DD has a lot of books, but her current favourites are the Hairy Maclary series, especially Scattercat and Showbusiness. Her first favourite book as a baby was I Know A Rhino. She loves Playmates and The Waterhole. Good Night Me is a good one for bedtime.
Big sellers where I worked were Pamela Allen's books, starting with Who Sank The Boat, and then onto things like Mr McGee. Mem Fox is also a good one with Where Is The Green Sheep (which I wasn't a fan of but kids loved) and Koala Lou. John Butler books are great too - If You See A Kitten was a nightly read here when DD was really little.
Anything that has a rhyme at the end, that the kids can predict works really well (ie - I know a rhino, he likes to take tea. I have two sugars and rhino takes three). We wouldn't read the final word and DD would scream it out. Books are lots of fun here
I guess you could say that these are favourites of mine too - seeing as I bought 99% of them while I was working before she was born. I had visions of having a child that hated books
We have a wide selection as well. DD likes the "How do Dinosaurs" series. Anything Fairy. But a few we have are:
There's a Sea in my bedroom
There's a Hippopotamaus on my school roof.
Where do Kisses come from
Frosty the snowman
The sleepy dog and other stories
Oh the places you'll go
Cat in the hat
Good night Me
Sorry
Wombat Stew (LOVES this one!)
