Just an end of year thing WYSIWYG.

I remember having it at primary school (30+ years ago ) so it's been around a while...

I regard it as their office Christmas party - the classroom is their 'office' after all.

We had it when I was a kid but it wasn't just a classroom thing. All the parents came too and everyone bought a plate and we had a huge buffet full of party food. That was at a small school in the country so all the parents wasn't a huge crowd.

That's only because they don't know how to use the photocopier - if DS2 knew such things were possible wild horses wouldn't drag him away from the photocopier

haven't come across this with DD yet, but our team at work are notorious for "spur of the moment" morning teas, with a plea for all of us to bring morning tea - and 9 times out of 10 people don't eat! we're too bloody busy helping people to eat! occassionally i'll bake (if we want to bake for us) but generally it's packet food that can be stored and brought out again the next time morning tea is requested! i guess i'll be the same when it comes to things for DD

i know with baby buddies meets i've baked - and done both sweet and savoury - i'd prefer savoury food any day, so i'm not averse to putting my hand up to supply the sausage rolls at a get together lol
