Do you read Mills & Boon? Why do you?

I love M&B books. I can't put them down.I finish one, and bring out the next one. My hubby asked why i read them all the time? I reply " i read them because you ain't romantic enough and i want to know what romance can be like" My DH is and has been my one and only man in my life (I wasn't allowed to date, being a muslim). He isn't very romantic and i am. I get all excited when read about other people's romance life. It does annoy me that he ain't romantic and i wish he was.
Just wanted to know why you read them?

I don't read M&B books - but I am OBSESSED with Twilight for the same reason - the romance story.

I have downloaded the movie and DH came home to find me watching it, whilst reading Eclipse at the same time. He said, and I quote, "You're either reading it or watching it. What is wrong with you?" I told him if he was anything like traditional, romantic, protective Edward I wouldn't need them!!!

nothing like a good chick flick or lit!

I'd love to write one day, but don't think i have the artistic flair.

I don't read them, but my mum's an avid M&B fan. I've tried out a few and just found them a bit too soppy and flowery for my taste... I guess I'm just a cynical old woman who knows life isn't the fairytale M&B novels portray!! I mean, I never met a doctor in my life who was tall, dark AND handsome :P
I love my trash-lit, but I like it a bit harder - Jackie Collins is great for that

Well actually I have a good friend who fits this description, AND he cooks the most amazing gourmet dinners too. Hmmm, there's a M&B in me somewhere, I'm sure! LOL

mine doesn't need to be a tall, dark, handsome doctor

just a tall, dark, handsome, spaniard will do the trick. Oh and he has to be super rich. Oh and he needs to have strong arms and perfect pecs.

Thank God hubby doesn't look at this site!

i dont anymore....but i used too...and i loved them. Maybe because they were so quick to finish, and im a rather impatient person, so felt satisfaction in fully reading a book.....in my early 20s when i did read them i guess i was looking for love and it was nice to be sucked into the romance thing.....

I do occassionally (maybe a couple a year). I like them because they are quick to read and finish and you know exactly what you are getting yourself in for - you know they will get together in the end and sometimes it is nice to be sure of the ending!

I like reading them because you don't have to think or analyze what you are reading.

I used to read my sister's years ago but she stopped reading them and I never bothered buying my own.

If you think you can write one you should give it a go - they're very lucrative.

Pfft, like you don't gasp every time you see a shiny volvo.

And I happen to like my men cold, dead and sparkling. I'd like to La Push Jacob Black off a cliff. I'm not really homicidal - I have just been diagnosed with OCD (Obsessive Cullen Disorder)

I used to read them when I was a teenager - mainly because my Nan had heaps of them and I could read them in a couple of days over my holidays - although to be honest it was more the Woman's Weekly ones rather than M&B - but same genre...

my mum has heaps, whenever I'm at her place I devour them - a quick 2-hour read that's not earth-shattering.

Which do you prefer? I'm partial to the medical romance & sweet romance ones.
