I have decided to do a red and white Christmas tree theme this year (bought some lovely red and white wrapping papers) and I bought a large red and white check fabric on the weekend that I plan to make some decorations with it.
Yep Trillian, I wanted to put the name either in the long red block or initial in the small centre red square but I couldn't find anything at Spotlight to use. I'm going to make another sack and reverse the colours.
Gorgeous Eluned! I was going to alternate the fabric like that too but got all excited and forgot! Are you going to applique the letters on?? Im thinking felt and hand stitching now, will see how I go!
HERE is a link to my next project - going to make one each for the kids!!(Thanks again Enchanted for all the gorgeous links)
I've also cut out all of my triangles for my bunting with my pinking shears - just need to sew it on ribbon and string it up in our pergola outside!
do you think white and green is christmassy enough? I can't spend anymore $$ on fabric (DH would drop dead if I did) and I have some lovely whites and greens. What do you think?
Cat, whites and greens can still be christmassy for sure. You could cut out Christmas shapes (star, tree, bell) on one and sew them on the other. If you have some gold or red ribbon you could integrate that too.
Green and white will be gorgeous and fresh looking!! Sounds lovely!
My bunting is UP Here and Here! !!! I love it - whenever I look outside which is alot because of our 3 mt wide door/window I see them blowing away in the breeze! SUPER easy to make too! Definitely going to make some for DD's and DS's rooms!
Ribbon is 10 mts long with around 3cms between each triangle. Each triangle is around 19cm across the top and I used scraps I had left from my calendar so I'm not sure how much exactly!!! Pinking shears and thick ribbon with a zig zag stitch! So easy!
I've abandoned the Advent Calendar - with only a couple of days to have it redy, I will put it on next year's list.
But I managed to sit down and cut out the pattern for DD's dress last night. It was all I could manage though - I had hoped to cut the material as well. Too uncomfortable to sit at the desk today and need to finish my job application so hopefully I can do it later in the week.
