Smallish country location? They may have a local bakery who may be able to provide a lot of things.
Danni's suggestion sounds good, but depends on what sort of food you have in mind (ie, 'a bit special'). Salads, bbq chickens, etc would be quite easy for you to do, and probably a lot less of a headache than trying to arrange fancy things, and worring about how they are presented, etc.
