I don't think there's a lot you can do to make the last for ages. Cucumbers don't seem to store well. I usually try and eat mine asap.
Don't store them with apples and tomatoes and other fruit because they seem to make them decay faster.
Just curious how and where you store your cucumber?
Like Lettuce is in the lettuce crisper, celery i wrap in foil as it keeps it crisp, but cucumber i cant seem to master. It just does want to stay fresh for long.. just collapses and goes soggy and yuck. Ive tried wrapping it in foil, or in plastic.. nothing makes any difference.
So curious if anyone has any secrets!
TIA!!

I'm having the same problem, we have lots of cucumbers and can't eat them fast enough. I will be watching with interest.
How about pickling some of them Rosehannah?
Dottie's Pickle Patch: Cucumber Pickles
to stop cucumber going to mush, do not wrap it. if it is left unwrapped the end will dry out and you only have to cut off the dry bit to use the rest. i have been able to keep them for weeks like this.
I don't wrap cucumbers either, just put it straight in the fridge, usually on the middle shelf. Then when I use it again, usually a day or two later I only have to cut off about 1 -2 cm's.
Oh will try that Ali!! Thanks!!
I have the best luck when I put them in a Fridgesmart (Tupperware) - I put them in unwrapped and they seem to last longer.
I only just saw this but was going to say fridgesmart too! I dont know what i did before I got them! (but then i am a tupperware demonstrator!)
My fruit and veg last HEAPS longer now
