I'm up to Freed. As bad as the writing is I don't care. I now have a Christian Grey obsession & I'm not afraid to admit it![]()
I'm another who battled through the first book because of the writing. I mean, what is it with her mindless inner monologue?? Every time she gets aroused, "Oh my!" "Holy crap!" etc etc.
And I enjoyed Twilight, so that should give you some indication of how VERY bad this book is! There's several hours of my life I'm never getting back.
Trill, stick with the blog! What I read of it was funny.
Loved Ellen's reading too.
For those who aren't offended by jabs at Stephanie Meyer, search YouTube for 'Alex reads Twilight' - chapter by chapter, that was great for a giggle as well.

I have a crush on him too! Miss him![]()
I have finished all three books. I miss Christian Grey and his controlling ways.
Yep, this is one of the reasons I've popped back for a visit... to get a reliable set of opinions on this book!So thanks especially, Rouge, Trillian, Astrid etc keep the thoughts coming.
Also, I have an unedited book that, when I finally have my life back after uni, I hope to finish and it's kinda motivating to hear that people are largely forgiving of the quality of writing IF the story is good!
I haven't read the Twilight series... so won't really understand those connections.
Also... one reason I haven't read FSOG is that my DH doesn't wear his suits and ties anymore since he stopped workingI miss that and I'm worried that it'll just make me even sadder... but that's pretty shallow isn't it?
LOL, it's more about what you do with the ties, I think.
I'm another totally crushing on Mr Grey!!
DP loves that I love the books - happy wife, happy life? Happy DP!!
I'm finding it hard to get into because it is like somebody didn't know how to use a thesaurus properly, some of the word choices are just so odd and awkward.
Iv just finished the last book. Im so sadits like I have broken up with Mr Grey LOL!
I do hear that they are going to make a movie!! Hmmmmm.....
Have just started. Ehhhhhh, I can't stop reading but it's too soon to call, although Ana is annoying and predictable. Writing very fan fictiony.
Kirsten Stewart?? Really? I haven't read these books but the sex scenes in Twilight were really awkward (and I'm sure there will be more in Breaking Dawn 2) and I can't imagine a whole movie of them...!!!
[QUOTE=Heather72;3140105]I heard Alexander Skarsgard has been tipped as Mr Grey and maybe Kirsten Stewart as Anastasia.
Oh I could actually really see him as Christian Grey. Please god no Kristen Stewart! Blerg!!
I heard a review of Snow White yesterday. The guy said the CGI effects were brilliant, but it was a pity nobody CGI'ed some acting ability onto Kristen Stewart! Liked that
Eric Northman does Christian Grey? Come to mumma ... (I'm guessing ... I still haven't read any of it other than what's in here, and bits and pieces quoted in various mocking blogs ... I'll get there though, I promise!!)
Kirsten Stewart as Ana? Fifty Shades of NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO!!!
