I know canned tomatoes are particularly bad because of the acids in the tomato being able to leech it out, but I don't know if that if really 100% true or just an urban myth sorry.
I've heard that canned food contains BPA so generally I try to avoid it where I can. Does anyone know though... does all canned food contain BPA? How do you know if it does/doesn't?

It's not all cans. Some companies will used certified BPA-free cans. Otherwise, finding things in glass jars is good too.
I thought it was in the plastic-y stuff on the inside of the lid of the can - which is also on the inside of the lid in glass bottles and jars?
I also thought it was only problematic when things were heated up, as that's when it gets out ... ?
I thought BPA was only dangerous if heated too?
