About to start The Constant Gardener. I think I read it years ago and I love the film. I also have The Tiger's Wife to read.
The film is great. I haven't read the book though.

Given up completely on that book.

Getting the new Sookie Stackhouse officially given to me tomorrow, as part of my Mothers' Day present. Have already had someone unintentionally spoiler me on it, but oh well. Still gonna read it of course!! Hope it's still good

Just started a new Maeve Binchy called Full House. She has some characters from her other books and some new ones. She never disappoints.

I finished Beautiful Disaster, great book really. Along the lines of Crossfire Trilogy and 50 shades...much better than 50 shades, that couldn't be too hard

I just finished reading "Room" by Emma Donoghue.

It was quite a good book! Not the best i've read, but it definitely had me interested and was quite an interesting topic for a book IMO.

Basically it's written from the point of view of a 5 year old boy who lives in "room" with his mother, they have never been in the outside world, and they are being held captive. Then the story shows them trying to escape from the room and what happens. I thought it was really, really interesting just the concept and then the aftermath

Finished Mildred Pierce - highly recommend it!

Just ordered the Call the Midwife series from Book Depository. Will read the last in the Hunger Games trilogy while I am waiting. I started it a few months ago but got distracted so will start again.

I'm reading a book called "The Natashas" which is about sex workers, and how and why they end up in that field. Then I've got the mirroring book called "The Johns" which is about men who pay for sex, and the general categories of factors which leads them to do so.

Very, very confronting, and very, very eye opening.

I don't think I can come into this thread anymore... Did not like The English Patient or Michael Ondaatje??? What is this foolishness? The English Patient is one of my all time favourite movies. I did Running In the Family for my English lit degree.

His latest book, The Cat's Table, was actually quite different to his others. I may not be the best guide if you didn't like his others, but it was definitely worth the read.
