Well I have found some books at the library for Juniors on the subject - so I am going to get the winter one out and educate myself and make a toddler suitable guide for DD.

Seasons in Australia Series "Each book in this series introduces one of the four traditional seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter - and explains why and when the different season occurs. In each title, seven case studies outline seasonal variations in different regions, and are supported by full-colour photographs, tables and diagrams"

Just came across a book in the school book club list:
    "A Year on our Farm"
A beautifully illustrated story that shows the changing of the seasons through the eyes of children that live on an Australian Farm
sounds interesting, I might pick it up as it is only $6 with the book club rather than $16

Thanks for highlighting this one - I have checked and they have in our library so although is a bit old for my DD (says 8-10) I am going to reserve it for me. The review says

"Wonderfully illustrated story of life on the farm. Each month gets two pages, explaining the activities for that time of year. Seasons, farm tasks, life cycles and animals all get a go"
