For my bday this year (back in Jan), my mum said she would pay for sewing lessons. I have a good sewing machine, but don't even know how to turn it on.. Sewing is one of those really important skills i wish i had learnt in school (along with cooking.. instead my rich private school insisted on 'progressive' electives... whilst learning golf on the back turf was fun, it is not helping me in my married life)
So, i'm looking for a place that teaches from very beginners, and hopefully i can take it through from that to the level where i can make stuff for both kids & myself from a pattern, and i would also like to learn how to repair stuff. Don't really need to know how to make my own pattern designs at this stage.
Found a great place near me that had what i wanted, with daytime classes, but the lady said the evenings are fully booked, but the daytime ones she is struggling to fill, and don't know how long it would be before the class runs. I would much prefer to do it around midday, 'cos i have a better chance of staying awake, and i'm really trying to get into the habbit of winding down and going to bed earlier, so if i did nighttime classes i would start getting worse i think!. Otherwise Sunday classes are great for me.
