Diced pear cups for muffins?

Hi Ladies,

I'm wanting to make some pear muffins for DD who is having a few poo issues. All the recipes I have found call for pears (funnily enough!) but I don't have fresh pears (and am avoiding a trip to the shops) - could I use a couple of those snack tubs of pears if I drained them?
