    sewing fitted sheets

I want to sew some fitted cot sheets for DD, but am not sure how to cope with the elastic. Any suggestions? I don't have a lot of sewing experience and am using a basic Hasqvarna machine inherited from my mum.

    Thanks.

Can you sew a seam all the way around that you can thread elastic through?

I haven't tried this, but am hoping to make some fitted sheets myself, and that is what i was going to try.

Thanks Kate. That's what I was thinking of doing. I'm wondering if there is a way to better secure the elastic so it doesn't get twisted.

Once you have threaded the elastic through, and it is even all the way around you could sew across the hem at a few places that should keep it non-twisted. I hadn't thought of that aspect. I have done that with skirt elastic before and it worked.
