    It's not a good idea to put frozen meat into the slow-cooker, especially chicken or pork - it stays at a dangerous temp for too long. That said, I don't brown meat before sticking it in either.

    Whoops. Frozen or part frozen meat goes in mine all the time.

    I don't mean frozen meat, I mean the frozen prepared vegies etc...... just reread Kazbah's post though and saw that she inc. sausages so even more prepared than I thought!

    I put frozen meat in as well. Doesn't take to long to defrost in there!

    I only brown it if I'm not cooking it in a sauce, so things like roasts but things that are wet/saucy/soupy I don't bother.
