MrsBexie - what a great start to your business hun! Out of curiosity how long does one pair of ruffle covers take you? Was discussing the logistics with DH the other day and want to see if I am right

From start to finish... About 2hrs. But i dont have an overlocker yet (i will next weekend tho!!!' ) so it takes longer having to iron n hem the ruffles.
Once i get the overlocker i should be able to do it in about 1.5hrs.

What did you think it was?

Pandora - hope you are enjoying the quilt! Be careful, it becomes addictive! Before you know it you are 'stashing' fabric madly for more and more quilts you *will* be making in the future!

teheh too late! I've been stashing fabric for years,lol
I've done patchwork quilts before but never appliqué.

EJ: Once u know how to knit/crochet you won't forget. Just takes a little jigging of the memory and youtube is great for that! I love hand knitted stuff esp those made out of good quality yarn. Just lasts forever and soooo much love goes into making it too.

Little lara: You can use 2 circulars to knit in circle any number of stitches. It's really just like working with 4/5 dpns. I just get annoyed with the stitches falling off the dpn so easily esp when u store them even with those stopper things. If you search on google knitting 2 circular in circle than you'll find some really nice photos to show you how. Some people love knitting circles that way some don't. It's so useful when doing jumpers though coz the dpns don't come in such big needle sizes. Ooh a scarf sounds lovely! I love knitting in winter too, esp cuddled up on the couch with a cup of hot tea. Hmmm....

Oooh I just got my pair of ruffles from Mrs Bex and LOVE them!!! They are so gorgeous I can't wait for summer to come so DD can wear them.

Where do you find/buy/get your sewing patterns from?
I'm a beginner but I'm willing to give anything a go. So excited to start making stuff other then with wool.


When I had forgotten how to crochet I just went to youtube and watched some videos on it. It refreshed my memory.

Ooh inspiring thread

I have just made a couple of skirts for Pie and a jacket. I didn't have a pattern for the jacket so I drew one onto newspaper and it actually turned out ok - not perfect but wearable She refuses to wear skirts though.

I have a quilt for Panda to finish, I am up to the qulting stage & it is a PITA on my machine so it is hard to be motivated with it. Once that is done I will start on quilts for the boys, I am going to do a rag quilt which is a quilt as you go method - so I avoid having to quilt the whole lot in one go.

I have a business with my mum and at the moment i am making nappy wallets for our local market and have recently started a facebook page and have a few things on madeit. I also make baby slings - ring and pouch style and got some gorgeous local tie dyed fabric yesterday which is going to make the best sling so will hopefully get started on that soon. My other project is an order for a pram liner but mum might do that one, will have to see how i go.

what is a nappy wallet?

I've been making taggies and this afternoon finished cutting squares for a quilt. I have 4 bundles of squares to make 4 quilt tops now. Just have to start it but I need matching coloured thread first. A trip to Spotlight is in order....

Nappy wallets are a wallets which fits 2-3 nappies, a wipes container, a tube of cream and some nappy sacks. Just really handy when you don't want or need the whole nappy bag and they are a bit different and funky.
