Hopefully there are some ladies here on BB who are skilled at making/altering clothing and can give me a bit of advice on this one - I'm stumped!

I bought a dress today, which fits me *perfectly*. It's a black satin mini-dress with flapper-style fringing on the front, and it's gorgeous. However, I was holding out for a dress that was fringed all the way around, not just on the front. I can't find any so I just bought this one, knowing I can buy the same fringing from Lincraft.

The tricky bit is this - the zipper (an invisible one, of course - the bane of my wardrobe! I can't stand them as they're so fragile and always catching and breaking!) is in the middle of the back of the dress, so I'm worried that a dressmaker won't be able to put fringes on the back without leaving a big gap where the zip is, or that they'd basically have to take the dress to pieces to sew the fringes on and then put it back together.

Can anybody clue me in on how that might work, and if it would be possible to do?? I'm planning on ringing around some dressmakers on Monday and seeing whether anybody can do it... I hope someone can, it's an adorable dress, I'm just a bit self-conscious about my backside in it and want it to be fringed all the way around so people don't see me from behind and think I'm out and about in my nightie!! (It looks like a slip from the back lol!)
