Heather, I just got Lola's Secret too. About to start.

But I am sooooo excited that Isobelle Carmody is releasing the next installment in the Obernewton Chronicles in six days! it was supposed to be the final book but they've split it in two. I've been reading these since I was 14! Any other fans out there?

    Who?

    I don't know her.

I love Cathy Kelly. She's probably my favorite.

Started reading Lola's Secret last nigh and I couldn't put it down. I had to actually force myself to turn off the light and then I was wide awake for another hour wanting to keep reading! I didn't realise that it's the same family as Alphabet Sisters!

Definitely read it Cass. I finished it today in a lying on the couch reading marathon. Fantastic read and all the more worthwhile when you read the author's note at the end.

The Help is a great book!

    I finished Lola's secret, I loved it.

I am now reading The Slap. I am finding it quite interesting and easy read. I am also watching the show and find that I have sympathy for Rosie in the book and not the TV show.
I am half way through Harry.
I am enyoying reading and watching. I am finding reading the book is helping the TV show make more sense to me, as in how the characters are coming across.
Like OP, I find some of the sexual explicit scenes over the top. Although, I know what to expect as Christos Tsiolkas also wrote Head On, I saw that movie too and it was also very sexually explicit.

I finished Lola's secret, felt a bit like it ended abruptly. Wanted to know the outcomes of all the guests and now I'm hoping there'll be another one.

Yesterday mum got me the new Cathy Kelly and the fifth book in the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants series. I'm glad there is another one. The fourth book left me feeling sad because the characters were all sad. Won't get them until Christmas though so I've started rereading Obernewtyn.

I agree, it did end rather abruptly.

Which Cathy Kelly? I just checked Fantastic Fiction and it only has one coming out March next year?

Yup, fan here too. Oddly enough, had to get my books from the US as they're not published in the UK any more. I have recently given the series away to a friend - have had a MAJOR book cull, but it's on my "to buy" list when DH gets me an e-reader. (I had to get rid of books before we moved, although can get them back electronically.) So I won't be reading the next installment until the new year at the earliest.

TFB - I shouldn't rush reading the new one. We all know it'll take forever for the next (and so called final) installment!
