I just get mine done at a picture framers because I can't be bothered mucking around doing it, but if you want to do it yourself, get a cheap frame and some 3 or 5mm MDF from bunnings (have it cut to fit the frame) and some thin wadding from spotlight. Cut the wadding to fit the board and lightly glue onto it. then you need to position your cross stitch over the board (the wadding will help keep it in place). Turn it over so the cross stitch is face down. Now you can either do it one of 2 ways. First way is to get some adhesive spray and stick all the edges down with that and pull it tight evenly around the board so the tension is even and the cross stitch doesn't look distorted. Second way is to stitch it onto the frame. This can take time, but if you aren't confident with the spray adhesive you can try it. Do the same as the first way to start off with, then instead of the glue, get a long piece of thread and starting from the middle out, stitch from the top of one edge to the bottom of the other edge, like you are doing a triangle pattern. Make sure that your stitches are evenly tensioned. Then go back to the middle and do the other side the same way. Then you do the other two edges. To finish off both methods, you can get some framing tape - which you could get at a craft shop - pop the cross stitch and board into the frame and then tape into place with the tape. Get some wire and two picture hooks to put on either side then run the wire through and tie off so you can hang it on the wall. If you don't like the look of all the threads showing on the second method, get a piece of thin card and stick over it before popping in the frame and finishing off with the tape.
