anyone eat prawn shells cooked all crispy?

Last night we went to a tepinyaki bar and I was a bit hesitant, but I ate the shell and it was delicious! I couldnt believe the flavour!

I have eaten them too a few times - also at tepinyaki. a bit freaky at first but boy they are yummy!

Is it a special type of shell...I thought it was dangerous to eat prawn shells (they can cut your insides)??

MD, nah its just the shell of the prawn! They are cooked for quite a while and it becomes crispy rather than sharp iykwim?

Do they marinate it, batter it, fry it...? I just can't imagine it being a tasty lil treat...tho I suppose some countries go for crunchy fried insects (!) and it would have to be better than that LOL!
