Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage/Loss April/May 2009

Well I am going to go out on a limb here with a question...in an attempt to change the direction of this thread away from the last few days.......

It relates to your question Coco about who is ovulating at the moment.

Now my question is......... Is it just me... or do some of you have issues with your DH/DF/DP when your Ovulating.

What I mean by that is that I keep close tabs on my cycle as we all do..... and as soon as it comes to the high fertility time and ovulation..... it seems that my DH just ... ummm well he just.... does things that well... puts me out of the BD mood. I mean I get the sign yesterday that Ovulation would be today/tomorrow....... and within a couple of hours... grrrrrrrrrr so instead of :bd: its :wall:

So... yes Coco I am ovulating but at this rate I wont be in the :2ww:.............:doh:

So i want to hear from everyone..... Let me know if its just me..... or whether its quite normal..... its certainly not my DH with performance issues cause he doenst have a clue when it is..... Its alright... if it is me..... I can cope... really :crying:


Now if thats not enough of a question to change the direction and leave the past in the past...... ... well damn...... LOL

lol Angels.. yep, sound like your DH and mine are cut from the same cloth.. i've often thought maybe my emotions are heightened at that time.. am I just a little more on edge or something??.. but he seems to rub me up the wrong way - which makes me NOT want to rub him up the right way ;) :lol: There has been a number of times I have said to him, now im angry and don't even want to bd - but I have to because its O time... so lets go.... hmmm, not very romantic :redface:

Angels ~ I can relate in a similar way....each cycle we have been TTC since our m/c something has gone wrong! :rolleyes: This last one DH had a stressful few days with his mum and work (plus banks and settlement on our new house, and DS being sick....)so we missed bd'ing close enough to O. It's not that he's against getting the timing right (or feeling used - he always asks when O is due, even when we agree not to talk about it!!?) but at the moment there are so many other things going on that there seem to be 'interruptions' that can't be forseen...The only thing that can reasonably be predicted is that something will happen!!! But in my new (attempted) 'zen' space I'm trying to let some of it go....:redface:

Angels i sort of know what you mean when my DH and i were trying for our daughter i was always fertile on the days we worked and as DH works 12 hr shifts and would get home at 6am and i would have to get up at 7am DH would have to come home and wake me up to BD which is'nt easy to do on cue and we usually would end up in tears laughing as poor DH would try to rise to the occasion with me telling him to hurry up as i had to get ready for work and i always seemed to be fertile on the days we worked but we made up for it on our days off we would relax and enjoy it in the end it worked along with the elevit,vitex,robitussin,maybe baby thermomitor and BBT chart and now we have to do it all again:help:

Sally yes the 21 day test is a blood test. To be accurate it needs to be done 7 days post ovulation.

Meh: I am gluten intolerant so your cake would be welcome in my house! I love gluten free orange cake - it's a favourite with my kids- I usually make muffins out of the recipe - very yummy and it freezes well... ;)

Shortcake - that does sound like very heavy bleeding - you do need to access some medical care at least for an asessment. I know for me - I have lost 6 babies and had 4 D & C's all up - I did bleed quite significantly a few periods down the track. I remember it being very draining. Take some good quality ORGANIC iron supplements - these will give less of a tendency to making you constipated. Always take iron with vitamin c - a glass of orange juice is okay or a Vit C supplement... I hope you are okay... :hug:

It is important to move on ladies - it was terribly upsetting for me also to have such a response to enforcing BB guidelines. It makes the site run so much more lovingly and supportively when people just accept that there are rules that help the majority and we are in a position of knowing the whole story not just a little window... Ever heard the story that Edward DeBono tells (he is the famous lateral thinker). Another BB member tells it much better than I but I will attempt... :redface: A man looks through a key hole and through it he sees a crowd running and screaming - soon after he sees a man chasing them with a knife. He says "OMG that man is trying to kill those people"... So he opens the door and makes chase. He comes accross the crowd at the bottom of a tree with the man with the knife trying to cut free a boy who was stuck...
Through his keyhole he saw a nasty horrible event unfolding - he judged harshly that dreadful knife wielding man... But alas the man was the boys saviour...
Do you get the analogy??? When you only know a piece of the story you can make speedy, unkind and unfair judgements.
There has to be a certain amount of trust afforded to those in a position of "caretkaer" it has to be trusted that unless time and experience tells you otherwise that person is doing the best for the majority. A bit like when we parent our kids. Being a moderator means we make decisions so that our site runs the most effectively - we protect those that need protecting and we speak out when it needs to happen too. We dont do it for the sake of it - we do it for the greater good. So let's now put this to bed and move on with the important job of loving and supporting each other... :hug:

