Well I'm surprised, I always thought she'd died and that was the end of the story-writing?

great idea! Mine are worn from years of reading so I may even buy a few new copies

I found the 3 chapters on line (Crown publishing I think) and have started reading them. So excited!

at you lot! Glad to know I'm not the only fan! I remember when the Plains of Passage came out - I was sooo excited (and still living at home with Mum & Dad) that I bought it instead of paying board that week Mum and Dad were fans too and forgave me!

You can find the chapters at the facebook page (if you're on fb) - just search for Jean M Auel in Australia and there's a link on the left side. You have to click a few times to get to the publisher's site where the pages are - but it's worth it!

FWIW Liz - I usually re-read the whole series too (did with most of the Harry Potters too) but not this time. With a 2 year old, I just don't have time! But I am re-reading the Shelters of Stone

Just found this gem on her site
A grandmother of 15, Auel says, "I'm still planning to write six books," but now she admits, "I am not 100% sure I can get it all in one more book."
so I wonder if it is the last.
