I did this too. I made spaghetti bolognaise, curry (mild due to bf), risotto, and chicken pasta (actually my beautiful friend made this one for me - enough for 3 meals!!). These are all really easy to make. Lasagne would be another good one.
Gday ladies,
I'm trying to get together some recipes to cook when my EDD gets closer (freeze and defrost once bub is born to save cooking then).
Any good recipes that keep well frozen?
Im not the most talented chef, so simple is great (but im welcome to all suggestions). If not, do you know of a good website with this kind of info?
thanks

Hi Tellytubby. I just googled "freezer meal recipes" and came up with lots of possibilities.
I was trying to get lots of meals cooked before my bubs was born, but it didn't eventuate. Best of luck to you though.
Good idea tellytubby! Best of luck with your cooking. Here's some of the things that I make for the freezer:
- mexican style bean vegetable hot pot
- lamb or beef stew with chickpeas
- curry style dish with cooked rice mixed through (freezes better if mixed through)
- hearty soups
A few tips too:
- you can buy cheapo tupperware style containers with blue lids at coles in a pack of five for about $3. I use these becuase then all my meals stack together in my freezer. I have about 15 of them!
- I can't be stuffed cooking something to go with what I've frozen, so all my meals are "all in one", so I don't have to cook rice or whatever to go with it.
- Label your meals! No nasty suprises!
You might also want to do some healthy muffins - you need to keep your energy up (or so I'm told). I do healthy carrot muffins.
Hope this helps!
