I just wanted to post to you about Clomid - I have done quite a few cycles of Clomid and personally if you are ovulating on your own with good hormone levels I would not take it. It doesn't always come without side effects, for me it was terrible depression, and also it actually does make you slightly less fertile. It thickens CM making it more difficult for sperm to penetrate and also can adversely affect your lining - I had lining checked when on it and it was heaps thinner than when I was on FSH injections for my IVF cycle. I also got a largish cyst on one ovary whilst taking it. Don't get me wrong, it can be a great drug for some people especially if you are not ovulating, but based on my experiences I would not take it without a pretty good reason. Just wanted to give you a perspective from someone who had a series of disasters with it - it is great when it works, but unfortunately it doesn't work for everyone. HTH!

I also just wanted to say that I also hope I haven't hurt anyone by displaying my ticker :( My journey has been such a big part of me over the last 2 years and has forever changed me - I hate to think that I have made anyone's pain any worse. I know that there are those of you in here who are more than happy to see it, but I can also see that it is for the best not to put them in.

I also just want to reiterate what Flowerchild has just said. It is not a huge ask to turn your tickers off in this area and quite frankly the arrogance and disrespect is astounding.

Apparently, Flowerchild's post has been utilised to attack her, when in effect she is speaking as a representative of many of the members who use this thread, and this forum. That is something we do not tolerate here on BB, that members feel it's okay to attack a moderator for doing her job in protecting the members of this forum.

As individual members, you are not privy to complaints, PMs or discussions that we, as moderators, receive on a regular basis. You are not the person who has to appease a woman with a recent loss who finds pregnancy tickers confronting and painful. You obviously do not have to deal with this pain and therefore you will not have an idea of where Flowerchild is coming from.

This forum is 90% about pregnancy and babies, and there is 90% of the forum for you to view pg tickers. That there are members who find it difficult to see such a ticker in a M/C forum is understandable.

That there are people arguing with the rule to turn pg tickers off in this forum makes me wonder if in fact you understand that being supportive ALSO means not doing something that is likely to hurt someone and cause them pain. Or is support only offered on YOUR terms? Does the fact that there are those who are hurt by it mean nothing to you?

I welcome you to PM me to discuss this further if you have any further input on this topic. We have had this rule in the LTTTC forums for many years without issue, and if I need to explain it again in plainer terms to you as to why we have the rule here now, I'm more than happy to do it in private. ANY further public discussion on this topic will be removed and the poster infracted without further notice for debating a moderator decision.

I know that when im having a bad day and see someones ticker it sends me into a depressed state that's hard to get out of. I dont think it is too much to ask that those that are having successful pregnancies not to display their pg tickers in a forum where women are grieving.

Other than that, hello to everyone and all the newbies in here! I have been lurking. We are still having dramas with our real estate re closing the sale of our apartment and the stress is causing me headaches..literal headaches. Instead of closing today we're closing in another month.. basically the tenant went and signed another lease after being told not to and after she was made aware that we were selling the place so the buyers therefore couldnt have it vacant posession...We didnt think anything of the lease when we got it in the mail because that was when we lost our baby. *sigh* I hate real estate..:wall:

I am due to get my blood taken to test my progestorone and do full blood work to rule anything out so that's pretty cool. I have started ther POAS with OPK now because I ovulated early last month & dont want to miss it! I think I am meant to have the progestorone tested at 7dpo is that right? I thought it should be earlier, can someone please help me on that one?

Coco the progesterone test is sometimes called the day 21 test... This is because it should be done for the most acccurate result at 7 dpo. So about 8 days after you get your first positive opk.

Thankyou for the masses of positive feedback and understanding I have received. As Sushee pointed out - my job is to enforce the guidelines of the forum. I think it is also important to remember that this forum is visited by folk that don't post - women and some men who want to glean support from others in a similar position. So just because a very few of you think it's not upsetting a large number do. We have privvy to that information. Our aim is to be a place of support and understanding - where the majority are comfortable.

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed here and in RL. I'm just trying to breathe and not drop too many balls at once. :redface: DH and I did a relay today - I worked this morning and now he's working this afternoon. Thanks so much for our DS's birthday wishes. Fingers crossed he'll get better soon and life can return a little to normal.

It's so funny?! This month I'm pretty sure we aren't pregnant but I'm still checking for every little symptom. Interestingly....there are hardly any symptoms!! I'm a bit confused. :o I was starting to think (completely without medical back up, just me trying to make sense of things...) that I must have stacks/enough progesterone because of the strength of my PMS symptoms in the last two cycles. I'm just about ready to stop looking for anything, because I'm just getting confused.

Someone here (and I'm sorry, I can't remember who...) used to talk about a 'zen' approach to things. Well here goes nothing! ;)

I posted this over on another thread (I am not sure where actually as I am new to this site).

Anyway ....

4 days ago I had a m/c. We had been TTC for a while, and were so excited when we got the BFP. *sigh*

We were really struggling with TTC, so I had got the OPK sticks. I got the sticks because I didn't feel confident with temping, given that I work shift work, and would not be able to temp at the same time each day.

But I am anxious for us to TTC as soon as possible, and the DR has advised it will be OK as long as I have at least one normal cycle.
I am considering a fertility monitor, as I can't sit back and wait another year to TTC (I am now 37 and have 2 angel babies and no living children).

Does anyone have any experience with fertility monitors, and can recommend a good one (and where to get it from)?

Or even any advice really would be appreciated.

Firstly, hugs and prays for your little angel and a huge hug for you :hug:

I m not a spring chicken myself :doh: so I understand your concern with that clock that seems to tick louder and louder as each month goes on.

My first question would be, have you been to a fertility expert to get any tests done. There are so many 'little' things that can be changed that will help enormously. As an example I had no idea I had endo..... there was so much there it was putting pressure on my ovaries (turned out that wasnt the issue....... we had sinkers instead of swimmers) BUT if that had been the issue then a 'simple' op would have fixed it.

Second,I understand about the temping.... I NEVER get up the same time every day. I found that when I was temping I slept terriably because I was tossing and turning all night looking at the time so that I didnt miss my temp time. I also used OPKS.

I would say that the best option is to get to know the signs of your body..... get to know your cycle and keep a close track on it. There are cycle tickers that you can use as well. Get to know your CM (cervical mucas) it will tell you sooooo much. Look for the 'eggwhite' approx day 10 of your cycle..... with all else aside.... the 'eggwhite' is your GO FOR IT sign. :bd: and then toward the end of the cycle the 'eggwhite' is Ohhh oooooo AF is around the corner.

As for how long to wait...... most specialists will say let your body get back into cycle and then wait one full cycle.... so wait until your body gets back to normal and THEN wait one cycle...... so approx 2 months.

I have never used a fertility monitor so I can not help you there.
