The dress will be really pretty. If I get it right! The material is white with big baubels on it. Very pretty. But I can't sit at the table to do any sewing at the moment I'm starting to worry she won't get the dresses this year And I SO wanted her to wear the pretty material for her Santa photo this year!
Hey chickies! Finally have some sewing time and whipped up Izzy's sack adn about to do J's as well - took me under one hour! I need your help though - on the red section you can see HERE - I want to put her name - clearly have sewn it all already, so what is the easiest way to do it? Felt and glue? Or fabric applique just ironed on? I could sew around each letter I guess - a bit fiddly with it done but not impossible. HERE is J's completed as well! These were so easy and fast!! Both done in under 2 hours with faffing about going on in between!!!
ETA: MG be gentle with yourself hun, healing yourself is far more important although I know the feeling when you set yourself a goal you want to achieve.

very nice Tan! With the drawstring top, it might be pretty fiddly trying to sew their names on (without sewing the rest of the bag together, as I have done a couple of times sewing the pockets onto my bags! Lol). I'd probably fabric glue...or if you have the time/motivation you could hand stitch blanket stitch around the letters?
Tan, I just used the Vlisofix to put the names on the ones I did - so easy to do too and I don't think they will come off in a hurry either. They look really good
Oh cool Trill - I have a roll of it here, so I might do that and if it looks like it will come off I might hand stitch as well! Did you print your font or hand write it on?
I just did all their names in MS word in a font that would 'cut' well (Impact) and then traced it onto the vlisofix before I ironed it onto the fabric and cut the letters out.

Have finished all of the nick nack holders. I decided to make some rum balls or shortbread or something to wrap in cellophane, then put in them before i wrap them up just to make it a bit more of a present! Lol. so they're on hold until a bit closer to christmas. Started cutting out fabric to make DD's fridge magnets, found some cool farm animals on hot pink fabric, which are large enough to make decent sized magnets. It only has horses, sheep, cows, pigs and chickens, so might make a dog and a few other things to go with them out of different fabric.
And I'm down to two bags now! I really didn't think I'd have the time to get what I wanted done, so I feel good about being somewhat on track!
Spoke to mum because the whole bobbin holder was spinning around in the casing and making a racket plus it's just been sounding a bit off...took the metal top plate off - cleaned out all the fluff and repositioned it and voila!!!!
My fracking visoflex won't stick. Looks like i will be hand sewing mine on - wish me luck haha I think I'm gonna need it - Enchanted you need to come and do mine, yours look awesome!
I've just started cutting out my bunting, love the pinking shears! We have friends coming on the weekend and I want to string it up outside. Dan - the sewing achievements might be amazing but my house (in the words of Enchanted) looks like it threw up.
My house looks like a bomb has gone off in it and my sewing is still sitting in a pile to be finished. I'm praying I can sit down and do the advent calendar on Wednesday. How long did it take to do Tan? I've read the instructions but they aren't very detailed for beginners like me. Any tips?
