I went to make some mousse yesterday and mine was use by 20th, ooops! I chucked it as it says use by and not best before iykwim?
So my cream is use by 24/01. It is unopened. I was going to make some scones - so some of it in the mix, then beat the rest for on top of them.
Would you use it?

I personally wouldn't, don't trust
Dairy.
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
Yeah that's why I'm hesitating!
See if DH can bring some home maybe... Don't want to make anyone sick on Straya Day!
Nope, I wouldn't use it.
I would. Especially as it's not opened. Cream that is off will smell. If it doesn't it is fine.
I do it all the time.
^ That.
Eat a spoonful and if it's off you'll know.
Honestly, I would be very surprised if it would be off just being out of code by two days.
Really?? I am inspired.
I sort of thought "well it isn't going to magically go off at midnight on the 25th"... Maybe I'll give it a whiff.
Or taste. If I dare.
I have used it a week out and it was perfectly fine.
Think it's fine. Scones here we come!!!
Except I am out of SR flour. How do I convert plain to SR?
A teaspoon of bakingpowder to a cup of plain (I think!). Check the baking powder tin.
Just checked - two teaspoons baking powder to a cup of plain flour.
Can I come over!!! Love home made scones!
Glad your cream was ok, I'm funny with things like that and very rarely consume dairy anyway!
Duh, check the tin. Didn't think of that!!
Thanks N2L![]()
