My fave place in Lygon is Il Gusto, the guy out the front is full on (he's very italian LOL) but the food makes up for it (he really is lovely just very passionate). Its the most authentic and best quality food I've had along there. Nothing is fried and you don't get sauces filled with cream or onion to compensate (ie. its not mass produced food).
I LOVE blue fire grill, we have done the Churriscarria Grill a few times. Its brazillian barbecue, and you get unlimited amounts of meat brought fresh to your table straight off the rotisserie. Its good fun provided you don't eat lunch LOL! The one at Melb Central has the "Chocolate" restaurant next door and their apple pie icecream is heaven!
