I have all day had a lamb curry cooking away beautifully in the slow cooker, I just went to stir it and found... the moisture pack from under the lamb!!! I thought I checked it, I turned it over & didn't see it so went about my way... (the lamb was partially frozen so went into the sc in a soft block)
So is that it? My beautiful lamb curry (which was part n' partial to my random act of kindness) is it gone?
Where did you buy the meat from? If you got it from a supermarket, maybe you could ring them and ask? They may be able to put you through to the butcher?
If it's still intact it might be ok if it's broken and the crystals have gone into the food I would give it a miss.
Maybe you could ring the poisons information center.
actually it shouldn't be. I am sure that I read somewhere (just googled and can't find it now of course) that there is some health regulation that says that they can't leech any toxins if they are cooked etc because people can accidentally cook them (as we see here). I did accidentally microwave one once recently and it didn't seem to cause any damage to the food (but I did get DH to taste it first LOL)
So long as the plastic coating in still intact it should be fine to just keep on cooking it.
I have no idea if it would cause any issues or not, i have put one in oven before for a short time before i realised I had not checked and it was all ok (i also got DH to test first !!! LOL)
