Continental shepherds pie mix. It's really yummy![]()
Recently I caved and bought a packet mix brownie. It was the new Adriano Zumbo line made by Greens. DD made it yesterday and I have to admit, it was very nice
What packet things -sweet or savoury- do you buy/have you bought that have surprised you with their "niceness"?
Continental shepherds pie mix. It's really yummy![]()
I have vowed never to make a cake from scratch again after I used and Ernest Adams box mix for DD's birthday cake. It came out perfect! Not a volcano, not a donut, just a perfect cake. Tasted good too.
Saucy Spice Co Afghani Lamb Curry - doesn't actually taste like anything that I have ever been served in an Afghani home or restaurant but delicious none the less.
CWA scone mix, makes delicious scones that don't taste like they came from a packet at all.
I bought a sachet of sweet n sour mix from the Asian section in Coles yesterday, it was beautiful. I'll definitely buy it again.
Packet San Choi Bow. I like the Marion's Kitchen one, it's actually not too bad when you look at the ingredients.
I've been making the 'Betty Crocker' cakes and cupcakes (I love that they come with frosting for you) and they are the most moist cakes I have every made and pretty easy to make with just adding water, eggs and oil/butter (depending on what you are making).
I made the cake for DD's birthday party and it lasted for a few days without going stale and the cupcakes don't last too long when they are made![]()
we grabbed the duncan adams brand cake mix when they were on special (about $1.50) each - thought they'd be good as a back up in the cupboard. they were awesome! the french vanilla is waaaaaaaaaaaaay over the top vanilla wise, but he chocolate is divine. and you can get the frosting to go with them if you want...
Valcano thai green curry paste
When I make cakes from scratch I buy the tubs of Betty Crocker frosting, it is way better than using icing sugar
I find there is more than enough icing when doing the cupcakes, so much so that last week when DD and I made cupcakes I used the left over icing to make about 10 homemade 'hundred and thousands' biscuits - Milk Arrowroot Biscuits, left over frosting and hundred and thousands sprinkles![]()
Aldi Banana Bread mix - love it! I make it at least once a week. It is really nice just following the instructions or even better if you add extra bananas, some dessicated coconut and a bit of honey. Even my MIL - "This is a packet mix?????I only bake from scratch" - likes it.
I even like those basic Green's muffin mixes that all you have to do it add a cup of waterIt is way easier to do than trying to measure out ingredients with little 20 month old 'helpers' at the moment
Basco gluten free butter cake mix. It is better than normal cake!! I make it for birthday cakes now and everyone raves about it...without even realizing it is a packet mix and gluten free!
And the Vulcom curries are soooo good.
The Valcom massaman curry paste is da bomb!
