Freezing stews

I prepare on the night of eating. I have never thought to freeze mashed potato as I imagine that it would come out like sloppy mush when defrosted.

Rice freezes ok, but if you need accompaniments which are quick to prepare, try instant polenta or couscous.

Good on you for freezing-ahead - I did this with DS#1 and found it quite helpful. Good luck