Cherished - Its supposed to be more consistent and mine in general are to high. I kinda of didnt get it, anyway I was do it internally, TMI - BUT maybe inserted further then other days...

sally - As long as you have EWCM you should consider yourself fertile. OPKs are positive 24-36 hours before ovulation. Since you had a positive OPK yesterday and a negative today, today could be O day. Goodluck. I hope you catch that egg this month :bluedust: :goodluck:

Mrzbaby - Im praying that you get your BFP and no AF to you!! Im in the same boat am at 11dpo and I tested at 8dpo and BFN my DH wants me to test tommorrow but I have all the symptoms of AF coming, i also had the small twinges in my ovaries and tonight I have a bit of lower back pain and feel a headache coming on argh!! I've also been so stressed out at work and just a biatch all week poor DH copped it all and my work mates! I've been told that if you don't expect anything then you'll be pleasntly suprised! so lets try and take a step back and just go with the flow (no AF flow hopefully).

Its still hot up here in FNQ except the nights are beautifully cool now thats its great to be outside and much easier to sleep. So am off to bed now but just wanted to check in on everyone and boy a lot has gone on but glad to see all is back to normal.

Mannie, I hear you on the waiting waiting waiting... can't handle it much myself.

Anyone out there know how long it typically takes before cycle comes good after mc? Last time I was on the pill so things didn't happen normal as it was all unexpected... this time, well, it's been 2 1/2 weeks and I can't handle not knowing what my cycle is doing.

smallfryplus...... It all varies.... which I know.. is not what you want to hear...... I could tell a fib but that wouldnt help you. I think from memory mine took about 6 weeks before the bleeding stopped and then I had a normal period...... and I say from memory because at that stage everything was clouded in fog and nothing was really clear except the agony of it all...... I wish I could give you a clearer answer but unfortunately I cant. I ve been told its different time frames as well depending on if it was a natural MC or a D&C..... mine was a natural MC. I hope you are doing better than I was and I m glad you have found everyone here.:hug:

Hello lovely ladies. Just a quick update from me. I ended up at the ER last night. They still aren't sure what is going on or what went wrong. The bleeding has now slowed. I think I was poked and prodded enough last night though. They had me on an IV and said that I had lost an excessive amount of blood. Send me home with the instructions to rest and drink lots of fluids and it the bleeding continues at that much or more then to come back in. So I'm just here resting in bed.

Goodness..... everyone seems to be posting just after I ve finished a post... feels like I m on a posting merry go round......LOL

Anyway... Shortcake..... I m so glad you were in ER... well not glad you were in ER but you know what I mean... lets just say it didnt look good and I m glad you got it looked into. Enjoy your bed rest :goodidea:

Angels - Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes I wonder if I did mc this time, I was only 5 weeks but had two positive tests (couldn't believe the first!) but only bled for 4 days... (4 VERY painful days mind you) perhaps it's just that it's different for everyone. First mc I bled for over a week.

Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long this time.

Brisbane Royal Womans.... and they took me straight in and did tests and ultra sounds to confirm that the MC was 'complete'. I m just wondering if thats still an option for you or maybe seeing it was not quite 3 weeks ago that maybe a GP might be able to advise you....... hey..... you may already have done all this to which i will shut up now ;)

Some of you find it amusing = but many are not. Comments and digs complaining about lack of tickers will no longer be tolerated. I have been patient. I have been kind. Good morning everyone...

So nothing happened last night, DH was too tired and thought, no drama tomorrow morning well bd.......

So before I was going to spin I said to DH lets do it and it just didnt happen....

I lost the plot, still am, sitting here crying and crying.

Im so scared that if I dont get pregnant this month now Im going to hate him and feel like its his fault.

We have been really lucky that with the termination we had no issues with each other, just a higher level of respect.

All i can feel now is if Im not pregnant Im going to blame him for making me live this hell for 6 weeks instead of 2.

I dont know if Im sounding irrational but I feel like Im falling apart. Im not depressed and am seeing someone anyway for post traumatic shock but this feeling is so so different.

He doesnt even seemed fazed, Im sure he is but I just am so so so scared I will hate him for 'making' it 6 weeks not 2.
I know it was a long shot to get pregnant anyway and now I feel like its all over even if the sperm gets to it now I have a break down it probably wont happen anyway so that is making me feel AGAIN that it is his fault because HE made me feel this way.

