    Oh, I'm hanging out to get that one Pandora! I've got a lot of other books to read first though. Currently, reading Daughter of the Empire, which you might like LMS! There's three in the series. If you do end up liking those sorts of books, Robert Jordan is quite good but be warned, he is very detailed in his writing and his books take forever to read!

    Other books I've enjoyed reading are the Jodi Picoult books and I also really enjoyed reading The Time Traveler's Wife.

    Laranna, NO! Come on, friends don't let friends read Jordan.

    Sure, it starts off OK, you think you can handle it - then a minor character gets half a book to themselves, there's no plot progression, characters turn into charactatures and then he (Jordan) dies. OK, I know the series is being finished now but don't go there if you can help it. Says the girl with a bookshelf full of Jordan.

    Have you tried Discworld? Love those - they keep the pace, humour and real characters still after five books. After 30+ for that matter. The Bookworld series by Jasper Fford (starting with The Eyre Affair) is great for book-lovers who also enjoy humour and parallel-world fantasy.

    Twilight is the obvious teeny vampire book: it is very silly but also very readable.

    Twilight is the obvious teeny vampire book: it is very silly but also very readable.
    I had considered it. I should have gotten them yesterday as they were all 75% off but i might borrow them from my niece.

    Thanks ladies. I have written down all your suggestions and i will check them all out.

    I will have to buy a bookcase now!

    Ive got a list of Urban Fantasy (thats what the twilight et al genre is called these days apparently) authors if your interested.
