Grab yourself some of the ''SMASH" gel ice packs for lunch boxes

I got Luke's from woolworths (in the aisle where the lunchboxes & drink bottles are) - they come in a little packet of three & you freeze them, and them put them in the lunch box to keep things cold.
They're only small, but they do the job - you'll probably only need one but they come in a set of 3.

They're excellent - most afternoons when I unpack Luke's bag after school, the lunchbox is still well & truly cold enough, and thats hours after he has eaten all of his food at lunchtime

He always has ham & cheese on his sandwich, (or something similar) some cheese & crackers & fruit (along with other things, lol).
If he hasn't eaten everything, the left over things are still always cold when I unpack the lunchbox in the afternoon.

thanks hollybolly, thats good advice. do you use one of those insulated lunch bag things though? i just got DD1 a plan old plastic rectangular one. it should work in that too hey?

I just put it in a seperate sandwich plastic bag! (With the snap lock) There's a little condensation, but not enough to make anything go soggy
