    Exclamation How Dumb am I?!?

Okay, that's a bit of a rhetorical question, 'cos I know I just did a REAL DUMB thing!

I made my usual mississippi mud cake, the usual way. But for one teeny tiny minute detail.

I FORGOT TO ADD THE D*MN EGGS TO THE MIXTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had I have realised straightaway, I would have put them in. But, I have only just noticed the two beaten eggs sitting in the bowl, looking rather lonely on the bench, fifty five minutes after putting the cake in the oven!

The cake is supposed to be done at 5.15, so I will see what mess I have made then. Oh well. Just have to make another one. With eggs though...

And if I have to make another, I will have to use the Man's better scotch, instead of the cheaper stuff, because I finished the other bottle before in the first 'cake'.

Thanks njd. You rofl fills me with that spark of self confidence I was looking for.

I just can't believe I did that?!? DOH!

And the next one might have to wait until after dinner (no, hang on, it WILL have to wait until after dinner), because.... Nope, no reason (aside from laziness I guess...). DAMMIT! Have I already said that?

I have done the same thing but with a sponge cake - came out very crumbly. I just used it to sprinkle over ice-cream! Still i had to make another cake. Hope the 2nd worked better for you xo

I didn't get around to making the second cake. Will do I think when the first one is eaten/given to the birds. The Boy is more than happy to eat it, the Man had some then said it had a funny taste, so I'm not too worried. Its yummy with cream.

The outside is REALLY crumbly, and the centre is more 'fudgey' (similar to how it usually turns out. I realised I also over cooked it by fifteen minutes too! Someone can't read a clock!

It was meant to be for our guests last night, but I made my butterscotch pudding instead, which doesn't have any eggs in it, and is much quicker preparation and cooking too.

Don't you hate it when you forget the ingredients that are sooo common... lol. I've forgotten to put eggs in cakes a few times...

That's okay guys. Laugh at my expense. Fine.. See if I care...

No, just joking, I had to vent the other day, because I couldn't believe that I had done that, and also for the humour of others.

I think birds are going to get the rest of the cake, unless there is some cream left, and I will eat some more...... After I nuke it.
