Did anyone happen to catch yesterday's alive and cooking episode and get the recipe for the gapo gapo (i think thats what its called...) and clear beef soup? I can't find it anywhere online and I really wanted to try them!
I saw a few minutes of it, I think - he was in Vietnam? Or was that the other chef show... :/
I didn't see either of the dishes you're talking about, but I have never heard of 'gapo gapo', but 'gado gado' is a fresh indonesian salad (bean shoots, eggs, cucumber with a satay/peanutish sauce.) Maybe that's what you're thinking of?
Do you know there is an Alive and Cooking website which lists all their recipes?
Just had a quick look - there's satay chicken with gado gado and clear beef and pork soup... I site searched 'beef soup' to find the latter and 'gado' to find the former.
I luuuuuuuuurve gado gado! And you can make it with pretty much any salad ingredients you like. I often do it with julienned zucchini or carrot, garden lettuce/rocket/spinach, capsicum, tomatoes, roasted pumpkin cubes... anything I happen to have in the fridge. You can also add some leftover cooked meat (bbq chook, nor leftover roast pork, that kind of thing) or chickpeas to it to make it a complete meal.
Is Alive and Cooking still on at 4 on WIN? What time and channel are you guys watching it on? I thought it had been replaced with news but maybe I was on the wrong channel??
