MrsS - I like your idea of how to choose the book.....now to think of my choice!! I like to be stretched as well and made to think about stuff. Books that are a little difficult or uncomfortable to read like "We need to talk about Kevin" by Lionel Shriver really appeal to me.

I guess we could develop a shortlist to work through too. Is it one book a month?

I think it's recently been out at the movies (not that I've been since having kids lol....I'm not sure if it will stretch ppl though.

Ishmael by Daniel Quinn = Profound enough to make you think but easy enough to read that it doesn;t require masses of energy

I would like to try some classics I haven't read yet too - some ****ens or something...

I was thinking of letting everyone pick a book but if we did it monthly (which Im thinking of) then with the approx 30 people we have thats 30 months before the 1st person gets to pick again providing no extras join in!

So decision time I will decide how to do it from the next 5 replies ( i really want this BC going im going crazy not reading lol)
So everyone picks and we shortlist from that OR everyone gets a turn to pick a book?

Although i'm not a big sci-fi fan, the closest i've come to sci-fi is reading the Twilight series (maybe considered more fantasy) and although i enjoyed this for the most part it got a bit much for me towards the end

Not fussed about who chooses personally - I really like the idea of being exposed to different choices! Very excited here - my 2 brain cells are getting restless, lol!
