Oh great work!! Love the pants!! I have a MIP jacket pattern that I might have to pull out for winter for Izzy!
I was going to make a jumpsuit out of that material but it seemed like too much hard work, the cargo pattern is out of the book "make it perfect", so is the skirt I made for dd at the carols (it was supposed to have an apron attached). It's got some really easy patterns in it

I have finally got some sewing done and put the photos up in my blog. The link is at the bottom of my sig if you want to check them out. So far I have made a dolls nappy and matching top, a bunch of makeup bags and some cookie mixes in jars. The santa sacks are on their way and I'll be making the table runner tonight.
Thank you everyone for sharing your sewing, it has been lovely seeing what others are making![]()
I love the nappy & top set. Did you use a pattern for the makeup bags?
no pattern, I just make them up. I am really bad at following patterns
DH and I are trying to find small mirrors to put inside them and we will back them with the same fabric that the bag is made of, so that is challenge for today.
OMG I am NOT a seamstress! I tried to follow the pattern Trill posted for me and couldn't even do that!lucky I was using diff material and not the Christmas material! I have one more thing to try then I give up! Will have to stick to quilting!
Hey again ladies, I totally forgot to put a link up of the chrissy dress i made dd
anyone doing any last minute sewing??
I found this material the other night, and was spewing i didn't find it earlier!! I could have made a heap of aprons for all my girlfriends, hehehe

What is everyone up to this year!!!?? I have sacks from last year that I might just tidy up a bit and not sure what else this year! Maybe a few bags for friends and family and that's it!
I am trying to get into it this year - find it hard as is wrong season for me - but sewing/creating is one area I can get enthusiastic about. Not all are sewing as I tend to use iron on adhesive as a short cut where I can though as don't have a proper machine and have to hand sew.
I have a collection of bird fabric ornaments 1-25 as a type of advent calendar - which are gorgeous and am using with DD to teach her birds names - need to sew them up by the 1st. Also making an advent calendar with pockets (mainly using iron on adhesive - sorry I know this is a sewing thread) from the cheap fleece throws you can get from IKEA and scraps of Christmas fabric - not sure what will put in pockets yet maybe really nice chocolate and that can be for me and DH and the birds for DD.
I am making a few T-Shirts for some of DD's friends, and some personalized fabric ornaments for relatives (as not only work out cheaper than the printing companies but are lighter to put in post to England)

I ladies - I would love to join this thread!!
I love to get sewing but havent been able to do very much lately - so you have inspired me to give myself a project for the month of November!!
I would love to make an advent calander and DD her own christmas stocking - I am so excited about it.
Can I ask a random question for those who have home made advent calanders -> what do you put inside the pockets? I would love to do something that isn't lollies - but I have no idea what!!
Welcome Ash!! When I did mine I put in things like Have dinner on the beach, Make a Christmas Card, Sing carols after dinner, eat dinner at the park, go to the swimming pool, have a popcorn movie night etc. so they were all cheap and event things rather than lollies!! I did put a few choccies in some of them but thats it!!
If I don't go with the chocolate for grown ups, might put in little pictures, or stickers (DD loves stickers). Or I might make a little puzzle and put a piece in each pocket (e.g. chop up a picture stuck to some card - so it builds up each day)
That's a great idea Tan. We are culling all the chocolate/lollies/chips in this house but this way they still get a surprise and something special.
I am making the kids new Santa Sacks this year because i really don't like the ones I made last year. I've already brought the material and it's all washed and ready to go. Now just to find some time
I'm excited![]()
I'm excited too! I am going to pop into spotlight this afternoon after I pick DD up and get some supplies
Liviam - do you have santa sacks instead of stockings?
Ash my kids actually have both. My sister made them the most amazing stocking (from spotlight) which she lined, padded & beaded - they are gorgeous. But they are too small to use for presents without risking the seams popping. So we hang them above the Christmas tree and then Santa leaves them some choccies in them. I made them sacks last year but I really wasn't happy with them last year and really really don't like them this year.
I'm going to have another crack at them this year and if I'm not happy again, next year I'll just buy them made ones. I'm still trying to get the hang of this sewing stuff.
Did you get over to spotlight for supplies? What are your sewing plans?
I went to spotlight, chose all my fabric and a whole bunch of gorgeous Christmas embellishments - and then realised that my card was in DF's wallet when I was at the counter- I was so disappointed but there was nothing I could do lol
So last night I made a design of my advent calender so I can shop with a purpose next time lol
