Where do you buy your cross stitch kits?

I tend to buy from The Fox Collection and at craft fairs.

Trillian - I'm the same when it comes to shops. The last one I bought in store was from Clegs in Melbourne in about 1999! The range that stores have are so small. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have a program too. I can make anything into a pattern, not just for xstitch, but knitting, quilting, beeding.. I havent really used those much though, only the xstitch part of it mainly. but yea, you can do free hand or insert already done patterns and edit them, or you can get a photo and it will convert it for you and you can select how many colours you want and how detailed.

yea not many in shops, online is the best way, ive only really checked out the ones other people have mentioned.

I usually have an idea in mind & do a Google search for the particular theme. It can be time consuming sifting through all the options though!

For kits I'd go with the fox collection.

Vicstitch (or Ozstitch) has never really had all that much of interest for me, but I do find that they are the best place to buy fabric.

I prefer to buy patterns and source the fabric and threads myself (because I've got something like 3-4 boxes of stranded cottons!), and to buy just the chart - the online stores from overseas are usually your best bet.

And the best stuff... kits or otherwise, seems to come from the UK. I want to move to the UK just for my cross stitch habit! If only my hands were better and more able to actually do stuff!

I get alot of mine from ebay, you can buy anything your heart desires there.
And alot from overseas are brilliant and really cheap.

has anyone mentioned Heaven and Earth Designs?
they have amazing stuff, really large complicated patterns though, but amazing works of art when you are done. they are sorted by artist so prepare to take time to go through them all - but worth it