I dont know what to do, my temps dependning on how far I inserted the themo. differed again 37.0, 36.6 and 37.2

I feel like such a failure, I have no idea when or what Im supposed to do with bd'ing when where what with the temp etc

Yeah, I went to the doc and told him I had mc and he just looked sad and said "oh well better luck next time." I told him it was at 5 weeks and he felt no need to do anything tests etc. and went on to tell me that it's not unusual for that to happen so early. I haven't had any physical pains or twinges or anything that felt 'wrong' so haven't bothered to go back for anything further.

This morning I'm starting to feel that good old dull ache in the womb which on some level makes me happy as it means I have a starting point again but on other levels just makes me feel suddenly rather depressed.

And yeah, how come not everyone has to enter that image verification?!

Small fry- With my first M/C- i had a d and c and ovulated 3 weeks after it, and then fell pregnant immediatly but i had a chemical pregnany at 4 weeks and then ovulated three weeks after that again , but i do tend to ovulate a little later so basically my cycles went stright back on track. i guess it depends when your hcg levels drop. i had a natural M/C this cycle and i am only on day 7 today but i am hoping to get my cycle back on track quickly, however i am not charting this cycle as we are not activly ttc for a couple of months to get body right again. i did take one temp thismonrning just to see if my temp has come down hence the hcg levels and it was low again . so fingers crossed both our bodies bounce back again.

Actually i am thinking of going back to accupunctue ( i did it when ttc my daughter) just to help with M/C and hormone levels etc - i will let you guys know how it goes xo

Flower child- I was wondering if you wouldnt mind sharing with me, when your M/C hwere and if you know why as i see you have had a few (im sorry ) but yet also had many healthy pregnancies ? thanks

sally - I just want to offer you a great big :hug:. Don't lose hope. You have BD'd everyday up until yesterday. Sperm can survive for as long as 5 days, so even if you had a break yesterday, there is still a very good chance of conception from the days before. I have :crossfingers: for you. If you want to understand more about charting, I can't recommend Toni Weschler's book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility enough. It really helped me to understand my body better.

Sally - :hug: Hun i am so sorry your feeling this way. TTC with my DD was sure hard on our relationship too, i know exactly how you feel. My hubby and i got so depressed and doing the deed was just not romantic anymore . We are all here for you, just so you know the last two times i fell pregnant we didnt do the deed on ovulation day, one was the day before and the other was two days before

Sally- My hubby and I went through what you are describing. He said he just felt used! I guess guys grieve in different ways to us and it harder for them to express how they are feeling! big hugs xox

Not at all Sparkles. I had 4 children without any issue - though my 4th child was significantly smaller than her brother and sisters.

I had 3 miscarriages and 3 second trimester losses. I am a nurse nd I researchd like crazy and I believed my problem souded autoimmune. After each loss my Dr just told me it was bad luck... Finally after my last daughter died inutero I became obsessed with finding the answers. I took all the information I had to a number of doctors - and I also consulted with Dr Sacks at Sydney IVF. He concurred it seemed my problem was immunological. I then went about seeking out a obs who would listen to me. She concurred Ihad antiphospholipid syndrome. This is an autoimmune condition that prevents the placenta developing normally and this causes clots to form and thus the death of the developing baby suddenly and without warning.

I was commenced on prednisone (steroid) and began injecting clexane from ovulation along with baby asprin.

Imogen was conceived on 150mgs of Clomid and I was 39 at her conception... HTH :hug:

just quickly from me... Sally - I have been where you are month after month pretty much every month since the m/c in July. Except for us the problem is much bigger. DH has issues reaching climax - don't know why as it didn't used to be a problem before the m/c in July.. but since then it is a big big issue for us. Some months we are lucky to get one "successful attempt" in the O window. And I have spent night after night in tears and so angry and worked up... one night I actually had a panic attack I worked myself up so much. I will be honest, some months when AF arrives I have felt so angry with him - but for the most part I am ok... I know he tries really really hard (which I guess may be part of the problem for him - he is putting too much pressure on himself maybe?) so I try not to get upset... and I guess we never really know if this month would have been our month anyway - there are never any guarantees - even when we feel like we have done "everything right" iykwim.

At the Moment I'm at work and really flustered about one worker being a real drama queen, she's not getting her own way so she's throwing a fit. :wall: Hmmmmmmmm But in team there is no "I" so on with the collective I guess.

Lying in be last night I realised that next Friday is FET day! I'm so nervous,I've begun the wind down off caffeen, going 0% this time see if it makes a difference. and have been really enjoying the gym, I think that will also help mentally as well, good to push out all the angst in the morning. Also after last cycle I've put on a couple of confort kgs which need to go now.
