Chicken Mince...Will it still be okay??

I got some chicken mince the other day and put it in the fridge to use and forgot it was there It was hiding lol! Any way its use by date is 2nd may, today and im wondering if it will still be okay to use, It will be used for both me and DS and the portions for DS will be frozen as will my left overs (cooking for 1!) If its okay to use now, will it be okay to freeze it for DS? It hasnt been frozen before either!

Definitely not, especially given you are pregnant food poisoning is bad. And its just not worth it. Don't worry AJP I'm scared of chicken too LOL!

i used my chicken mince last night and it was use by 1 may 2006, we all ate it including my little one, in fact she had it for dinner tonight.... no dramas...
not sure on the freezing issue though.
if in doubt chuck it out.

Cailin & AJP- Im scared of chicken too, fish also! Generally i dont like to cook it cause im scared it wont cook properly lol

Emma- Lol!! I didnt notice you said 2006 until you said! Yep 2006 chicken would be nasty

I was leaning more to ditching it, so thanks again.

If it doesnt smell off, i will cook it up for the cats and dogs Better to be safe than sorry or sick in this instance!
