    Mrs Fields
    Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Ingredients

    2 ½ Cups plain flour
    ½ tsp baking powder
    ¼ tsp salt
1 Cup dark brown sugar – firmly packed
    ½ Cup white sugar
1 Cup salted butter – softened
    2 large eggs
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    2 Cups chocolate chips

    Method

Preheat oven to 300 Degrees Fahrenheit or 150 degrees Celcius
In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well with wire whisk and set aside.

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, blend sugars at medium speed. Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scaping down the sides of the bowl. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix at medium speed until just blended. Do not overmix.

Add the flour mix and the chocolate chips, and blend at low speed until just mixed. Do not overmix.

Drop rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie tray, covered with greaseproof paper.

Bake for approx 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Transfer cookies immediately to a wire cake rack.

    Enjoy!

Nope straight from my cookbook on my shelf. Actually, it's straight off my hard drive cause I've had to share the recipe around a lot. It's very popular. I ended up typing it up so I could email or print it as necessary.

Hope you enjoy them. There's plenty in the book, but this is my absolute fav. Yum!
